gaslighting is a bit different from lying, its still lying but its lying in order to cause someone to question their own judgement of a situation.
A lie falls apart when presented with the truth, gaslighting is a lie in which the truth is called into question.
In the OPs example spongebob is being gaslit as he is sure he put pickles on the patty however he is confronted with the patty without them because they were removed without anyone noticing, causing him to question his own reality of the situation.
for this reason gaslighting is far more insidious and manipulative than a mere lie as it makes a liar out of the one telling the truth, and can cause far more distress to the victim.
