I watched it for the boys, wasn't even worth it in that department. The main character is pretty much the girl and her "dog".
All the interesting stuff wasn't shown much and probably being saved for season 2
Assuming you're not simply disagreeing I'd kinda say you have to watch it to comprehend what a waste of time it actually is
But to briefly summarize >Endless quipfest dialogue >Intolerable characters >Mindless non-plot depending entirely on moronic misunderstandings and refusal for people to communicate >Boring ass creature designs >Kong is completely irrelevant until the literal last 2 episodes
The show itself admits how much its male characters don't matter when it simply decides to not give them any resolution whatsoever at the end of the season
Are you dumb
Are you?
Can you seriously tell me with a straight face that this isn't just the Annie show? Charlie has no character or development. Cap exists for exposition. Mike is a literal prop
Electric kraken venom gave me brain damage please understand
You got me with your third point. I actively avoid those kinds of stories because miscommunication conflicts is the laziest trope I hate.
Also I just checked the wiki and there's really just two female characters in this show. How does it consciously disregard most of the cast?
It's really THE girl character, Annie, and she is the only person who matters. The plot hinges on her like the gravitational orbit of planets around a sun
The guys exist, and they run through their meaningless non-plot and rattle off ceaseless noise but that is it. Everything of real consequence is done by and/or about Annie
All those complaints were everything I feared from the trailer.
I know monster movies aren’t known for their stellar dialogue, but the lines in the trailer ruined it for me.
Did you see the part innnn episode 2 or 3, where the girl asks the guys "ARE ALL MEN AS USELESS AS YOU?" and the guy, the male lead, his voice cracks and says "uh, yeah, kinda!"
So I agree. Lmao at anybody thinking this has male leads. More like male punching bags and butt of jokes.
I think the reason for the mother and the mercs being there being explained to the audience in the first episode would kill the interest for the show so they had to pay it out as long as possible. Personally I think they should have not been out looking for a lost girl and be after new and exciting fauna for pharmaceutical research. You could even have rival factions trying to get prize out first to keep things tense. The feral child could be a warning for what to become of the protagonists if they are left on that island so they need to find a way to get home while retaining their humanity.

The way this show humanizes minor characters and makes them likable before killing them off in gruesome fashion gave me a new appreciation for why most shows keep their cannon fodder mooks as faceless and voiceless.
It was pretty funny how the Spanish girl kept chattering away the entire time when Kong took her to his favorite quiet star gazing spot. Probably the only attempt at humor in the series that really landed.
>that rock just ate that man
honestly seems like lazily put together schlock with heavy gay undertones and I will watch it regardless because I love me kaiju
Shows like this are so weird because they're so soulless I can't imagine why it was greenlit. Theres a huge difference between a show that cares about the story its trying to tell and a show thats just trying to make money.
>Series design for Kong to fight monsters all series. >Kong isn’t even a factor in the story and focusing around the strong female character plot.
Hmm.
Not enough Kong/10.
Wasn't bad, but come on. If you make a King Kong cartoon, then you don't have the titular Kong do shit only near the end of the 1st season. It's like making a Superman show with superman appearing in the last few episodes of the season.
Hoping the 2nd one, if there will be any, will rectify it but I'm very, very skeptical here.
And I mean honestly why NOT focus on the time period before and leading up to the Kraken rising? It gives you much more time to do stuff rather than setting yourself in the relatively close to GVK cutoff for Skull Island being depopulated
>Human male leads
I will now give your show a chance
>Male
>Leads
Lol
Lmao
Are you dumb

WHAT interesting stuff? The sea monster was cool but it's dead now
That ugly ass art style alone is enough for me to hate it
this, I loathe the faux-anime art style so much.
I'll gladly take it over beanmouth shit.
Same. I fricking detest Powerhouse animation even more than Bento Box
Its mid.
Elaborate

The two guys feel incomplete. you could probably but them out of show and barely lose a thing. why are they in the story after the boat?

> moronic misunderstandings and refusal for people to communicate
I liked this show but I Fricking hated that part. Once you realize the reason those mercs were there it devolves the story to a "talk it out" session.
Hell no
Man, don't even say that as a joke
Truly dreadful
How do you frick up three times?
Electric kraken venom gave me brain damage please understand
The kraken was half ironic kino with its whale flinging vendetta
>Faux anime art style
You mean didney art style? Anime "style" is just stolen from didney.
Among possible complaints the visual style isn’t really that high up in my book
It is for me. It the most generic, poorly animated trash I've seen this year.
The way this show humanizes minor characters and makes them likable before killing them off in gruesome fashion gave me a new appreciation for why most shows keep their cannon fodder mooks as faceless and voiceless.
I was not expecting the main focus of discussion around this show to be gender warrior shit
If you’ve got a better line of thought I’ll hear it
I want to frick Annie
how original
The most interesting episode was the flashback one with Kong, his hawk buddy and the Spanish speaking girl
The rest was dull.
It was pretty funny how the Spanish girl kept chattering away the entire time when Kong took her to his favorite quiet star gazing spot. Probably the only attempt at humor in the series that really landed.
>that rock just ate that man
honestly seems like lazily put together schlock with heavy gay undertones and I will watch it regardless because I love me kaiju
>with heavy gay undertones
Where? All the teased couples were straight
I don't know I always fall asleep when trying to watch the show
I feel like they implied that the asian guy was gay. It was mentioned that he "didn't like girls" or something like that.
I tried to like this show but it looks like complete shit and the dialogue is shit
No, the two guys are worthless and the dialogue is shit. Skull island is also pretty boring next to its predecessors.
it was the opposite of kino. it was onik
Shows like this are so weird because they're so soulless I can't imagine why it was greenlit. Theres a huge difference between a show that cares about the story its trying to tell and a show thats just trying to make money.
It's just a glorified commercial for the next Legendary kaiju movie. Shows like that always suck because everything about them is an afterthought.
Nope.
>Are all boys this useless
>Pretty much.
>Series design for Kong to fight monsters all series.
>Kong isn’t even a factor in the story and focusing around the strong female character plot.
