    You know it was.
Funny how it was "inclusive" without feeling forced in any way. Fricking hippie, black guy, goth chick and paraglegic. Can't go more diverse than that, still the show was incredible and ghosts' designs is something that inspires me to this day.
And intro. Fricking intro, man. Slaps so hard.
This, Godzilla and MiB is Holy Trinity

No. It was pretty bad for most but appealed to the SJW-types for reasons already mentioned.

Yes, so many SJW in 1997.

Yeah, it's just another brain dead zoomer. They don't understand that language used to be different before they were born and that the terms they take for granted didn't always exist. I hate all the woke sjw homosexuals. I also like Extreme Ghostbusters because it's a good show.

yep. At most, some Rush guy would have called it "too PC"

They were called PC back then.

        >she can shoot or move but not both
Garrett's wheelchair is not electric so he can't do that either. and he can't go over stairs.

He can go DOWN stairs. and he can use momentum to roll while firing, but he can't manuver or accelrate. He actually does both a few times with a proton pack drive by.

I hated it as a kid because the "diversity" was so obviously forced. But on rewatch as an adult, it's pretty damn good in spite of that shit.

      >I hated it as a kid because the "diversity" was so obviously forced
But it really wasn't Garrett isn't in the wheelchair for diversity points. It was an attempt to make the character interesting to write. Originally he was the girl, Lucy, and the writers found her painfully boring so they decided to give her a disability and change her into an optimist who worked hard to compensate for her disability. From there Raynis requested Lucy become a male in a wheelchair but the character designer was dead fricking set on making it a girl with crutches that were the guns and kept sending back variations of that design until Raynis put his foot down.

At no point did someone sit down and say "Okay the team needs a guy in a wheelchair for representation." It was all organic to fit the type of stories they wanted to write. Kylie was sort of that but at the same time she was created last because Roland and Garret were both supposed to be girls but were changed into boys because it fit what the show's writers wanted to do better. This show has always gotten shit for being a BK kids club/Captain Planet squad but they were genuinely just trying to create a cast that benefitted the stories they wanted to write.

She looks like she'd have a lot more trouble fighting due to mobility issues, she can shoot or move but not both

Only episode I remember is when the og Ghostbusters made a cameo. Honestly it was a very forgettable 90's cartoon, a bit above average, but still forgettable. Now the only thing people care about is goth chick's nsfw.

I'm watching Extreme Ghostbusters again but now with my kids and it is one of the few shows from my childhood that really still holds up. Also, I forgot how fricking brutal the show could be:

    >Opening stinger is about a Chinatown merchant letting himself be possessed by a ghost to fight off gangsters
    >Hospital calls the firehouse, says they have a medical emergency only the Ghostbusters could handle
    >A bunch of gangsters got brought into the hospital, they are still alive but THEY HAVE NO FRICKING BONES
    >Me: "Wow, that sounds pretty fricking gross, I don't even know what that would look like- OH GOD THEY'RE SHOWING IT FRICK ME THEY'RE ON HOSPITAL BEDS LOOKING LIKE QUIVERING DEFLATED FLESH BALLOONS GOD THEY'RE JUST STARING INTO THE CAMERA WITH THEIR BULGING EYES AND FISH LIPS TWITCHING AAAAAAAUUUUUGHHHHHHH!"

It was a good sequel for the real ghostbusters cartoon and somewhat the movie.
Also the janine takes the suit episodes were good since she went from clumsy to ellen ripley after marrying egon.

It was good, even with Klasky Csupo's ugly art. When I was younger, I thought it was weird that Egon was only 39 and complaining about his body breaking down. Now that I've been lifting20 or so years, I realize that Egon's years of running around with those heavy-ass packs = heavy workouts, and the inadequate protein and sleep he got WOULD have him retiring in Snap City due to no recovery and no strength gains, just constant wear.

Neat. Imagine what we could've gotten out of that. Probably something decent, if not great.
Oh well, at least we got Roughnecks. The CGI is pretty bad, sure, but everything else is good.

People used to call it PC or compare it to the BK kid's club, both of which I found funny because...it's fricking New York. The old Ghostbusters movies reflected the really upper middle class and above New York, full of white people and israelites. Meanwhile extreme is about a college class in a regular college in NYC. Of course there's not just white dudes.

I didn't like how they were combative to eachother. Except for the black dude whom I remember being nice and interested in the job but too socially unaware to work in a team.

This show fricked me up as a kid.
