This is the weakest part of HEAT. Even if the robbery goes off without a hitch, what is this Black person going to do tomorrow when his parole officer calls and asks why he quit his job? The job that is a condition of his parole?
Really, a tight crew hiring a random guy who turns out to be a serial killer that they don't even need at the very start of the movie gave you hope in plot?
This. I honestly don’t get the worship of this movie. Yeah the action scenes were really good but there were so many asinine aspects. My personal favorite is how a crew of professionals who meticulously plan every aspect of every job, decide to hash out the conflict of a new crew member who committed an unplanned and unnecessary murder during a crime that would be world wide news just hours before, in a diner full of people. Then when they don’t like the answer they get they publicly assault him and give the stank eye to the diners. Then actually try to murder him in the parking lot.
I agree it isn’t a terrible movie. I guess you could even argue that other aspects are so good they override the ridiculous script. For all its flaws I wouldn’t call it terrible. I just don’t get why people here act like it’s not hilariously unrealistic at times.
heat is one of those movies like the departed or the hunt for red october that despite how bullshit moronic everything in it is i just can’t help but love. it’s just dudes doing their jobs
His boss was the real villain of the movie. If he hadn't been a corrupt prick, Breedan would've turned Neil down in favor of a life where he was appreciated and given a second chance. Neil would've assessed his options, called off the heist and everyone would've lived to fight another day.
Probably when your boss is a racist dick and you're used to making thousands of dollars on one job.
Isnt it too hard for you?

Yeah and what about when he finds out he robbed the bank

It’s really a ridiculous movie.
How about Al Pacino killing like dozen cops because he wouldn't settle for busting them and getting them a few years in the can?
It's pretty stupid and the scene between De Niro and Pacino is overrated, but it's a fun ride and enjoyable enough.

>I honestly don’t get the worship of this movie.
Because you think being permanently contrarian is a replacement for a personality.
>people bring up multiple inconsistencies and lazy writing
>ur just contrarian
the writing was flawless
you're just a pedantic homosexual who has no business discussing art
I assume they wanted to 'say something'.
no, the weakest part is Eady. Her decisions don’t make enough sense
I'm pretty sure he knew he was gonna die.
Imagine how depressing a movie where they showed your daily life would be
Wouldn't a fast paced job like that go by really fast?
You know which job goes really fast. Teaching. I don't understand it, I'll talk in front of a room of kids for 3 hours straight and it's like nothing
Yeah but society has zero respect for male teachers. It's almost as bad as being a male nurse.
True but also i don't give a shit what "society" respects
>what 20 year old chuds on 4 Chan think is what “society” thinks
You have to be accurate to the curriculum and not just ramble about the israelites
These days i don't have to because the kids all do that. 12 year olds are way smarter than people think
I work in a call centre juggling like 15 things simultaneously, it fricks you up

Yes the white man is responsible for the choices of the black man.
Are you fricking serious?
yeah man i think he was being serious
What does race have to do with anything?
Ask the guy I replied to. In no other situation would anyone make excuses for the driver. Do you believe his boss was ultimately responsible?
You're the one bringing up the race thing, it doesn't factor in to the plot at all. And yeah, the boss is the catalyst for the events.
If you can't take the heat, stay out the kitchen.
He's so cool
