I don't care about the plot, I don't care what who deserves. Twin peaks was made for the vibe, and I love it. You shouldn't try to understand, you should feel it. Third season is so kino
Vibe and plot are not exclusive and Lynch is a hack. The show's legacy obviously belongs to Frost since we can see by Fire Walk With Me and season 3 that he was the driving force of the interesting and fun parts of the show and Lynch is a moody forever 15 year old that thinks throwing a bunch of esoteric shit on the screen is good filmmaking and laughably winds up creating genuine garbage like the grand finale of the series being literal capeshit where a fanfic character with a dollar store infinity gauntlet punches Bob in his final CGI form to death while the rest of the cast stands nearby doing nothing with their mouths agape like literal anime characters - I'm 100% Lynch had the characters go "N-Nani?!" but some hero editor stealthily removed it.
Laura was the white version of Josie >setup a criminal scheme >was a turbprostitute >was molested her entire life >liar
People feel sorry for Laura but so does Josie
Except the minute she's dead he's off into Donna, saying he was in love with her all along and didn't know it. Meanwhile, Laura is writing about how stupid James is.
Cooper, Laura and Judy die as the world around them goes out. Mark Frost essentially confirms this as one of his books shows a Twin Peaks world where Laura and Cooper disappeared in that town years ago.
I didn't understand it either. Cooper didn't feel like himself and I kept getting the impression he was the doppleganger for some reason, at least until that last scene when he seemed kind of normal again.
I'm rewatching the OG series at the moment, and it's kind of crazy that the red room only appears once in season 1. I remember it being featured prominently
>I remember it being featured prominently
Nah you just remember Cooper’s dream more strongly than the rest of the season, like everybody else. It’s designed to be impactful.
It isn’t, it’s about saving Cooper. Laura is a proxy for all the women he couldn’t save (Caroline, Annie) and season 3 is about him rewriting the past.
No. Audrey needs to be airlifted out and then the entire towns should be laid to waste. She's the only pure one there. Literally everyone else is a sexhaver, adulterer, drug user, or murderer.
I'm tired of pretending I understand wtf Josie's master plan was with the mill and her collusion with Ben Horne. Insurance fraud? But she knows her books have been fricked with and she would go to jail. I dunno
I don't think it was meant to be understood, different writers made different shit up as they went along. Frost wrote Josie shooting Cooper in the S1 finale, why she did that was never explained even though Frost maintained control over the course of the story even after Lynch left. Mr. Lee was initially introduced as a guy keeping an eye on Cooper, but that was also dropped very quickly.
I'm tired of pretending I understand wtf Josie's master plan was with the mill and her collusion with Ben Horne. Insurance fraud? But she knows her books have been fricked with and she would go to jail. I dunno
>Frost wrote Josie shooting Cooper in the S1 finale, why she did that was never explained
Josie explained it, she was afraid that the FBI agent coming to town to solve Laura's murder started investigating her shady past and blowing her cover. It's a ridiculous explanation for the shooting (which was obviously just a cheap S1 finale cliffhanger) but it's there on the show.
I watched the first two seasons fairly recently but still can't remember anyone's name other than Cooper, Leland and Harry as well as Hawk and Josie due to their race. Especially the girls. I liked the hotel owner's daughter the most
isn't laura some weird godess or something? shes not a normal human is she? in fire walk with me despite the fact they show shes a druggy she seems like she has a grasp on outside worlds like she knows shes a figure
I don't feel bad for Laura. She was a horrible person that constantly used, abused, lied to, and hurt her friends and lovers. Drug addict. Chronic cheater and manipulator. Broadly horrible person. Being abused by her father is not an endless pass to be a shithead.
Did I ever tell you about Harold Smith? He was an emotionally frail shut-in simp for Laura and whom Donna, James and Maddy thoughtlessly drove to suicide, and he was a good friend.
Season 2 is fine for roughly the same length of episodes as there were in season 1, its problem was the network ordering a season of almost 3 times as many episodes as the first while telling them at the same time they had to reveal the killer within the first 1/3rd of it, which renders most of the latter 2/3rds pointless shit with no real direction. Despite that there are still good moments in the "bad" episodes, and the season 2 finale is fantastic.
Sorry but the amount of pointless shit that goes nowhere in season 2 really got on my fricking nerves. Season 1 is a masterpiece though. O remember sticking with the James plot hoping desperately that it would end with something interesting
I felt like I got all the catharsis I wanted out of Season 3 Episode 17 and by Episode 18 I had kind of checked out and didn't really care anymore, especially once it was clear it was going to be some abstract shit.
i just wish it wasn't called Twin Peaks because there was no reason for it to be called that lol. TP characters appear only incidentally. then again i guess Lynch would have never gotten the budget otherwise.
>Lynch “dreams up” Twin Peaks >Gordon Cole is played by Lynch >In Cole’s dreams he’s hanging out with Lynch’s real life friends in places he frequents in real life >Cole/Lynch is “the dreamer that dreams and lives inside the dream” >the Lodge inhabitants knows they are in a dream (tv show) and address the camera directly in Missing Pieces >create trouble to keep Cole/Lynch occupied and investigating/dreaming >Frost reads Crowley >”each therefore evil in the only true sense of the word—that is, meaningless but malignant, in so far as it craves to become real” >feed on garmonbozia >garmonbozia is the audience’s attention (the real-world fruit of the seeds of pain and sorrow in the dream) >without attention they’ll die because the show will be cancelled and the dream will cease to be
Reminder that S2 was supposed to have Cooper start a relationship with Audrey, but Kyle MacLachlan was dating Lara Flynn Boyle (actress for Donna) and she refused to allow it, so they had to make up bullshit to replace that plot.
Hail Sophia, full of light, the Christ is with thee,
blessed art thou among all the aeons,
and blessed is the liberator of thy light, Jesus.
Holy Sophia, Mother of all gods,
pray to the Light for us thy children,
now and in the hour of our death.
Amen.
I don't care about the plot, I don't care what who deserves. Twin peaks was made for the vibe, and I love it. You shouldn't try to understand, you should feel it. Third season is so kino
Really is nothing like it.
Actually I do care, the villain reveal was so stupid, I hate producers
Have you people never been to a rural pacific northwest town they are all like this
They’re full of Native American fire spirits possessing people and making them murder their daughters?
No Im talking about all these redditors cooming over "The Vibe" which is just misty weather and tall fir trees.
I think they mean more than just the setting. The music and dreamy dialogue also contribute strongly to “the vibe”
>fire spirits possessing people
yes, alcohol does that
Correct.
No anon most people haven't been to the Pacific Northwest because there's literally no reason to go there.
I felt it was unbearable schlock so I stopped watching after the first few episodes of season 1
Fippy bippy
Nothing ever solved and always side tracking and adding new questions. After 9 episodes of that I was out
The actual murder of Laura gets resolved not long after you quit
FWWM and S3E8 are two of the best parts of Twin Peaks.
I could have fixed her by having sex with her if you know what I mean.
huh?
Laura was the white version of Josie
>setup a criminal scheme
>was a turbprostitute
>was molested her entire life
>liar
People feel sorry for Laura but so does Josie
James could save Laura if he was with her longer, with him she learned what true love that gives everything and asks for nothing meant.
Except the minute she's dead he's off into Donna, saying he was in love with her all along and didn't know it. Meanwhile, Laura is writing about how stupid James is.
Laura was a prostitute, prostitutes deserve to be punished, simple as
didnt she get saved in the end of season 3?
Quite the opposite. It's really a very depressing ending.
Wtf was that ending anyway? A stupid cliffhanger so they can make season 4?
man i don't even know with that guy anymore, and i'm sure he doesn't either
Laura hears her mother's voice, and it wakes her from the dream. And Twin Peaks starts all over again in another loop, and she is trapped forever.
That is one interpretation.
Except in the new world she wasn't murdered, her body wasn't found wrapped in plastic. The good guys win.
Cooper, Laura and Judy die as the world around them goes out. Mark Frost essentially confirms this as one of his books shows a Twin Peaks world where Laura and Cooper disappeared in that town years ago.
Frost is a hack and his books aren't canon. Watch the Orpheus trilogy and Vertigo if you want to understand the ending.
I don't care about no stinkin books
>Frost's books
The first one was good, second one reads like fan theory, neither have anything to do with S3
I didn't understand it either. Cooper didn't feel like himself and I kept getting the impression he was the doppleganger for some reason, at least until that last scene when he seemed kind of normal again.
I thought the whole season was a commentary on how going back to fix things only makes them worse and Cooper completely blew it in the end.
she is the quintessential bpd bipolar prostitute
>Was Laura Palmer a lost cause or could she have been saved?
she was sent to earth to die for our sins like jesus christ but with more rape
I'm rewatching the OG series at the moment, and it's kind of crazy that the red room only appears once in season 1. I remember it being featured prominently
>I remember it being featured prominently
Nah you just remember Cooper’s dream more strongly than the rest of the season, like everybody else. It’s designed to be impactful.
Someone explain to me why Season 3 is about saving Laura again, when she was redemeed by an angel in Fire Walk WIth Me/The Missing Pieces
It isn’t, it’s about saving Cooper. Laura is a proxy for all the women he couldn’t save (Caroline, Annie) and season 3 is about him rewriting the past.
jizzlaine could have saved her with Mr. C's help
SHE'S MY MOTHER'S SISTER'S GIRL
No. Audrey needs to be airlifted out and then the entire towns should be laid to waste. She's the only pure one there. Literally everyone else is a sexhaver, adulterer, drug user, or murderer.
beg your pardon?
Frick you
Lucy literally was having an open relationship. Andy is based tho
What do you mean "open relationship" you turbovirgin? She wasn't married or anything. This is why you're going to die alone and angry.
>Im clearly with andy but uh, Im rpegnant WHOOOOOOOOOO's baby could it be? teehee
I think Wally confirms it was Andy's child
Hit a little too close to home?
What is too close to home? There wasn't even an accusation there, you failed abortion.
Idk man sounds like you’ve been in that situation before and you told yourself
>Erm well we’re not married so technically she’s not cheating on me
calm down roastie, you'll find your prince before you're 40
You are a diseased and loose woman.
Annie is NONE of those things.
this is why Audrey is best girl, she acts like she is wicked but in reality shes the only one thats pure
Why do you homies pretend Annie doesn’t exist?
Annie had a boyfriend in the past so she is impure
Audrey fricked John Wheeler doe however
She won't tell us if she's ok
so pure she signed up to be an *ahem* "waitress" at one eyed jacks
to help her 1 and only love who she is obsessed with
>hey [client], I know you came here to frick me, but really Im just here to be a sting operative
lol
lmao even
reminder that Laura was based on Giada De Laurentis
lmfao
lol hcnul divaD
N O
O
Can you elaborate on that?
Sneed
that prostitute deserved to die, and it was all her father's fault.
You abandoned her, fricking misogynist.
Dr. Pavel, I'm JONES
Naomi Watts was such a sexpot in the Return
Lynch has a remarkable knack of casting incredibly beautiful women in his stuff.
Yeah, and Laura Dern.
I was completly taken out of it when I saw Dr. Pavel show up
I'm tired of pretending I understand wtf Josie's master plan was with the mill and her collusion with Ben Horne.
Didn't she turn into a doorknob or some shit?
>Frost wrote Josie shooting Cooper in the S1 finale, why she did that was never explained
Josie explained it, she was afraid that the FBI agent coming to town to solve Laura's murder started investigating her shady past and blowing her cover. It's a ridiculous explanation for the shooting (which was obviously just a cheap S1 finale cliffhanger) but it's there on the show.
She always wanted to become a drawer handle.
>character only appears in 10/10 kino scenes
GOULD?
This scene destroys me every time I watch it. Major Briggs is the best character and it's not even close.

Audrey
If you don't think Shelly is S tier you probably have a wiener in your mouth right now.
>married a felon

>bad boy bobby
no, you cannot fix her
All irrelevant points.
>her abusive, literal felon husband is irrelevant
you might be moronic
Yeah, we're rating her, not her husband that looks like Spaget.
yes, and she clearly has very poor decision making skills
>woman is moronic
say it ain't so
yes, and thus she cant be S tier
S1/S2 Audrey is one of the sexiest women I've ever seen in my entire life.
Audrey is 10/10 in looks and personality wtf are you talking about
isn't laura some weird godess or something? shes not a normal human is she? in fire walk with me despite the fact they show shes a druggy she seems like she has a grasp on outside worlds like she knows shes a figure
I got the impression from S3 that she was created in order to stop Bob. Maybe I'm wrong.
SHE WAS A prostitute
Dougie could have fixed her
Test
the test worked, Mr. Jackpots
diggies confirmed
I don't feel bad for Laura. She was a horrible person that constantly used, abused, lied to, and hurt her friends and lovers. Drug addict. Chronic cheater and manipulator. Broadly horrible person. Being abused by her father is not an endless pass to be a shithead.
The demo for that Twin Peaks PS1-style survival horror game came out the other day
sauce?
https://blueroseteam.itch.io/twin-peaks-into-the-night
kek not surprised it looks like sh1, thanks
That inventory screen is almost exactly the same
Did I ever tell you about Harold Smith? He was an emotionally frail shut-in simp for Laura and whom Donna, James and Maddy thoughtlessly drove to suicide, and he was a good friend.
man s2 has so many stupid characters and pointless plotlines
>what if... nadine... regressed to the mentality of a high schooler and gained super strength and started fricking mike
>it's gold, film it
he was a bit of a c**t
Laura did "bad" shit and was killed to satisfy Bob's levity. That's it.
Bob killed her because he couldn't possess her, since she was wearing the green ring.
How anyone can watch the end credits and say it’s a happy ending is beyond me. The look of terror and sadness on Coop’s face, man.
That's a still shot from a previous scene, you twat.
Season 2 was bad.
Best version of Dixie Land:
Lyrics start about a minute in
the only good part of s2
k i n o
hands down the best part of Season 2
>she have been saved?
She was.
“It’s a happy ending!”
we're never gonna know what she said
"we are fictional Cooper, its over."
This shit gave me the feels man
>prostitute
>coke fiend
>father was satan
it didnt matter and pt 3 just shows nothing could be done
I felt like I got all the catharsis I wanted out of Season 3 Episode 17 and by Episode 18 I had kind of checked out and didn't really care anymore, especially once it was clear it was going to be some abstract shit.
i just wish it wasn't called Twin Peaks because there was no reason for it to be called that lol. TP characters appear only incidentally. then again i guess Lynch would have never gotten the budget otherwise.
Hair kino. Like a live action Leon S Kennedy
Unrelated but I always thought it was funny how japanese studios give young white characters old black guy names like Leon or Clarence
You see the same thing with chinese exchange students picking grandma names like Esther and Gertrude
>tfw you click on a gif and it isn't animated
>Lynch “dreams up” Twin Peaks
>Gordon Cole is played by Lynch
>In Cole’s dreams he’s hanging out with Lynch’s real life friends in places he frequents in real life
>Cole/Lynch is “the dreamer that dreams and lives inside the dream”
>the Lodge inhabitants knows they are in a dream (tv show) and address the camera directly in Missing Pieces
>create trouble to keep Cole/Lynch occupied and investigating/dreaming
>Frost reads Crowley
>”each therefore evil in the only true sense of the word—that is, meaningless but malignant, in so far as it craves to become real”
>feed on garmonbozia
>garmonbozia is the audience’s attention (the real-world fruit of the seeds of pain and sorrow in the dream)
>without attention they’ll die because the show will be cancelled and the dream will cease to be
frick off rosseter
Every single girl on the show was a prostitute and they all should have been punished accordingly
Norma did literally nothing wrong
an angel in a hive of scum and villainy
She still cheated with another cheater like everyone in that town
Reminder that S2 was supposed to have Cooper start a relationship with Audrey, but Kyle MacLachlan was dating Lara Flynn Boyle (actress for Donna) and she refused to allow it, so they had to make up bullshit to replace that plot.
>Lara Flynn Boyle (actress for Donna) and she refused to allow it
but then Donna goes full Laura and fools around with James and Harold. Ironic.
It's okay when women do it, chud
>This scene destroys me
>This scene rapes my wife and makes me watch
>This scene maces me then beats me with a crowbar until my spine disintegrates
I say this and look like this thoughever. Sorry your're filtered by not having a present father.
Hail Sophia, full of light, the Christ is with thee,
blessed art thou among all the aeons,
and blessed is the liberator of thy light, Jesus.
Holy Sophia, Mother of all gods,
pray to the Light for us thy children,
now and in the hour of our death.

Lynch has never made anything good. He has a small fringe minority of dick riders who act like his work is extraordinary. It's not.
>small town America
>everyone is a degenerate
>sanctimonious hypocritical lying scum
Lynch as a Canadian knew America better than Americans.
She saved herself. She knew it was already too late which is why she allowed herself to die. That is why she gets her angel in the red room.
Laura actually got a happy ending. Cooper got the opposite
