Was looking for some 2000s kinos to watch and this one seems pretty highly rated. Is it good? Does it take much investment to get into?

I'm also choosing between this, Lost and Dexter.
Watch seasons 1-5 and then just forget it. Know that season 2 is generally considered the worst due to the B plot. 5 is by far the best of the series.
season 7 and 9 are really good too, the only bad ones are 6, 8 and the reboot
Watch all of them. Seriously. Focus on one at once but eventually watch them all.
LOST > 24 > Dexter
But watch them all like that other anon said
Lost is genuinrly a masterpiece, you need to watch it.
CSI Las Vegas in the first few season were also great, in that they reset the whole police procedural genre and overrused a lot of filters and camera shots that were innovative at the time but now look dated.
Still, it was the #1 primetime show for a while
As far as sitcoms go I have a soft spot for the Drew Carey show, which peaked in 99-01. Despite being an ostensibly office sitcom they frequently broke the 4th wall with animated segments and musical numbers to the point where all the royalties made it impossible for it to be released on streaming or DVD (past season 1)
So it came and went, a loud snapshot of the time

Just one day.
I love Jack. But he's a war criminal.
I love Jack, but he's a rogue agent and needs to be apprehended. Again.
No such thing
24 is good, BUT if you haven't seen it watch The Shield ASAP.
Is it cool? I want to watch something cool.
Yeah, the strike team is cool as frick.
I'll give it a watch. Looks great. Thanks for the rec.
yeah but it's also an elite show
basically treat the shield as if you were going to watch something like the sopranos, if you're looking for a more chill viewing the 24 and lost like someone else mentioned are good bets, or prison break even
cool. thanks for the advice.
The Shield is nowhere near as good as 24. It's depressing grimy police station drama
Nah. The Shield feels more consistent in quality. 24 is really fun to watch, but gets really dumb at times, even in its best seasons.
>torture & extrajudicial execution is le good
there's no way this show wasn't some commissioned by the CIA
24 is goated. First season is amazing, twist after twist; second starts slow and the Kim subplot is rubbish but the second half is amazing. Season three and four are great and season five goes all out
they're shooting at us
There's a lot of filler plotlines
The original "just one more episode" show
Of course it's good, it's a classic
Perfect, no, good, yes
Much investment, not sure what you mean, some zoomer thing "I have to join the subreddit and talk about the fan theoriesssss" just watch it man
It's a great show. Jack is high test and fricking hates terrorists.
Season 1 kinda dips halfway through with his wife's subplot, and his daughter scenes are generally filler, but otherwise it's an intense watch.
I fricking love 24. I watched it when it was first airing. My work phone has the CTU ringtone to this day.
All the seasons are great and bring something different. Be prepared for amazing entertainment, evil conspiracies, badass operators, emotion, betrayal, splosions.
HOWEVER. Also be prepared to skip through some parts - generally the female characters and plotlines are particularly bad from S2 onwards, and you miss nothing my skipping them.
Also last time I rewatched, it was pretty dated (but you should still watch it). It re-explains the previous episode, every episode. I don't mean a recap at the beginning. I mean the dialogue will literally repeat dialogue used in the previous episode. Which feels extra bizarre in the context of the "real time" gimmick. You'll understand what I mean when you watch it.
Season 1 has one of the worst plot points, kind of glad they get it over the way though
What is the MOST 2000s show though? My vote is pic related, or maybe six feet under
It’s one of my absolute favorite shows of all time. It takes more investment than a lot of modern shows because each season is 24 episodes rather than 10-12, so it’s a lot more time total, but it’s worth it. There’s nothing else quite like it.
