She was an adult woman's who never interacted with a child nor remembers what it's like to be a kid because she has no soul and her human spirit was born approx 15~ years after her body was, idea of what a child is like
She’s the memory of what it’s like to be a teenage girl from a middle aged woman trying to relive her nostalgia. Yes teenage girls have urges but don’t go awooga in front of a boy with no shame.
I'm mostly talking about the comedically over the top things she does in a comedy movie that you guys seem to hate. Her saying AWOOGA is just a funny stupid joke, not indicative of some underlying nostalgic horniness that the entire writing staff had.
I mean, I'm sure some of the female writers drew from their own experiences going through puberty when writing Mei, it is a story about a girl going through puberty after all, but I don't think it's some weird perverse thing to do that. Drawing from real life experiences is something most writers do, and I don't really buy that it's some perverse thing that is as insidious as you make it out to be. She's an awkward teen doing awkward teen shit in a movie about puberty.

You clearly never interacted with teenagers much when you were younger. Anyone with a working memory remembers a hundred and one ways teenagers are the alpha and omega of cringe and horny.
Yeah, and guys don’t have their eyes pop out of their head, their tongue unroll on the ground like a fruit by the foot, heart pop out of their chest…
Cartoons exaggerate things to communicate ideas. If she acted as subdued as she would in reality, it wouldn’t communicate what the character is feeling.
this thread is the equivilant of watching iCarly and going "cmon dude, just because a girl in a kids show showed her feet doesn't mean the writer has any odd intentions with it"
yes, that statement is correct if it stands alone
but we all know it's not the case in this specific scenerio
no, not every movie about female puberty is a weird self insert trauma dump by some c**t who can't handle her emotions without making them into a weird and oddly sexual children's movie
not every time... but this time, it is
Anon, I don't think it is. It is a comedy about puberty, so the jokes about that being over the top make sense. No shit girls don't go AWOOGA at the top of their lungs in real life when they see a boy they think is hot, but neither do men who see hot women and I'm pretty sure their tongues don't unroll from their mouths when they do either. It's a joke, it's supposed to be silly. It's not some weird deep state Disney horny agenda. I'm going to say something you're not going to like. My personal opinion is that you're uncomfortable with the subject matter of the movie, a girl's puberty and burgeoning sexuality. That's fine, but it doesn't incriminate other people, specifically those who worked on the film.
>hey anon i think your 5 year old child is very cute >"aw thank you"
is my statement creepy? >by the way i have a warrant for child porn possesion
is my statement creepy now?
think about this and youll understand
also if you respond with "but ummm youre saying the writer posseses child porn??" or anything of the sort im going to assume you dont have the IQ to into metaphors
This is a false equivalency. Telling a story about a girl coming to grips with her puberty and acting a bit obnoxiously as she does isn't even close to your little pedophilia metaphor.
What exactly is the missing context here? That adults wrote the movie and children didn't? Please enlighten me.

we know the woman who wrote this movie wrote it for other adult women and we know she did it to air out "muh personal trauma"

there were multiple women who wrote the movie anon. Mostly Julia Cho did the writing but Domee Shi the director also filled in some stuff.

what are you implying anon. I don't think there's anything wrong with the movie, even if others agree. And are you implying Domee Shi is some weird predator or something?
[...] >Low IQ individuals ITT literally cannot figure out anon's metaphor
Alright guys.... So about yesterday's breakfast
I genuinely think you guys just aren't comfortable with a story about a girl going through puberty and automatically jump to it being something malicious because it makes you uncomfortable. Are you guys this anal about all coming of age stories? It's a bit telling that the one made specifically for young girls is the one that you draw the line at.

You're right anon, I personally loved the movie about the little boy who wakes up one day as a giant pickle and he goes all stiff and moist when he sees a cute girl and his dad catches him in the shower and has to tell him to wash behind the pickle

It's clear English isn't your first language, so maybe metaphors aren't the way to convey your message here, huh pal?

The creation of Turning Red was the equivalent of showing your wiener to a child. Apparently. Oh, and men are taller than women most of the time.

You're being disingenuous. Yes, the "Red Panda" imagery is a little on the nose, but it's not like she's a walking, bleeding c**t.

Nah I love this movie. I think it's comparable to moves like Big which is a PG movie. Also like Lady Bird but that's an R rated movie.

I wonder if SchizoPrude Anon was utterly furious at The Sandlot when all the 10-13 year old boys were openly horny as frick for the older lifeguard. Did he scream GROOOMING!!1!!1! when she married one of them in the epilogue?

It's a cartoon.
>cartoons arent made by people, they just spring out of the ether into existance via magical fairy dust

Kids get crushes. Especially 13 yr olds , also crushing on older boys is the norm
She's the cutest little perv!

Some of my female classmates were far more embarrassing (and loud) than this when they turned 13. Puberty is one hell of a drug.
a girl sang "show me your genitals" to me in highschool, so I believe it.
And I can't put my penis in your college degree, so why sharin' all this information with me?
Show me your genitals.

the point is that CONTEXT changes the feel of something

There's plenty of points made that could be argued.
