>dood we spent our entire careers trying to get clone high back
show comes back >yeah we're busy with other shit, I'm sure these zoomer writers can handle it
I assume part of it is also they kept chasing a dream beyond its life cycle, like they were 25 when they made and lost clone high. It's a good age to make your way into media and say "yeah there's a bunch of bullshit in here" and make fun of it. But when you're fricking 45 and probably don't even understand half of what's hot today, you're in a poorer position to make calls on shit. You either don't really get it in the first place making it harder to pick apart or you feel like the old man yelling at the kids. I can see wanting to bring in new writers and give them the position to do what you did 20 years ago. But the problem is they didn't find those writers and the show feels like it was written by people who ingested the show via memes and had no real satirical takes on anything their contemporary shows were doing because really HOW COULD YOU when the contemporary shows had already become parodies of themselves or were shit you agreed with whole heartedly. The only teen show I can think of that takes itself any kind of seriously these days is fricking Euphoria. Go ahead...say something satirical about Euphoria that doesn't sound like a Cinemaphile shitpost about unironically unironically wanting to frick that Thranduil looking motherfricker.
They hired a team almost exclusively consisting of people who hated the original show, did not understand it, and saw the entire thing as an excuse to unironically preach their bullshit ideology, instead of making fun of teen dramas with funny historical figures.
Yes. From the moment they decided to bring on these new writers who touted themselves as "fans" of the show when in actuality they hated it and did not understand any of the material from the time period the show was parodying (2000's teen romance dramas), it was bound to fail. Topher Bus was the only cool new character they introduced.
You know it's possible to miss the point of something without actually hating it, right? Like Zack Snyder and Watchmen or the devs who made Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.

It fricking kills me so much. They finally achieve it and now they no longer give a frick about it. I wish it stayed dead.
breh what's with Gandhi's face?
Is it really that bad?
They should've continued the parody aspect regardless if it makes any sense in current year, zoomers be damned. Have some balls for once.
probably, it wouldn't have been had the original writers actually stepped in
>it wouldn't have been had the original writers actually stepped in
You didn't like the cancel culture episode? You didn't like the Cleo episode?
you sure they didnt get the original writers?
