I rewatch the first season from time to time. Very good, cannot believe they just pulled basically the entire fricking budget and filmed season 2 on ONE farm.
Season one had towns of different scenes, flashbacks, lots of footage down town atlanta and on rooftops. Its pathetic honestly and the kneecapped their own show right out of the gate
>Very good, cannot believe they just pulled basically the entire fricking budget and filmed season 2 on ONE farm
It was more or less the same budget. It just had to stretch twice as far AND deal with a bigger cast AND deal with every returning actor getting paid basically double. Keeping Walking Dead to 10 episode seasons would have solved literally every problem
frick this shit >dropped the show after season 3 >decide to check out some new seasons of walking dead >the first episode is this torture miseryslop
what if the real villain was.... LE MAN? frick off, not watching it
>Was the Walking Dead ever good?
Ive tried to watch the first episode several times because I love 80s zombie movies and I never finished episode 1.
No, its reddit shit for soi gays and women.
The entire plot of the show makes no sense because all you need is pic related to survive the zombies.
You have to dumb down the IQs to every living person in the show and make them try to kill each other for zero reason whatsoever instead of pulling together and recreating some kind of state/government.
Dead City is fair. Only 6 episodes in S1 and who knows if there will be more. Starts off with the TWD formula but in New York, and Maggie/Negan intrigue but it grows on you. Introduces two new main characters and several new secondary characters that are all decent.
I'll say this, every episode was better than the one before. That's never a bad sign for a new series.
The submarine series could've gone somewhere but it was dumped after only 3 episodes. Probably for the best, once the sub is out of the picture, it's just more TWD
Dead City is basically a TWD season with all the filler shit cut. Every episode went exactly as long as it needed to. If all the spin offs are like this, I'm invested
So by this point the first walkers have to be harmless pretty much. I get that it's a spore or something that controls the brainstem but there is only so long that a body can survive without some kind of circulation and cellular activity in the musculature. Suspension of disbelief I guess.
2 eps, first 2 episodes that had Morgan. So the first ever episode and the 2nd time he shows up. That 2nd episode was so good it made me realize that every episode in-between was pure slop and I dropped the show soon after
AMC gave this the lowest budget possible and threw in commercial breaks every 5 minutes and normalgays ate that shit up. I'm honestly impressed by the level of israeli frickery at play.
It could've been good, but they leaned into the interpersonal drama too much. I understand that they need to pander to their female audience to get enough viewers because men would rather play video games, but the series suffers a lot from zombies no longer being a real threat.
this show had moments of great TV with fricking decades of filler, you could have taken everything good out of S1 up to Negan and made 1 season of Zomibie kino.
Yeah the first 5 or so seasons were great

AMC is b***hmade. They didn't deserve their success.

The farm isnt the problem, the problem is ordering 6-10 more episodes than was needed and stretching out the story to still fit the same beats.
3 issues of plot is all that's covered in the entire adaptation in S2
Yea
frick this shit
>dropped the show after season 3
>decide to check out some new seasons of walking dead

what if the real villain was.... LE MAN? frick off, not watching it
The first season was good enough, the best it ever got after that was decent
Pretty much this. The show doesn't hold up on rewatch at all.
season 1 episode 1 was good, turned into trash in episode 2
disagree. the Atlanta CDC episode was the end of it for me, so maybe four episodes in
Season 5 was utter kino (except for hospital shit) and I will fight everyone to the death on that
>Was the Walking Dead ever good?

The show is trash, but this speaks more to your abysmal attention span than it does the quality of the show.
Literally only the first season and that's only 6 episodes of something.
Season 1, 3, and 4 were good.
First season and depending on your liking of the storyline
The entire plot of the show makes no sense because all you need is pic related to survive the zombies.

If I remember right one of the characters survives being surrounded by zombies by wearing riot gear
why he didn't wear it all the time mystifies me
>character falls and can't get up
>zombambos swarm him and eventually rip off his armour piece by piece
Max Brooks knew this.
>character falls and can't get up
meme
armor isn't that heavy
Extra ~50 lbs, bad visibility and making noises when you move is not good.
The entire plot makes no sense because apparently their skulls are so soft even a simple knife take them out
what about chainmail and just a helmet? would that do or would it not stop bites?
None of the good shows were ever good
First 2 seasons yeah, after that it goes to shit
Seasons 4 to 6 are peak

They just announced a season 2.
the good part I guess is that the don't need striking writers. AI could write TWD stuff.

Yes up until pic related.
Normies lost their shit and complained it was too violent so everything after that scene was neutered.

watching after-airing, seasons 4-6 were kino
I don't get the love for seasons 1-3
AMC gave this the lowest budget possible and threw in commercial breaks every 5 minutes and normalgays ate that shit up. I'm honestly impressed by the level of israeli frickery at play.
well it wasn't ever not good, if that makes sense
rick burying his machete in the prison guy's head was cool
yes its good
I watched the Alexandra Breckenridge episodes just for her.
It could've been good, but they leaned into the interpersonal drama too much. I understand that they need to pander to their female audience to get enough viewers because men would rather play video games, but the series suffers a lot from zombies no longer being a real threat.
Nah the governor was kino. Once he was dead I stopped watching.
Only season 1 was good.
They then fired the showrunner and stretched the budget thin with double the episode orders and an increased cast.
