This is by far one of the most moronic retcons. There is not a single story/thematical reason for Boba Fett to be a fricking clone. It adds nothing. There is not a single reason for the clone army to be clones of Boba Fett. It was done only because "REMEMBER BOBA FETT?" Him being a homosexual maori manlet only detracts, it doesn't enhance the story in any way. There is no reason Boba Fett should have been in those movies at all.

    Also, Jason Wingreen > Morrison

There is no reason to make Jango and Boba Fett related. Jango is literally a reskin, a clone of a character from 1980 movie. Why? For what purpose? Why can't Boba Fett be his own character? It literally adds nothing to the story. It is pointless and irrelevant, and only ruins the coolness and mystique of Boba, on top of cool as frick voice.

George already fricked up by giving Boba a lame death, as well as a minimal role in general. He may as well try and remedy that by making him more important later on.

Also, imagine unironically saying that Morrisons boring, uninterested, apathetic, slow voice is somehow better than Wingreen.

I'm wrong about many things, but i'm right in saying Boba Fett is wooden, Wingreen was wooden and it is laughable that you call Tem's Boba non-charismatic, yet think Wingreen was. He was not, Boba as a character is not charismatic. Full stop. It is emabrassing how over these years OT gays have deluded themselves, you have created a false idol idea of Boba Fett in your head.

The reality of Boba Fett was he was a cool set of armour, but charismatic?

Boba Fett's appeal was the design, the mystique, and in some small part the performance, and more particularly the voice over work.
He didn't become important until the prequels. Which was Lucas addressing the fandom he had developed, but it ironically backfired.

Morrison actually has charisma but Boba Fett shouldn't be charismatic or have the soft voice he has. The raspy voice from Wingreen makes Fett sound seasoned, tough and slightly creepy. Also the only people who should have British accents or similar are the imperials from the core worlds.

Morrison is a great voice actor. The only reason his ESB lines sound bad is because they had him record his lines over the phone and they didn't tell him why. If you listen to his Battlefront voice lines, he's just as good (if not better) than Wingreen. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I1lQO7tMDqc&t=296s

It is a retcon. Boba Fett was Jeremy Bulloch (1.83m) who was voiced by Jason Wingreen:

Now he is a homosexual maori manlet (1.71m), and his voice was literally changed and retconned. It is a retcon.

Again, that's not a retcon. Height is not a retcon, actor change of a character whose face was never seen is not a retcon

Boba Fett actually has two origins. The first one was given in the 90s novel The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett.

He was originally a space policeman named Jaster Mareel who had gotten booted off the force and became a bounty hunter named Boba Fett afterwards. Then Attack of the Clones came out and made everything all fricky.

I remember having this flyer when I went to see RotS as a kid and finding it really cool that Boba and Jango were related despite Jango seemingly appearing more high-tech/futuristic. I liked the juxtaposition of the OT/PT characters and that it was all tied together.
Later on, I understood why people didn't like George including so many references to the OT, but it never really bothered me at that point.

George Lucas has a big hard-on for clones, virgin births, orphans, and missing parents. I wouldn't be surprised if yoda and obi-wan were virgin births or clones at this point. The Jedi steal people's kids and never let them see their parents again. Seriously, who in the movies has a mother and father? Anakin just has a mom and sheev force raped her. Leia almost had a mother but they had to retcon that to make Padme die right after birth. Can't have Boba Fett have a mom and dad, gotta be a clone. Can't have Rey have a mom and dad, nope, clones too, abandoned and dead as well.

it has roots in the original early ESB concepts that Boba Fett, before he had that name, was an elite Imperial supersoldier, more elite than Stormtroopers. Originally Boba's outfit was entirely white. So this was Lucas revisiting old concepts and reworking them, whilst providing some backstory for Boba Fett

Boba maybe. Jango as it stands is more capable than Mando. He killed a Jedi onscreen and several offscreen.

More capable, yes, but Din has better characterization in his first couple of episodes than Jango gets in his scenes in AOTC, and I like his physical and voice performance more.

          Anonymous

I like Din and the show in general, but not as a bounty hunter. To me he represents a lone wolf (and cub) more than a proper hitman character.
So in that regard, there is no "original Boba" equivalent, if that makes sense. The best bounty hunter stuff is from the books or comics.
And the added benefit of a cameo by Boba and respectively Jango. Din is something different.

My stance as of 2022 is simply that Jango > Boba in terms of the bounty hunter/hitman angle.
And Din being something else entirely, with a few elements that he shares with Boba.
But in terms of having the most potential, and coming across as the most intriguing in general, I'd have to go with Boba in the OT.
He was also used better in the games, but that's another topic, and it applies a lot to Jango as well.

                >He was also used better in the games, but that's another topic,
Oh most definitely. I love Boba in the Battlefront games, og and DICE. It's definitely the effect of empathizing with characters when you actually control them, and they say cool stuff when you kill people.
I didn't care about Cal Kestis until I actually played Fallen order, but I really enjoyed the character's eagerness and uncertainty, because he was reacting to how I played and what I discovered

I'm just now remembering I had a Boba costume for halloween that I really liked as a kid, mainly because I read this boba fett book where he tries to kill Mace windu, which eventually got turned into an arc of Clone Wars

This. In fact, every other person who had voiced the clones was better than Morrison. Every other clone in Republic Commando sounded better, the clones in BF2 sounded better. Morrison just doesn't have any range and his pronunciation is too slow and drawn out.

Georgie Boy was having a laugh because "Boba Fett" was just a scrapped idea for a special class of Stormtrooper that they repainted at the last minute as an individual character who for reasons he'll never understand became a breakout icon that enjoyed decades of popularity despite limited and lackluster screentime. He thinks you're gay nerds and was making a meta joke about how throwaway Boba Fett was.

      Anonymous

      >limited and lackluster screentime
That was part of what made Boba special, his mysterious aura was made from how little he was on screen and how little he spoke combined with his cool armor, just like Maul pre resurrection (and to a lesser extent Phasma and Snoke) their short appearances leave the viewer wanting more which leads people to buy merch, books, comics and vidya to learn more about them, this has always been the business model of Star Wars.

It was done because boomers and Gen Xrs were expecting the clones to be alien monster clones, and Jorge in his infinite wisdom wanted to subvert the idea and instead make the troopers the clones! HAHA! What a great idea! Even though it's actually completely moronic!

The Geonosians should have been the alien monster clones. They invade and take control of Kamino, and force the kaminoans to make armies of genetically modified clone Geos.

The clone Geos then invade various poorly guarded republic spaces and pillage and burn entire colonies and planets to test their strength.

The clone troopers should have just been Republic troopers. They could have looked exactly the same and you could have essentially had all the same characters, except they're not stupid pointless clones.

Every nerd thought The Clone Wars would be either evil Jedi clones or some sort of alien monster clones. George wanted to do something different to subvert that since even he didn't have a real idea of what it was when he put it in the OT. And eh, I guess he succeeded. Still had a moronic reason for them to get made and used though.

Boba Fett's armor was originally white, so that helps me understand what Lucas was thinking. A mandalorian warrior and his combat armor serving as a basis for a clone army. Makes sense.
