Too soon, you piece of shit.
I think I appreciate the intention that the cliffhanger ending for the TV series was less about resolving the plot and more that the resolution itself was to contentiously fight against a bad future. It's pretty in line with all the other endless battle endings we've had for getter anime but I don't know if it's really handled as well as it could have been. On paper I actually like the idea but in execution there's too much stuff leading up to it that just doesn't really work. What was the point of Baku staying behind in the getter dimension? What did he learn and how did he get out? It didn't even really suggest he learned anything. And the matter of Kamui himself. He has a lot of shit to answer for and I'm not against him rejoining the team, especially out of necessity but it still feels too clean.
It's just the manga cliffhanger with added character deaths
I really didn't need to have New Getter Robo's ending again. I really didn't need to have Kawagoe's tone-deaf homosexual directing in another Getter story.
Why do they hate adapting Getter Robo stories that actually end? The original, Getter Robo Go, spinoffs, there are plenty of Getter stories that finished.
feels like Dynamic pro doesn't want to make Getter anymore popular, often times, Getter overshadows anything Mazinger related, but this is just own bias from what I've seen, I'm probably wrong but it feels like it with how Getter related stuff constantly gets shafted.
>Mazinger gets a complete Imagawa show
>Mazinger gets a big movie by Toei
>Getter gets 1/3rd of an Imagawa story
>Getter gets a phoned in low budget adaptation that misses the tone entirely
No shit.
less than 1/3rd*
holy shit
They just wanted to add stuff for future SRW and I'm okay with that.
