GLADIATOR FRICKING SUCKS. IT'S NOT GOOD. Seriously, if you haven't seen it in a long time, go watch it. It's arguably on the same level as The Scorpion King, genuinely. Hell, the Scorpion King is at least marginally fun. It has terrible writing, pacing, is dull as shit, and just doesn't come off. The only good things are the sets and Phoenix's performance. That's it. You don't need to fall for the hype anymore. Go watch it, make the scales fall from your eyes. It might be one of the most if not the most overrated historical film of all time.

That's fair. I've probably seen less than 20 minutes of it in total over the years, so I don't know too much about the plot and can't judge it based on that criterion. I'll still probably never watch the full movie because I abhorred the editing and tend to focus a lot on the technical aspects of films.
Blade Runner has been consistently ranked in the top 100 films ever made in the Sight & Sound polls and the last S&S critic's poll had Alien ranked in the top 150.
