Was this the movie that crippled and will ultimately kill the MCU? Marvel hype is at an all time low to the point where nobody cares about what MoM brought in, and it all started when they tried to go all in on Brie Larson as the new face of the MCU, but she made everyone hate her and her movie got lukewarm reception at best.

The movie that killed the MCU was Endgame. Because that was the end. The story was finished. Finito. Fin. Done. Over. Complete.

      Nah, like kinda, but nah.
Endgame was A logical jumping off point. We didn't need to jump off, but bREE convinced us to.

What they needed was something other than bREE to convince us to go again, but instead they offered awkwafina and two men kissing.

I suspect it's now too late.

Not really. I mean it's summer, so we've got to deal with underaged newbies who haven't figured out cool yet, and even then the only threads for Whor are shillthreads and MoM has zero organic memes at the five week mark.

Morbius got memes, but that's not MCU.

How the frick do you let one random standalone film ruin your hype for the biggest movie in the franchise?

I think it was Captain Marvel movie combined with excessive media circus shit show around it for the whole time leading up to endgame. By the time endgame came out I just wanted wanted to wash my hands of the entire franchise. I also haven't bothered to watch any of the post endgame movies either.

It’s only good if you like Raimikino and are capable of interpreting it as a satire. I saw it with a bunch of zoomers and they took it dead serious and hated it.

I liked the first one mainly because it didn’t seem to try and build itself up to be something “epic” like most marvel movies do.

Because Brie is a piece of shit human.

Ms. Marvel is unironically more charismatic and better written. I guarantee she will overshadow Brie in their movie.

The word at the time was that there were two cuts of Endgame. One with more of her and one with less based on how she was received. They pretty much went out their way to say she wouldn't be round too often but now we're getting a sequel for whatever fricking reason.

Because it's not a standalone film.
The MCU pre-Endgame was, on the whole, average but watchable. You could make it through Ironman 3 or Thor 2 because you knew the payoff was coming.
So there's no such thing as a standalone film in the MCU, it's either part of it or it isn't.

To wit: either the incels get ALL of it, or they don't want ANY of it. A bREE made it clear that that incels weren't going to get all of it.

Now if you don't think it's "fair" that incels get all of it, okay, but that sounds to incel ears like a rejection, like you're saying they're not enough. And they're not going to tolerate that, they're not emotionally equipped for that, and what you don't have is the right to expect otherwise.

Now it's become abundantly clear that very rich and powerful people, in addition to bREE herself, want bREE to have second shot. If you are truly serious about getting your audience back AND keeping bREE, then bREE needs to:
        1. Apologize for rejecting incels (don't call them incels).
        2. Seriously make an effort to please them (and no that doesn't mean fan service on late nite).
        3. Find a way to convince them you're not going to do it again.

Do that, and I don't have any faith in your ability to do so, and you have your billion dollar audience back.
