I dunno about that. Personally, I strongly preferred the movie's portrayal of the character. Jones' K had a level of charisma that makes the cartoon K look boring in comparison. Smith's J was a bit of a goof, yeah, but he was way more competent than the cartoon's J. Cartoon J was sometimes infuriating. Dude's a former detective, and a damn fricking good one at that. K chose him specifically due to his sheer potential. Cartoon J was a manchild who kept doing moronic shit that no competent detective should. Also, why did he keep using the Noisy Cricket?
There's no need for the silencer. He should have just used a De-Atomizer like literally every other fricking agent. K should have been past the dumb shit already. Again, he was a capable detective prior to being chosen by K. The Noisy Cricket was just a cheap running gag for like the entire first season because the writers wanted an excuse to have J fall on his ass once an episode.
But he made the silencer. It's the only weapon he's able to have on him at all times. He gets other weapons to use but it's normally K that gives approval first. J adapts to being an agent and grows.

the series is in a weird limbo between the moment J becomes MiB and before K leaves.
Is why J is portrayed as a newbie instead of the absolute badass he actually is later in the franchise.
On Discotek Media's Twitch stream the other day they mentioned doing a blu-ray of Legend of Calamity Jane, which was produced by the same studio as this series IIRC. They also said there was more western animation projects they were working on producing releases for. It would be awesome if this was one of them.
The Real/Extreme Ghostbusters series are better than the film that spawned them, especially the JMS episodes, and their ad designs never shafted Winston's character. Cinemaphile beats Cinemaphile again.
>Real/Extreme Ghostbusters series
dammit, this. I really want to love the Ghostbusters movies, I do, but the movie is like 90% an SNL alum comedy vehicle and 10% mythos, and I want the mythos.

I was introduced to the franchise via Extreme as a young kid in the '90s and was a little disappointed when I finally saw the original movie in high school.
Not at all. The MIB series was enjoyably gritty for a Saturday Morning cartoon, but Vincent D'Onofrio as Edgar in the movie can't be topped by anything animated
Was the Jimmy Neutron movie good? The show was watchable.
Black Dynamite is great, but I honestly don't remember if I saw the movie or not.
Clone Wars was better than the prequel movies.
i think people might say godzilla or evOlution
I loved the show but I loved the movie more. But the Godzilla cartoon was definitely better than the movie.
Not this one, for sure. At least not than the first movie.
Neither this one, the only non-hateable characters in this were Godzilla and N.I.G.E.L., and poor N.I.G.E.L. has a horrible time in it.
Both the MIB show and the Godzilla show were produced by the same guy.
Fil Barlow fricking slaps.

J actually gets better as the show progresses. He takes down Alpha and makes a silencer for the Noisy Cricket.

Doesn't the MiB cartoon do what Real Ghostbusters did and retcon the movie as a "embellished adaptation" of what really happened?
No, the 1st movie was great. It's definitely better than the 2nd & 3rd movies

They brought him back to play Edgar's twin brother.
Also the only case where race swapping was an improvement
When I watched Real Ghostbusters as a kid, having not seen the movies, I originally thought Ray was the black guy and Winston was the fatass.
MIB 1 > Cartoon > 3 >> II
Men in Black and Godzilla TAS
Was the Jimmy Neutron movie good? The show was watchable.
Black Dynamite is great, but I honestly don't remember if I saw the movie or not.

The game is basically Season 4.
