Why is Disney so averse to plot driven cartoons rather than episodic ones anyway?
You'd think TOH large fanbase would tell them people want this sort of stuff
>Why is Disney so averse to plot driven cartoons rather than episodic ones anyway?
Episodic is easier to sell in syndication. They can be shown in any order and you can tune in anytime & understand what's going on. Money basically.
The audience thing seems to be a tricky issue. TOH didn't do so hot in terms of D+ numbers, but the S3 episodes that went out on youtube garnered a good amount of views and even trended briefly. That tracks with a lot of viewers being older than the rest of the usual DTVA demographic, and/or people who consume the show without streaming it legitimately
And what good is an audience like that for, anyways?
I feel like theirs a huge untapped market of 14 - 18 year olds which cartoons just don't appeal to. It's why anime is so popular now, because the west refuses to make cartoons that aren't baby shit or family guy
>TOH didn't do so hot in terms of D+ numbers
We literally don't have those, it did great on TV and YouTube and social media buzz, and it was cancelled during S1 which means they cut it before even waiting to see how it performs which supports the claim it was about the brand
Disney is adapting Sam Bosma's Fantasy Sports in to a animated series with Lebron James production company....
, Rhona Who Lives By The River, The Witchverse and Neon Galaxy (pic related) who is a show who mixes SU and Jem and The Holograms the latter is created by Molly Knox Ostertag, she recorded the pilot back on April
Asking in a random thread: do you guys remember that French cartoon about a band of old heroes going on a new quest? It was a furry world i think, and of the heroes was a king of country. He also took his son with them. There was also some important spear... I searched for it but somehow it just doesn't exist, which is very weird. I think i saw a thread here in like 2022? 21? maybe it was giga canceled
I won't forgive them for destroying Amity
It certainly was one of the better animated ones
No it wasn’t
No it isn’t there’s Fionna and cake hate or like it it’s an action adventure.
OP said Disney.
>Fionna and cake
Cartoon Network/Netflix, not disney.
At least for the time being? Yes, sadly.

>large.
Yeah its pretty big, bigger than a lot of the episodic cartoons they have on their streaming site despite TOH being over
Uh huh suuure and I bet that fanbase watches it on Disney plus.

Comics and cartoons?
It was the only good one for a long while that's for sure.
Keep lying to yourself about that also primal was on the air when this was and that’s getting another season.
>primal
Not Disney.
Does Disney or anyone have any upcoming shows that can fill the void?
No
Amphibia’s getting another theme song take over today.
So, no. Because that's just a song.
Belos is in it, no speaking lines but he’s name dropped. Wasn’t a theme song take over but a broken karaoke.
> the void
The void left by a cartoon literally cancelled over lack of audience is not something that requires filling.
They said it was because it "didn't fit the disney brand" not because of a lack of viewers

It sucked ass. Vee was the only character I liked. We need more slug girls in animation.
Bitch. She's a snek.
She's a baby basilisk actually
Yeah but snek sounds cute.
Pleb.
Cute girl kisser.
How's Molly and Hayley on it?
Fun shows, not as good as owl house but worth checking out
I meant as an action/"plot driven" show.
Or if they're not, how probable is that they make the switch?
That would be Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
