The homewrecker lesbian plot was boring and stupid, as well as being gay. I want to watch rockets and spaceflight not dykes talking about their feelings, women are not (not) interesting.
Lots of female empowerment. The black female astronaut on more than one occasion, uses her race to guilt trip the male lead into securing her positions of authority.
It's not that bad
They try to make people react realistically to sudden changes and they don't beat you in the face with it
The biggest problem is just "women talking" a lot. Basically any time it isn't about space or the astronauts. Thankfully I can filter that out as I've gotten used to it, so it's quite a comfy series to me.
First two seasons are surprisingly good. In fact it has some of the best writing I've seen in recent TV. People actually interact naturally with each other, exchange viewpoints, share emotions; they're more than just a vehicle for the plot. There are a couple of moments and scenes in every episode that'll make you roll your eyes but it's not that bad (in fact the best character in the show started off as a "strong woman" stereotype).
Season 3 completely shits the bed and turns into an amateurishly written soap opera with forced conflicts and unsatisfying character resolutions.
Having watched them all through at once I don't think season 3 is any worse on the unrealistic drama and women talking fronts, it's just a bit more sci-fi overall. First 2 seasons had plenty of times when obviously mission control wouldn't let it happen IRL but because "astronauts have autonomy" or whatever it was they can do unprofessional shit anyway.
>how pozzed is it?
season 1 is surprisingly comfy
season 2 has the main characters wife cheating on him with a friends' son she helped raise (so basically incest) and it's depicted as something empowering
so if you're american/into cuckolding, sure you can watch it
>This literally didn't happen.
cope
there are zero repercussions for her and she becomes le successful businesswoman after that. also it was his fault because he was absent on his missions or something (even tho she cheated before he went on the mission kek)
>it's depicted as something empowering
no it isn't
that son is also portrayed as a huge scumbag for the rest of the series
look, I'm just not a fan of character assasination and that was one of the more egregious instances I've seen in television. If she was depicted like that from the beginning, nobody would care
Karen is by far the worst character on the show and the fact that she goes with a bang without ever having to face anything she did is the cherry on top. Her character arc is basically >I don't... le dream! Because I am a suburban mom who doesn't emote enough >Oh no, my son died! DUDE let's smoke some fricking weed lmao >Now I have a bar for some reason >come here, dead son's best friend, I have a sexual emergency >[season skip[ >OK I used to own a bar, I guess that makes me qualified to run a space empire for some reason >oh no, my space hotel got destroyed, let me just fall upwards real quick and become the grey eminence behind this universe's Space X >I will now die a hero trying to save people from a bomb threat
This b***h coasted through life without ever having to atone for anything
Literally did nothing wrong and died too young, should've gotten made CEO.

Literally cheated on her husband with her dead son's best friend you dumb moron, there isn't a single culture on this earth where this wouldn't be seen as somewhat in poor taste at least

He needed a mother figure after Tracy ate it and in Japanese culture the mother fricks the son so how about you respect their culture you FRICKING BIGOT??

>in Japanese culture the mother fricks the son
proofs?
>with a friends' son she helped raise (so basically incest)
sounds hot
You think today's Hollywood is capable of making something like that hot? They made one of the most cringe TV moments, I legit turned off the show and never went back
>season 2 has the main characters wife cheating on him with a friends' son she helped raise (so basically incest)
Incest is two close blood relatives fricking, dumbass. That's it.
The disgusting thing about incest is the relationship, not the genetic distance you brainlet. Nobody would say "yikes incest" if two people who don't know they are related are fricking, unless they obviously knew about it

That was a great twist but then they just forget about him after the first five minutes.
season 2 had the dumbest moment in the series when the woman astronaut pulled a gun on Ed in the finale
Yeah season 2 was already starting to have bad moments, like Danny banging the mom of his dead friend (like what the absolute frick was going through the writers' heads)
It's not that bad

It's not worse on the women talking fronts, it's worse in terms of writing, plain and simple. They get rid of Molly because they don't know what to do with her before giving her to most unsatisfying send off ever, the entire bomb plot is just pointless filler, the dialogue is just less polished overall. The entire romance between Kelly (why is she even there lmao) and the Russian guy is annoying. The Lesbian POTUS sublot takes like half of the runtime. The last scene where they strap a pregnant fricking woman to the hull of a spaceship to catapult her into space is straight out of Looney Tunes.
It has no redeeming qualities
I think I just got used to filtering out everything that wasn't directly to the space program 2bh
So by the time I got to season 3 it didn't make much difference that all the non-space stuff got more moronic
>like what the absolute frick was going through the writers' heads
thinly veiled fetish. probably happened to him when he was 7.
also he sad fans negative reactions to it made him double down on it the next season
It was the 10th anniversary of the death of Sally Ride so they wanted to make her look good by showing her trying to avert nuclear war. Anyway Ed is still the hero of the show and nothing ever detracted from that.
season 2 is pretty bad
gordo was the saving grace of it and I didn't like him in the 1st season
even the 1st season is very uneven
some of the character drama aside, stuff like >gets parachuted in and starts marching for hours >stumbles into another one who landed between you and the destination
??? >still manages to make the deadline ain't no thang
>In an alternate timeline in 1969, Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov becomes the first human to land on the Moon. This outcome devastates morale at NASA, but also catalyzes a U.S. effort to catch up. With the Soviet Union emphasizing diversity by including a woman in subsequent landings, the United States is forced to match pace, training women and minorities
Two seasons was enough. It was obvious they were going to keep upping the poz while shitting on actual men of accomplishment. It has nice visuals but the poz just got too thick.
>it becomes shit when they deviate from real history and try to make up their own
so from literally the opening scene when the soviets win the moon race?
that's literally the whole point of the series kek
>it becomes shit when they deviate from real history and try to make up their own
It's an alternate history series??? >for example space shuttles flying to the moon
Yes the whole point is what if the space race never ended >somehow a giant space hotel full of mining equipment goes to mars
They bought the technology of the space hotel not the actual hotel station
The space shuttle is designed for low earth orbit if nasa was flying to the moon they would build a new spacecraft or use an adaptation of the Saturn v
The producers of the show admitted the only reason they used the shuttle was to reuse existing sets
And it was the actual hotel they just put a rocket on it
>so the Norks were totally "we want to put the Chinese into this story but we're too scared to do it", right?
Pretty much. China is still mentioned in passing (setting up a moon base in the news reel montage) but it's one of those blink and you'll miss it moments and otherwise they have no presence in this show's timeline.
>In the mid-21st century, mankind has begun the exploration of space, and one company, Planet Catcher Corporation, has pioneered capturing asteroids and comets to mine the resources within them for use on Earth. On one such asteroid, Tortatis, lives 12-year-old Nanbu Ushiwaka - the only child ever to be born in space and survive. >But survival itself is no longer guaranteed - a military satellite triggers a disaster during a operation to capture Halley's Comet, and Ushiwaka and his fellow colonists must find a way to survive when both their country and their company abandon them. Can they escape before the nuclear reactor on the asteroid melts down? Or are they doomed to die as they lived, among the stars?
In all seriousness the final scene of season 2 where it zooms out, revealing Mars as the next destination with nirvana blasting was fricking kino and I still think about it
how pozzed is it?
very
"tI has w-women and b-black people!"
The Cinemaphilecel tears begin to fall.
The homewrecker lesbian plot was boring and stupid, as well as being gay. I want to watch rockets and spaceflight not dykes talking about their feelings, women are not (not) interesting.
normies watch everything for the drama
transgender astronaut in the very first fricking scene
why would you lie like that
I'm just bored

So it's not even out but we've got marketing team posting here, who have seen it and are quoting..
the theme song from the trailer.
Based take
You think today's Hollywood is capable of making something like that hot? They made one of the most cringe TV moments, I legit turned off the show and never went back
it was pretty painful to watch it happen cause it's telegraphed long before
it was like a car wreck of cringe in slow motion
>season 2 has the main characters wife cheating on him with a friends' son she helped raise (so basically incest)
Incest is two close blood relatives fricking, dumbass. That's it.

Wrong.

season 3 was redeemed by north korea in the end
I still can't believe that happened.
That was a great twist but then they just forget about him after the first five minutes.
Yeah season 2 was already starting to have bad moments, like Danny banging the mom of his dead friend (like what the absolute frick was going through the writers' heads)

thinly veiled fetish. probably happened to him when he was 7.

I forgot all about that. That was a really terrible scene that was overly dramatic and didn't make much sense.
season 2 is pretty bad
gordo was the saving grace of it and I didn't like him in the 1st season
even the 1st season is very uneven
some of the character drama aside, stuff like
>gets parachuted in and starts marching for hours

Extremely, and there's not enough space-kino to justify watching the rest.
it has women and Black folk in speaking roles, so naturally you will hate it
ewwwww
not only Black folk and women
but they speak?
im not going to watch it
unironically disgusting
My Dad watched this show and said it should've been titled All My Astronauts.
Female lesbian president of the United States,
>In an alternate timeline in 1969, Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov becomes the first human to land on the Moon. This outcome devastates morale at NASA, but also catalyzes a U.S. effort to catch up. With the Soviet Union emphasizing diversity by including a woman in subsequent landings, the United States is forced to match pace, training women and minorities
Good first season.First of all, the great story of Verner von Braun, and his contribution to the development of NASA.And space breasts.
Why are her breasts near her bellybutton? I thought there was no gravity in space?
That's the Moon base. Lower gravity but certainly not zero G. Just means it takes longer for a jiggle settle down.
did they simulate the low jiggle physics?
They just made her shirts tighter to compensate.
it's not very good
season 2 is much weaker still
nah
Two seasons was enough. It was obvious they were going to keep upping the poz while shitting on actual men of accomplishment. It has nice visuals but the poz just got too thick.
It's not great but watchable. A few actors are much better than others.
Could've done with some nudity from a few of the female characters.
Better than fricking Foundation. At its absolute worst, the writing in For All Mankind is still leagues above that shitshow.
Foundation tries to do too much too fast.
Pathetic.
I knew you were going to post him, because he's literally the only redeemable part of the show and only half the time. Pathetic.
nice Guess im watching this show then. two big reasons right there and who am i to argue basic gravity.
>black lesbians on the moon
>black lesbians on the moooon
only one black woman on the moon in the series and she was straight unless I somehow memoryholed something
it becomes shit when they deviate from real history and try to make up their own
for example space shuttles flying to the moon
somehow a giant space hotel full of mining equipment goes to mars
the only interesting thing in the later seasons is the nork suicide mission
>it becomes shit when they deviate from real history and try to make up their own
so s01e01?
>it becomes shit when they deviate from real history and try to make up their own
so from literally the opening scene when the soviets win the moon race?
that's literally the whole point of the series kek
The first season is just a continuation of the Apollo program
>it becomes shit when they deviate from real history and try to make up their own
It's an alternate history series???
>for example space shuttles flying to the moon
Yes the whole point is what if the space race never ended
>somehow a giant space hotel full of mining equipment goes to mars

Black folk on the moon Gil Scott Heroin Recolored.
aside from the black lady I can't actually remember any black people on the moon base tbqh
We left a guy to die in the crashed north korean ship.
>vonkino is in it for 5 minutes only
colm pulled it 3 tiers above its weight
the only one who had any leg to stand with him was Frank Sobotka
I watch for Aleidass
>Aleidass
Who's she?
No i will watch anime instead.

>a 2 episode OVA from 1995 which has terrible ratings
Ratings mean little with old stuff. GITS and Akira are barely 8.
It's decent.
Wernher Von Braun did nothing wrong and is a national hero!
HE WAS A BRAVE GERMAN SCIENTIST AND IN THIS HOUSE WERNER VON BRAUN IS A HERO. END OF STORY.
For All Mankind is the best real space TV series since Men Into Space back in 1959.
Ah yes. The unattractive nerd played by Wrenn Schmidt.
too much diversity. i'm not their audience
In all seriousness the final scene of season 2 where it zooms out, revealing Mars as the next destination with nirvana blasting was fricking kino and I still think about it
Season 1 and 2 are mostly good, but season 3 kind of falls of a cliff halfway through.
It has never been the same after best boy left.
