i do, and enjoy them.
i remember seeing kung fu hustle with my pal when i worked at the theatre in high school, still one of my favorites. the musician scene is a masterpiece
Yeah, but i mean even ignoring the inherent goofiness that feeling of heroic triumph is almost completely absent.
Capeshit makes the tension-less, committee designed, focused group tested quipfest. Somehow Chow manages to make things goofy in one scene and tense in another.

I love that so much. He somehow manages to make things insanely nuts but also make you care at the same time.
Got into a rabbit hole of chinese Actresses being disgraced and it's pretty fricking brutal what happens to them. To see such beautiful Women falling from grace is insane, kind of like the old Hollywood stories of former actresses.

It's really another world. In the US if an actor does coke, crashes a car and beats up a waiter, he goes into rehab and comes out with a sob story that makes him even more popular. In China, one affair just annihilates you. Christ, if we did what they do, 80% of our actors would be fired.

The Women got the short end of the stick though with their reputations getting dragged to the dirt. Katherine Hepburn comes to mind but she was a massive GIGA Stacy she managed to bounce back.

based of china if you ask me. maintains moral hygiene and besides they've got plenty of people to replace the ones that get kicked out
Chinese movies are the best asian movies
>Makes really succesful kino comedies in your way
Shaolin soccer chads where you at?
It's amazing that he can top that masterpiece with another masterpiece which is kung fu Hustle
Rankings:
Shaolin Soccer Brads
Kung Fu Hustle Chads
Forbidden City Cop Gods
The first journey to the west movie was awesome.
Haven't seen his movies since CJ7
Bcs that’s when he started to drop off
I liked CJ17, it was heartwarming, even if different from his previous work. And Journey To The West was xianxia kino.
>Decree of the Sichuan General plays as the masters fight Sun Wukong
Pure unfiltered kino
You're not missing anything tbh, he's lost his spark
>Lost his spark
Coincidentally, Everything after CJ also didn't have Chow as an actor.
Anyway, The Mermaid & Journey to The West are still so successful in China.
