In the case of the pomni thread it was because the autist in question took a picture of the kid and notably first saw the kid from a distance meaning he would have to be actively looking at her long enough to identify the pomni plush before subtly getting closer to take the picture
even then it's not creepy to see kids in public, look at kids or observe that a kid is carrying something kinda unusual

I think the interesting thing to consider is that Hazbin has a lot in common with modern cartoons aimed at kids, it just adds sex, drugs, and blood to it

Its funny how alot of adult cartoons are somewhat weirdly more wholesome these days. Shows like smiling friends have characters like pim who are genuinely pure stuck in a fricked up world where the humor comes from their interactions with all these other fricked up kooky characters. Kinda reminds me of early simpsons in a way where its like edgy and cynical but at the end of the day Homer is still a good person at heart
