It was a solid dark fantasy movie but it was not a Solomon Kane movie. Really felt like they were afraid to touch on his hardcore religious aspects in a positive light like in the stories.

It's probably my favourite score ever. You get the opening, Conan's village getting killed, the wheel of pain and the gladiator pit and they all sound tremendous. And the way the music softens during Conan's prayer to Crom is sublime. It's a masterpiece.

I didn't like it when I was 15. Too cheesy. I think you have to see it from a different angle, for me it was catching the opening (no dialogue for almost 10 minutes) on TV and noticing how magnetic it is. The music, costumes, performances. The movie is impossible to enjoy without giving up preconceptions about what it should be
I saw it for the first time at 15 as well, in the theater in 1982. Maybe I loved it then because I wasn't jaded and over-entertained, like young people are now
