It's sort of like Seinfeld S1&2 where it's mostly good but the characters/overall vibe is very different from what the show is known for. Hank has remnants of Mr. Anderson from Beavis & Butt-Head.

I was going to kill myself in July after finding out my father had terminal cancer, and I went to a motel and was going to get really drunk and then just do it, but when I turned on the TV this show was on, and it was a marathon or something. It cheered me up and I didn't do it. Thanks Hank.
His wife doesn't let me around him and if I were to just "show up" she wouldn't let him see my younger sisters. I also don't want to stress him out. A nice nurse let me sneak in after hours and kiss him on the forehead really quick last week though. He doesn't have much time.
