With the amount of cameras, phone tracking and advances in DNA technology it practically is impossible to get away with murder if the cops actually throw resources in solving it.

You bring your phone with you, the cops immediately know if you were in the victims house. Maybe you don't bring your phone with you and the cops have to get doorbell and ATM cameras from the neighborhood - guess who the prime suspect is after they rule out all the people whose phone data shows they went nowhere near the victim's house. Maybe you get an accomplice to carry your phone around or something but then you run the risk of them snitching and good luck trying to explain why your phone was on the other part of town when you were spotted three blocks from the victim's house.

As for DNA with those gene banks and ancestry databases it's practically guaranteed you'll be identified unless your entire family lived innawoods for the past 4 generations or something.

The first thing you'd probably notice if you were to try to kill your girlfriend would be how messy it is and how hard it is to actually finish off someone in the first place, which would throw anyone off their intial plan, I would imagine. Actually, all you have to do is put her in a decent BJJ chokehold for about 10 seconds, then kneel on her neck for 2 minutes after she passes out. You can actually feel the heart slowing down. It's pretty cool.

To get rid of the body, wrap in chicken wire, carry to your car at night, and dump in the nearest running body of water that has fish. The chicken wire stops the body from floating while letting the fish pick at it.

The real crimes are committed by groups of people. Random morons aren’t beholden to criminal organizations beholden to rules of conduct, which developed over hundreds of years. These groups are also more successful. So they don’t rely on low-inhibition people with a low or mid IQ. And they don’t just kill randomly. They leave „civilians“ alone. They only kill people, who talk and not because of psycho-sexual reasons or whatever.

Most people don't kill unless they have a good motive. The motive is always the most obvious part. For anyone that doesn't have neighbors, it always seemed super easy to get rid of bodies. You can look up all the steps to strip flesh by looking up deer bone bleaching videos, and from there you just need a furnace capable of melting iron (roundabouts same temp to ash destroy bone). Set up a garden, plant plants and fertilize them. Ez.

You can't act your way out of an interrogation when the cops know you're guilty from square one because you have the most obvious motive on the planet, with evidence to back it up.
