Nobody is forcing you to follow the rules when making a movie, dear dumbass. It’s only if you want to compete for an award everyone already in public claims they don’t care about.
So what’s the issue, other than getting triggered that an industry that has always hated to do representation outside of white straight men have some superfluous requirements they have to meet if they want to be considered for a trophy?
