weird way to write a screenplay

Why is the screenplay written in first person?

Why not? It's a perfectly valid way of doing it. And as OP pointed out, the ACTIONS are written in all caps to give the actors and idea of what the current motivation is without being overly specific. It's actually an interesting approach.

Nolan is a pretentious hack. This is Tarantino tier self-important garbage. Screenplays are an insider document meant to be read by the people making the movie, it's like the script for a stage play, it's supposed to contain simple actions, directions and dialogue. Even things like camera angles and movements, unless absolutely necessary, are considered bad form because you're telling the director how to direct the movie, unless you're a writer/director. And if you are, then you write them as an aid to remember how to shoot it, so why would you write it in the first person? Writing it in the first person betrays literary aspirations. It means he wrote it for readers, to be read by reddit fanboys so they would fawn over how innovative and genius he is for doing it.

Yeah you definitely have no idea what you're talking about. None whatsoever. Rarely do screenplays include stage directions and there's absolutely zero rules for how they need to be formatted. All you need to do is properly communicate the story. Some screenplays break the fourth wall and talk to their audience, some screenplays are all dialogue and hardly any direction. Some screenplays are very descriptive about the environments and the actions, some are very minimalist.

A lot of directors actually hate when they see a screenplay giving technical directions because they believe that's their job to figure out where to place the camera and capture the right mood.

I get that being on Cinemaphile has become predicated on having the most contrarian and cynical perspective on everything, but you still look like a moron when you're talking out of your ass.

Because a screenplay is essentially a list of instructions for the actors and director. I don't want my furniture assembly manuals talking about their thoughts and feelings either.

Critics praised Oppenheimer primarily for its screenplay, the performances of the cast (particularly Murphy and Downey), and the visuals;[164][165] it was frequently cited as one of the best films of 2023[164] and of the century,[166] although some criticism was aimed towards the writing of the female characters.[164] On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 93% of 467 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 8.6/10. The website's consensus reads: "Oppenheimer marks another engrossing achievement from Christopher Nolan that benefits from Murphy's tour-de-force performance and stunning visuals."[167] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 88 out of 100, based on 69 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".[168] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 88 out of 100, based on 69 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".[168] Audiences surveyed by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "A" on an A+ to F scale, while those polled at PostTrak gave it a 93% overall positive score, with 74% saying they would definitely recommend the film.[148]

Never had sex. Do people really put their weenies into hoohas until they pee white stuff? And if the girl enjoys it she also pees? And somehow this is how baby is formed?

Sorta but what happens it's when you're 19 you get drunk with your milfy Korean neighbor and then she teaches you how to get a woman off through a combination of oral, fingering and hard fricking, then sucks your soul out of your teenage penis. Also later when you both shower together she puts you on your knees and pisses in your mouth.

At least that's how it went for me
