Why are capeshit movies now primarily using terrible modern comics as their base when there's decades worth of good stories from the 60s - 90s worth using?

don't we always complain that they only remake good things instead of trying to improve and redeem failed ones?
Given that even a successful superhero movie franchise will probably not run past 3-4 movies before the stars move on and it reboots, and given that there are decades of source material to draw from, most people would likely prefer they take inspiration from the good source material rather than trying to re-work the crap into something better. The MCU's recent addiction to adapting bad stories and bad characters from the 2000s and 2010s is just baffling and depressing when there's so much earlier material they could use.

while I suppose there's truth to that for a series like deadpool a bad story might have a lot more room to lampoon things than a good one though.

To try and sell modern comics is my guess.

Anything past the 90s is "modern" because we never actually left the Dark Age of comics.

No? I've literally never seen someone post that.

>Morrison
>one of the worst
Ok contrarian

2 decades ago you fricking boomer.
there's people people working in x-men comics that were born before cassandra nova was created.
Nah, it's probably going to be her trying to get revenge on Earth 616 for MoM.
We could have just had a Deadpool sequel. Instead they chose this.
Bendis, Rosenbaum, and Hickman have written X-Men, ergo it cannot be one of the worst arcs
As awful as they are, there are worse writers.
And Morrison is not one of them
Except when he's at Marvel. To varying levels, those other runs are bad because they're walking in his shadow.
Morrison is not gay iceman tier, no matter what excuses you make
That stupid shit is actually going to be in a movie? Hopefully they just have her be a telepath villain and never mention any connection with Xavier.
Why tho isn't there enough going on with wolverine and multiverse stuff ?
