I don't get this at all. It's a video of the concert but as a movie? Why the frick would you watch that? Going to a concert is already barely understandable but paying to watch an hour long movie of one seems insane.

It's on a big screen, a bit like front row seats, or at least better seats than they would ever get in a concert. And it's America so they are probably singing and dancing along and getting "crazy" with their fellow sisters, women would undoubtedly enjoy that kind of social event. Be prepared to see more of this kind of thing as they are cheap to make, profitable, and women have more free time and money than ever.

Imagine if he was israeli like modern artists, Off the Wall, Thriller, Dangerous, History and Bad all sold over 25 million. He could have re-released Thriller like 3 more times during the 80s or bundled it together with Off the Wall as a compilation and made gangbusters. Ticket prices for concerts could have been cranked up to 200 dollars per ticket, they'd all sell out instantly. Rather than booking other venues he could have just done Wembley Stadium or MSG 50 times to maximize profits.

The one thing I noticed that could be bad if this becomes common is that its not a good idea to turn movie theaters into music concert halls. While watching Godzilla yesterday you could hear the subwoofer booming from the Beyonce movie, even though we were separated by a hallway and another movie theater. Wish was playing next door and I'm sure they heard the base noise even worse. You could hear it from the hallway too.

None of the movies this Beyonce film beat are major new releases. Its competition are holdovers and a sub-only Godzilla movie. $21 million wouldn't even be impressive for horror schlock. The Taylor Swift one did big numbers, but the odds of that being replicated by someone else is low.
Napoleon, Wish and Hunger Games are major movies that cost hundreds of millions. They all lost to a concert film after just 1 week. Not sure what you're on about
