Meanwhile, my cat, she is an absolute angel, she does not scratch or hiss, EVER unless she is threatened. You can walk right past her face, like, within inches of her, and she still won't swat at your leg like some butthole unpredictable cats will just as you're walking by them.

My cat is a schizo cat now because my dad would use his hands to play with her and it didn't bother him if she clawed him, so now whenever people try to pet her she gets bipolar about being touched cause she thinks hands are toys.

Yeah I adopted my cat when she was already an adult. Not sure who owned her previously but I suspected it might have been a very old person who died while she was in the house possibly (she was apparently traumatized when she got to the rescue place and they had to rehabilitate her before letting her up for adoption)...she loved being petted and brushed, but do NOT pick her up bc she can't stand that! She allows me to pick her up but that's only bc she knows I won't hold her for long but still she only tolerates it like 15 seconds or so. She never scratches furniture (!) at all. She also will go run and hide if loud noises (such as me yelling or being angry, not necessarily at her, just in general, also during thunder storms she will hunker down somewhere)
We tried to let her outside but some Tom cat kicked her ass so that was the end of that! Which is crazy bc she is a huge cat, like 12 lbs.
I feel like a cat obsessed person talking about my cat so much now haha. I have 2 kids so my cat takes a back seat to them now of course, but I was obsessed with her when I first adopted her 5 years ago lol
Mine was a barn cat Maine coon that we adopted as a kitten. Sweetest little thing that loved being petted, she was adorable. Around that time I left for the military and when I came back she was just this spiteful b***h of a cat that didn't recognize me and was super anxious about being touched.
I think other than my dad playing with her too hard, something must have gone wrong with her getting spayed because that wasn't the cat I knew.
I also had another cat, big orange fricker that didn't like anyone else but me. I'd use to wear him on the back of my neck like a scarf and he'd just chill like that, so I'd ride around my neighborhood on my bike with him. He caught a bat and it gave him some sort of disease. Died while I was gone and never got to say goodbye. Miss that big guy every day.
