We are witnessing a god-like Star Wars Renaissance. It's the best time to be a fan since the 70s
I feel nothing but sympathy for the people who refuse to accept that

Yeah, I'm getting really tired of Filonis reign, and the fact he can't let go of his favorite toys. I'm ready for him to move on.
>Andor
>Andor if it was good
very useful image, mind if I save it?
Haha, it's all yours friend!
If you have an IQ in the 70s, sure
Nothing but sympathy for you
dood BABY YODAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
You're in your 40s-50s, old man.
good one bro
Nothing more needs to be said than this. Anything else besides a sequel to Knights of the Old Republic II or a Republic Commandos remake should be purged in divine fire with the rest of the mouse-shills.
>god-like Star Wars Renaissance
lol 5 cents have been deposited in your account. the last trilogy was a disjoint frantic mess and the TV shows have all found new and interesting ways to be bad.
Disney killed Star Wars and is now raping its corpse while shitting in your mouth and you call it a renaissance.
have a nice day, cuck.
Andor is genuinely one of the best shows ever written/created. It's written and directed by the House of Cards/Nightcrawler guys.
They need to do an old republic political drama
A Ruusan Reformation political drama with the tone of Andor would actually be godlike
>we'll never get a show about the events leading up to the trade embargo that kicks off TPM
I think that may very well be what pic related is about. There's quite a large emphasis on the trade federation in the trailer
that game is set in the high republic and iirc takes place before the acolyte show, which is set 100 years before the phantom menace and is said to be the end of the era.
True true, but we also don't know how deep the confliction with the trade federation runs. I could see the embargo being the boiling point of a larger issue that began a hundred years or so prior.
>we also don't know how deep the confliction with the trade federation runs
i can tell you exactly how long the the conflict went on before phantom menace
- sheev is born 80 years before phantom menace
- somewhere around 10 to 20 years prior he hooks up with the trade federation
- shenanigans start within a year of the film
homework's done.
>- sheev is born 80 years before phantom menace
Wait, what? Wasn't he like 60 at best in Phantom Menace? No way he was 80 then, because it would make him almost 100 when he took over.
>because it would make him almost 100 when he took over.
right you are anon, sheev makes extensive use of the dark side to hide his age and power level
you're right that the tensions could have started before that, and iirc there was prior shit but the blockade started in phantom menace was a recent event.
Im just saying that tensions could have started long before that, and he just took advantage of an existing grievance
It peaked with the prison arc.
Final episode left off at a weird and unsatisfying point.
>Andor is genuinely one of the best shows ever written/created.
yep its up there with the sopranos and bb, not even joking
I liked it more than breaking bad, but no way it's better than sopranos.
yeah all im saying is its one of the top kino shows
You people are so easy to trick.
>Andor is genuinely one of the best shows ever written/created. It's written and directed by the House of Cards/Nightcrawler guys.
Andor was decent, suffered from pacing problems, and had a few genuinely great bits. Mandalorian S1 had a few decent moments but soon degenerated into the usual Filoni trash. Everything else ranges from boring to downright awful.
You're not sympathizing with me, you condescending reddit frickstain. Get back to your containment zone, homosexual.
The empty room applauds.
>It's the best time to be a fan since the 70s
everything but andor sucks though
Nobody is watching this garbage. Cope.
Star Wars is dead.
You have my sympathy
And you have my reddit gold kind stranger
big oof from me chud
This will be what makes or breaks it
either they won't be in it or they'll be deepfaked to hell
>but it's their ability to be purely experimental with the franchise that makes them so kino
haven't seen the second season but most of the first season was rubbish. only the ninth jedi or w/e it was called was actually worthwhile, and the kurosawa one i suppose.
this
the only nu wars that has george's approval is rebels and rogue one
>Rebels gets his approval
>But not Mando which he was actively on set for and making decisions
Just because Disney pays him a frickton of cash to sit on set and drink coffee doesn’t mean he had anything to do with it.
A lot happens in post production
So what makes his involvement on Rebels any stronger?
I don’t give a frick. I didn’t even acknowledge that trash exists.
let me course correct for a moment
when writing rebels, dave consulted george on every major decision and george gave him the yesses and nos. george was invited to the set of mando s1 and 2 and definitely imparted some wisdom to dave and jon (as well as fingerbanging rosario) but he was not consulted on any writing.
>he was not consulted on any writing.
that's because dave filoni is as bad as him, so they had everything they needed
dave also did not write mando, it was jon's baby from the start and jon consulted dave, or rather as i understand it dave interjected when he felt it necessary.
yeah mando season 1 was pretty good, but man did it devolve after that
This right here.
Only bringing back the Big 3 for the Thrawn Trilogy will save Star Wars
I believe Thrawn is unseparable from Big Three - he was an underdog in the story and he served to shake the main heroes out of their stupor after they defeated Palpatine.
It's literally exactly the opposite of what Disney does with him now.
Luke, Leia, and Han are Star Wars. Bring them back. NOW
What's the bottom right?
Screechers Reach episode of Visions
Aren't Visions explicitly non-canon per Disney? Or did they change that for the second season?
They're non-canon, yes. Every episode is basically handing the reigns to a different animation studio and asking them what they would do if they had complete creative control. They're pretty rad on the whole.
They aren't canon, but it's their ability to be purely experimental with the franchise that makes them so kino
throwing star wars paint on a bunch of infantile shonen tranime tropes isn't experimental.
some cartoon for man children
that denial.
Tales deserves more recognition
The 3D is ugly
Youre ugly
It looks good but honestly I don't see why it needed to be Filoni 3D when Bad Batch is already doing that.
I'd rather they went with a clean 2d style.
its 1997 barbie movie teir 3d animation.
I liked it, wish it was a bit longer.
If it was a just a straight Dooku series would’ve been perfect but muh Ahsoka.
Too bad Filoni had to insert his waifu into the show.
If it wasn’t written or approved by Lucas, it’s not Star Wars
Simple as.
>post-RotS george
>crystal skull
>red tails
he should have handed down star wars to lucasfilm in 2005 instead of giving the PT the special edition treatment. he was shit long before he sold the company to the israelites
Regardless, Star Wars is his creation and without his direction, it cannot be called star wars
The fact of the matter is that George deliberately chose Kathleen Kennedy to run his company, and trained Dave Filoni for decades to be his replacement on the creative side.
Everything being released gets George's approval by proxy. This has always been his plan for the franchise.
The exception is the Sequel Trilogy, which is the only project that was made against his graces.
He also told Bob Iger, AND Michael Eisner years earlier, that Disney is the only company he would ever sell the franchise to.
You don't have to like Disney Star Wars, but it's pretty much exactly what George wanted.
George has already come out, multiple times, expressing his disdain for the Sequel Trilogy and the overall direction of the franchise since Disney took it
not only that but there was an article back around 2001 where he expressed how badly corporate star wars would be. anon thinks george wanted star wars to go to disney when in reality george sold it knowing what would happen and did it to curbstomp the prequel haters.
>did it to curbstomp the prequel haters.
Prequel haters deserve all the hurt they can get.
Nah, it’s all garbage and the fluff you just posted is PR slop meant to signal a passing of the torch to consumers and investors to try and reassure them.
Empty gestures and Star Wars has been dead creatively well before Disney bought it. Why do you think George cashed out?
Kathleen's been there since the 80s too
Kathy please go
Don't worry, Nerdrotic and Doomwiener say it will happen any moment now! I mean, after repeating that for 5 years now, it has to happen at some point!
>Don't worry, Nerdrotic and Doomwiener say it will happen any moment now! I mean, after repeating that for 5 years now, it has to happen at some point!
Anyone else would have been fired by now given her track record. She's a great producer but a shitty creative. It's good that she stays on to just cement her failure that much more.
>Don't worry, Nerdrotic and Doomwiener say it will happen any moment now! I mean, after repeating that for 5 years now, it has to happen at some point!
its typical chud behavior, and they will say how right they were if it happens
get the billionaire wiener out of your mouth
he changed his mind all the fricking time and went back to make bad changes to his films and went on to make bad films
money can change men's minds
Oh okay he must have changed his mind. My bad anon, you definitely aren't coping at all
anyone else want to frick that potato, or is it just me?
>Everything being released gets George's approval by proxy
that was the deal when he was still set to be a creative consultant on the initial batch of films
the only movie he's given confirmed positive buzz for was rogue one, and that's because he visited the set and did his usual shit of "hey you should do this" and it made gareth edwards cum in pant on the spot
kathllen kennedy did not work for lucasfilm until her replacement of george. she was a "producer" on the indiana jones films because she was frank marshall's frick buddy and spielberg's coffee girl. the b***h is literally credited as being spielberg's assistant.
>Why do you think George cashed out?
to give the haters exactly what they wanted while he made off
George Lucas has said that he lost control of Star Wars and that it's going off in a different path than he intended and that only the first six movies are his. Go have a nice day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdAjkHJLfpk
>and trained Dave Filoni for decades to be his replacement on the creative side.
lol
>Everything being released gets George's approval by proxy. This has always been his plan for the franchise.
So if they ever introduce Mara Jade and make her Luke love interest, it will retroactivly become Lucas decission?
if you pay enough money, he'll do anything
They hated him because he told the truth.
but the prequels are ass and the only good movies that matter if are Star Wars (1977) and Empire Strikess back
This. Reading books about Star Wars is just not something any self-respecting person would do. I had that figured out at 10, wtf is wrong with morons on here.
It's not a Renaissance unless they're movies you dumb mother fricker. We're the 70s released in episodes on TV at fucjing home, no. So stfu and don't even start with that aren't these like full length movies thats just not the god damn point here. Until something comes along in the theaters there is no fricking Renaissance. Who the frick even uses that word?
>It's not a Renaissance unless they're movies you dumb mother fricker
Who the frick cares about movies?
You clearly missed the point and are clearly too moronic to appreciate the word.
Star Wars has always been an episodic series where each episode happened to be a 2 hour theatrical release.
Television is the natural home for the franchise until there is another major galactic-event storyline, but even then I wouldn't consider it necessary
>Blandor
>Visions
No thanks.
its just become so obvious that these new feloni shows are basically cartoon teir storytelling with lots of money. its a tragedy of waste. we could of had good star wars shows
>we could of had good star wars shows
In what universe? Not in the one Disney bought it, that's for sure.
imagine if Andor season two crosses over with Asoka lmao. God me really worried seeing Mon Mothma in this latest episode
>In what universe? Not in the one Disney bought it, that's for sure.
they would have to break free of the everything has to fit in the same universe of storytelling that marvel made famous.
it could be solved with
>A long time ago, in another galaxy far far away....
which appears to be what Daves movies will be lmao. they are giving him his new universe and I want to die
TWO MORE WEEKS BROS
I know Star Wars Fan/HATE boys are literally insane however.
TFA = shit repeat of ANH
TLJ = actually good movie
ROTS = problematic however OK.
Mandalorian = mostly mech-OK-ish
Ashoka = good no paper drag with no real delivery to this point.
The star wars TV shows are OK-ish trash to watch.
>Renaissance
Whats the best one and why?
>Admiral blue alien
OK what is so great about him? Everyone acts like he is ultra Hitler 2.0 however he literally did nothing and literally the only threat is that all imperials will obey him .... for some reason.
Star wars was never good and Disney Wars only show up in the meh to average rating.
With so many shows Star Wars will burn out faster then MCU who is a joke/insult in everyone's vocabulary at this point.
Filoni won. We won.
>who will be the man who cucks McGregor
I wish it was me.
what does the A mean?
90s and early 2000s was the best time to be a SW fan. You had the best home releases of the films still easily available and you had an incredibly passionate and talented collection of autists making video games and books and encyclopedias and shit.
>We are witnessing a god-like Star Wars Renaissance.
No we're not. We're watching Star Wars devour its own tail. The sequel trilogy is such a failure that people genuinely prefer a ginger homosexual from Souls clone videogames over the main heroine of a mainline Star Wars trilogy. Solo was a certified bomb. The Disney+ shows took characters like Bobba Fett and Kenobi and made them utterly pathetic. Mandalorian became a side character in his own show. The Ahsoka show's only victory is casting Ray Stevenson - the rest of the show is girl power crap attempting to steal better stories (Heir to the Empire) except replacing the original characters with the girlbosses, and pandering hard with prequel/TCW nostalgia to 2000s kids.
The only decent show of the Disney+ had 0 viewership because it's not full of moronic key jingling which is what Star Wars want.
>The only decent show of the Disney+ had 0 viewership because it's not full of moronic key jingling which is what Star Wars want.

meatheads shouldn't be involved with star wars, just like meathead chuds like rogan shouldn't be involved with standup comedy
Wrong. The world belong to meatheads and geniuses. Midwits on the other hand need to shut the frick up.
>Midwits on the other hand need to shut the frick up.
so why are you speaking?
Remember how people pissed themselves from joy, over force awakens, even thought it was just ANH 2.0? People don't want anything new, they just want what they already know over and over again.
I can't wait until the older generations age out and the younger generations drop star wars like the piece of over dried shit that it is because they simply don't give a single frick about some boomer IP that's like a hundred years old
I'm so fricking sick of hearing about star wars all the time.
i want new shit as well but everytime i see a Black person say "andor is the best star wars since empire" i want to jump out a fricking window. i haven't actually seen the show but seeing it get those ratings from fans makes me want to avoid it and i'll watch it when nobody talks about it anymore.
>i haven't seen this thing people like which makes me very angry at the thing
quintessentially Cinemaphile
I'll say this every time; Andor was good completely by accident, just like Mandolorian S1 was good by accident.
Disney don't understand what makes a star wars thing good, just look at how Mando & boba fett got completely fricking trashed.
see now that's how you market a show. that actually piques my interest.
i'm not angry at the show, i'm angry at the idiots who can't sell it properly.
Where they made a mistake, is not calling Mandalorian "Boba Fett" show. All you have to do is change the name, and make few small tweaks here and there, and boom. Perfect Boba Fett story. But then, they called it "Mandalorian", and frick themselves by doing it, and had to come up with something else for Boba.
The 'mistake' was that this almost compeltely unrelated show set in the SW universe suddenly became more popular than three fricking moveis Didney had just pumped billions into, so come season 2 the show had to involve every single character and location that they coudl cram in there to make it crucial to the future of the franchise, and before you know it you've got CGI luke skywalkers face stuck on someone's elses body
the mandalorian was originally pitched as a boba fett show but favreau was denied using boba fett because disney didn't know what to do with him. so the character was redesigned, then he threw in the boba fett tease and after the show was a big success disney realized there was a market for boba fett and we were allowed to have him return. these morons literally bought a company they know nothing about apart from it has the ability to make money.
>I'll say this every time; Andor was good completely by accident, just like Mandolorian S1 was good by accident.
>Disney don't understand what makes a star wars thing good, just look at how Mando & boba fett got completely fricking trashed.
Doesn't even matter if the shows are good or not because...NOBODY IS WATCHING THEM.
The ratings are total shit.
https://thedirect.com/article/ahsoka-star-wars-viewership-shows-data
"Viewership data from Samba TV revealed that 1.2M households watched Ahsoka over the course of its first six days on Disney+.
Comparatively, The Book of Boba Fett had 1.9 million viewers in its first six days. Obi-Wan Kenobi mustered up 2.14 million in its first four days.
As for The Mandalorian, the flagship show pulled in 2.08 million people in the first four days of its Season 2 premiere, while Season 3 only got 1.6 million within that same timeframe."
Star Wars had magic when it was special.
It was special when a movie came out only every 10 or 20 years.
Now, pumping a series out every 6 months like clockwork?
That's not special.
No wonder no-one cares. "oh another Star Wars thing has come out? I guess i'll watch it at some point"
The same thing happened to Marvel... no-one gives a shit anymore.
>The same thing happened to Marvel... no-one gives a shit anymor
Exactly right on this as well. When you had a driving narrative like Thanos people could watch threads from the movie.
Now nobody cares about Kang, and there is no compelling thread in SW.
>Now, pumping a series out every 6 months like clockwork?
>That's not special.
>No wonder no-one cares. "oh another Star Wars thing has come out? I guess i'll watch it at some point"
You see this in DC as well. They have a Flash show and then a Flash movie months later? Nobody cares.
You just had Ms Marvel TV show last year(?) in a FAILED SHOW and now she's in a new movie. How do you think that will go? It will go poorly.
Studios need to know they can only have characters at CERTAIN INTERVALS. You can't have 5 SW shows and then a live action movie on the same characters. Nobody cares.
George made Leia the chosen one in his sequel pitch. I don't want to hear it from you, fake fan
george lucas star wars died with the phantom menace. If you grew up with fake star wars I feel bad for you,
Aren't you like in your 50s right now?
watch your cartoons kid
Name one similarity between Heir to the Empire and the Ahsoka arc beyond the most basic concept of "including Thrawn".
I swear you EUtists don't actually know anything about star wars
>the rest of the show is girl power crap attempting to steal better stories (Heir to the Empire) except replacing the original characters with the girlbosses
This will 100% fail as we are seeing. SW is predominantly a male fantasy series, women just don't care about the show in enough numbers to make it relevant.
They can keep trying for 100 years, it will matter 0%.
Eventually they will retool and move to appeal to boys/men; or the franchise will die. That is their choice.
Darth Vader is black, why is Luke white?
blacks are evil and whites are everything good, haven't you been paying attention?
so.... coal is evil and cocaine is good?
yes coal burners go to hell and coke is the white man's drug.
Frick off Disney shill.
we are witnessing ass
>child-bearing hips
>no children borne
many such cases!
her hips are standard, her thighs are sexy tho, massive ass - she's the real life ideal milf we all came to in 2d drawings
i just checked and she has 1 kid with ewan, born 2 years ago. so she's still physically in peak condition.
wow, extremely superior in term of genes
She did have a baby with Ewan
as I watched the latest episode I imagined I was back in the 1990s, and a time traveler showed me the show from the future and said THIS is star wars in 2023 and I couldn't stop crying at how bad it is.
>renaissance
It's just television dude. Yes, even Andor. Stop overrating an inferior format, none of this shit will measure up to Lucas' movies.
>Renaissance
Dude the franshise is literally unable to move forward.
We're getting endless sequels to prequels to the OT and endless sequels to prequele to the ST.
It's just drilling down and down into a shithole.
That's not a renaissance.
That's circling the drain.
That's just Disney sucking the blood out of the IP before it has no profit left, because they need exclusive content for their streaming service.
In other words- fricking cope more
Didn't they just introduce a new galaxy and have 3 new eras being established in the upcoming projects?
They announce all sort of bullshit all the time.
Most of it never sees the light of day
this
rian's trilogy is on hold
taika's film is possibly now dead
patty jenkins' rogue squadron is kill
that supposed knights of ren show is never gonna happen
My favorite part is that those shows are fantastic, when they don't focuns on the title characters.
>We are witnessing a god-like Star Wars Renaissance. It's the best time to be a fan since the 70s
Nobody cares about these dipshit shows or characters which is why the ratings are so poor. It's too inward looking and not broad enough.
All these shows are going bye-bye; they are just working through the Chapek queue. They are WAY too expensive for what they deliver, which is hundreds of thousands (instead of millions) of people watching them.
Iger was still CEO during some of this shit so it'll no different.
>Iger was still CEO during some of this shit so it'll no different.
Yeah but now Iger can blame Chapek. They are going to put all this shit on hold. I mean no new SW movies in years, why is that?
Disney+ is LOSING subs, these shows have shit ratings.
Iger has a chance to retool and he will and blame Chapek.
Honestly they should've just made more cartoons. They are a lot cheaper and all of these shows (all of them) would've worked better as cartoons. I don't hate filoni but he's a cartoon guy.
>Honestly they should've just made more cartoons. They are a lot cheaper and all of these shows (all of them) would've worked better as cartoons. I don't hate filoni but he's a cartoon guy.
Totally agree. You could have made any show as a cartoon for a fraction of the budget.
I can seem them moving back toward that, they are absolutely GOING to have to retool and cut budgets because Disney is getting ABSOLUTELY MURDERED by their franchises.
Yeah Filoni couldve gotten waaaaaay more mileage out of the same budget with a cartoon, hell they probably could've done a lot more with the entire streaming platform by just making them all cartoons. I can see that actually working out. The streaming shows like Bad Batch and Tales and even Rebels/TCW seemed reasonably popular, why not make all of Disney+ SW catalog cartoons? Way cheaper overhead and you can get far more experimental. The movies should be live action. They also need to massively expand their presence with video games. Fallen Order sold very well and Jedi Survivor was credited with carrying EA's entire year in shareholders meetings, they need to do more of that and seem to be given they gave the rights to Ubisoft as well. I think as people age they honestly kind of age out of the live action movies but the games and shows can be more experimental thus enticing those viewers back in.
>I think as people age they honestly kind of age out of the live action movies but the games and shows can be more experimental thus enticing those viewers back in.
Yeah exactly. Cartoons can be of a certain flavor but you can try different concepts very easily.
The problems with the entire SW universe are:
1 Too repetitive conceptually
2 Not appealing to boys/men, trying to "girlboss" when the original appeal / the action genre appealed to boys/young men
3 Too inward looking. Ahsoka was a minor character on a show that was ALREADY CANCELED. Who is this show appealing to? Spinoffs RARELY work.
4 Budgets way too expensive
Recent SW content has been complete shit and it's 100% failure rate. It's not going to last like this forever.
I feel sick of Star Shit and I haven't even seen any of it since the Last Jedi
?si=1Ybqp5l9AbURIm6n
We will never get a soulful lightsabre fight ever again.
>zero cool and heroic straight white male leads
>only strong wyman and weak male jobbers over and over again
>>zero cool and heroic straight white male leads
>>only strong wyman and weak male jobbers over and over again
This does have an impact. SW is sci-fi/action/adventure which appeals primarily to men. You can say "the force is female" all day long but it's a genre that statistically doesn't appeal to women.
So you might "own the chuds" by making girlboss content but this just helps to kill your own franchise.
There were plenty of strong women in original SW, including Leia; but if you don't make the show appealing to boys/men it WILL FAIL. 100%.
Normal people don't care about this
>Normal people don't care about this
Normal girls never see this content. Normal girls never saw SW and will never see SW.
SW was made for autistic boys/men, because that's what George Lucas is. He was riffing on Buck Rogers.
The action/sci-fi genre is overwhelmingly liked by (mostly) autistic boys/men, not autistic girls.
It's one reason among many, but "girlbossing" Marvel (hero/action movies) or SW (same thing) will fail. Because it won't appeal to boys (as much), and women don't like the genre.
It's pretty straightforward. If you made Blade Runner a "girlboss" movie, you think that would work? It would 100% fail.
Women like certain kinds of content. They loved the Barbie movie, they like romcoms and will turn out IN DROVES to a good romcom.
Women (in general) don't like action/adventure/sci-fi movies, why design all of your content around a demographic that isn't interested in your genre? That's stupid
You are not being normal.
>You are not being normal.
I'm not normal, I'm autistic like everyone else on here.
Yeah cuz normal people are on a message board about SW shows.
(cont) If you wanted SW content to appeal to women, have Gilmore Girls in space.
Have young Leia growing up a princess with her mom, not really fitting in, and the drama around that.
Women would absolutely LOVE THAT.
Women fighting with light sabers, pew pew battles, etc? Yeah doesn't really interest them.
Or keep making the same shit, maybe experiment #15 will do better than experiments 1-14.
(cont)
You know what else is going to do like a billion dollars? Taylor Swift movie.
Women/girls LOVE Taylor Swift.
They do not and WILL NEVER love Star Wars.
Englishbros are lucky their simpleton language uses "the" for everything that isn't a person because Ezra called the Force a "She" in German
The Force identifies as a lesbian apache attack helicopter.
Which is simply because Macht and Kraft are both feminine nouns (I don't know which one the German translation uses and don't care enough to look).
Star Wars doesn't actually have that much in it. You can only recycle the same shit so many times. SWgays hate being reminded of this.
Biggest issue with Tales is that conceptually there is infinite story telling potential. Tens of thousands of years of Jedi lore, and they instead used the opportunity to do a couple new Clone Wars episodes. Insanity.
Season 2 needs AT THE BARE MINIMUM to have some High Republic or Luke's Jedi Temple episodes
>god-like Star Wars Renaissance
Holy shit disney ads are shit on here. Do they hire the biggest morons to shill here?
In all honesty, how can people still keep consuming starslop?
It's harmless pulp space opera.
I have a harder time understanding how people let it make them so angry
>I have a harder time understanding how people let it make them so angry
It makes people angry (disappointed in my case) to have such good franchise ideas that made people happy years ago wasted on shit corporate decisions.
>shit corporate decisions.
This. Ewoks ruined the whole thing
Not that anon but I'm not angry, I like deconstructing shitty fiction and find it interesting to see a former pop culture titan die in such a pathetic manner because it has a lot of relevancy and implications as to what t is going on sociopoitically in the real world. Why do libshit establishment status-quo shills get so angry when the products of their institutions get criticized and deconstructed? I thought lefties were all about deconstructing stuff, but they don't seem too keen on ever being the recipient of it. I'm really entertained by that. And no, I can't be gaslighted into thinking Disney Wars isn't the product of American left-wing establishment political and cultural views.
There's a lot of bad actors trying to make it seem like its angrier or more irrational than it is.
The only reason to really care about it is if you want to engage with a community in some way and approach that community using the same references, backgrounds, facts and "shibboleths". This collection of shared data would be the lore or canon.
>Examples
Let us say one group of fans love Jabba the Hutt because he's a successful and powerful villain in control of some portion of his planet. The second group, however, says Jabba the Hutt isn't a successful villain, he's actually very poor at what he does and his deviant twilek fetishes implies something about those who like him. These two groups would normally just squabble in relatively mild old fashioned flame wars if not for the fact that now group B is supported by the philosophical design direction of the current rights-holders (or at least their marketing agencies) of the property the two groups enjoy.
The end result is a nerd encounters new products from the current rights-holders and find it distorts what they invested a lot of time learning and enjoying, they go looking for a community to share their autism with and find the community divided in far harsher squabbles than there normally would be because of this and the end result is there's less conversation about the IP altogether outside of social media and "organic" threads like this that only ever pop up around the release of new episodes. Everyone then retreats into echo chambers and the IP begins to fade.
>In all honesty, how can people still keep consuming starslop?
They aren't that's why the ratings are so shit
Honestly their newfound determination to expand the timeline has given me hope.
>3 eras empty
>the remaining eras full of slop
It's so over.
Are you touched?
There are a couple good movies in there and the rest is endless corporate slop.
And nobody on Earth wants Rey Palpatine to STEAL the New Jedi Order from Luke Skywalker. Literally nobody
Everything is corporate slop anon. You drive a car and own a phone.
And im not going to let you pretend that someone with a shin picture on their hard drive is some arthouse buff who lives in the woods
Bro, you are not going to convince one person here to ever accept Rey. Not one
>High Republic
Their products are doing so bad their Wikipedia article is being actively edited to remove updates on sales figures.
So?
So, stop editing Wikipedia. The sales numbers for High Republic are garbage. It’s a complete failure
Anon I don't edit Wikipedia.
High Republic discourse makes me laugh because it's just a bunch of SW book nerds casually enjoying their niche interest while culture warriors try to explain to them that the sales figures are actually super duper important and its sure to be cancelled for real this time
no sw book nerd is reading the cringe republic
the only people reading it are homosexuals
Anon the ven diagram of star wars book nerds and homosexuals is a circle

>When gone am I, 140 remaining jedi there will be..
1. Yoda was already lying to Luke ("there is another").
2. Yoda isn't clairvoyant, he has no ability to know how many actual Jedi are there. Also, since he feared Luke would fall to the Dark Side, it made sense to not reveal the existence of other survivors even if Yoda did know of them.
No.
Yoda considered Luke to be the only true Jedi out there. Yoda was in essence passing on the leadership of the Jedi Order to Luke. That’s what that scene was about.
only the original trilogy is star wars, the rest is just shitty fan fic
>google one (1) name from your shitty copypasta
>Ylenic It'kla
>pacifist who died on Alderaan during the first Death Star firing sequence long before Yoda says this
wow very cool post you have there
If you just watch the OT in isolation, you can kind of believe Yoda even though he's a senile weirdo. However after he spent 3 movies in the PT being a moron who can't detect a sith lord in front of him and can't understand Anakin's problem, I think Yoda unironically couldn't be trusted to sense whether it's raining or not, let alone how many jedi there are.
he understood anakin's problem, he just didn't approach anakin properly or care to. he also used his own jedi training/teaching and gave the corporate line to anakin more or less.
He didn't understand shit or he would've sequestered the obviously unhinged mentally breaking sweating guy in clear and constant mental agony right in front of him and pulled him from Palpatine duty and had the common fricking sense to ask him sincerely just what the frick was going on.
OP here I’m over 30 years old and loved Star Wars ever since I was a kid! May the force be with you.
>It's the best time to be a fan since the 70s

Is Rey going to get redemption with the fans like Anakin?
I'm positive that the release of her NJO movie was timed very carefully and deliberately
Will she wear a sexy outfit?
>
What redemption? She was written as the bestest ever.
Maybe zoomers like Rey?
the only people who like rey whatsoever are girls and purely because rey is also a girl. they all recognize she's a shit character and the movies are terrible.
They didn't even do a good job marketing her to girls which is the funniest part to me. What an easy fricking sell she could've been. You give her a bunch of different outfits, elaborate ones she gets to wear and simple ones (see any ghibli movie), you give her changing hair styles, you give her a romance triangle with 2 likeable male leads (can draw boys in as well), you make her sweet and give her a simple find yourself arc even a child could write, and you give her a BFF character.
Rey didn't get any of that shit.
Rey isn’t a character. She’s a troubled CEO’s attempt to rewrite a classic saga to be all about her. And when every attempt at doing that hilariously failed, she just kept doubling and tripling down.
Yup
No, they don’t.
Rey doesn’t have a significant fan base. At all. Look at Ahsoka, for example. Ashoka is many, many times more popular than Rey with both millennials, Gen Xers, and even boomers. And even given that strong popularity, the ratings for Ashoka have been very, very low.
Rey probably doesn’t have 1/10th the fan base that Ashoka has. Her movie will flop. Badly
You want to actually make Rey popular?
Give the New Jedi Order back to Luke. Re-establish the New Republic after the ST in Leia’s name. And give Rey an arc like Baylon. She’s a flawed Grey Jedi who doesn’t fit in, traveling the Galaxy looking for the “source” of the Force and she wants to learn more about the Dyad because her power and connection to the force has been weakened since the death of Ben. Solo, and she doesn’t feel complete without him.
What redemption? She was written as the bestest ever.
No
The problems with Rey are so overwhelming and so manifold that there is a good reason half the fan base is gone and 50% of the half that remains actively discusses “Retconning the Sequels” on a nearly daily basis.
It’s not merely that she’s a bad character (and she is, a truly bad character). It’s that the story of Star Wars itself has been completely stolen and given to her. 100% of it.
If it was merely that she was a very poorly written character (and she is, she’s awful) one could look at writing some flaws and failings and an interesting arc to try to rehabilitate her on her own show.
However, it’s her place in the story and the fact that they stripped every iconic character of their agency and their accomplishments and gave ALL of them to Rey. That’s the main problem. That’s why people will NEVER accept her. She’s the face of theft and death to them.
Why did legos only make one Andor kit when they are so many great ships
Republic Transpo Corsair starship(crashed on Andors home world)
Preox-Morlana personnel carrier
Preox-Morlana Mobile Tac-Pod
Imperial Max-7 Rono freighter
Imperial TIE/ln space superiority starfighter
Imperial prison transport
Imperial TIE/rp Reaper attack lander
Imperial Cantwell-class Arrestor Cruiser
Imperial TIE Boarding Craft
Breon Dayvan Starship (Andor ship E1 & E12)
Fondor haulcraft (Luten rael, modified)
Rebel Saw Gerrera's x wing fighter
Shuttle passenger ferry (Ferrix)
Fishermen's TUG-b13 quadjumper
Orlean StarCab (Andor parents ship)
nobody watched it which means there was no desire for lego sets
Wasn't really the most marketable series
I wish Daisy would cosplay the sexy Leia bikini outfit.
Your "plucky undogs" everyone, 2 jedi grandmasters and 1 "worthless jedi yet still wrecks house"
I'm feeling sorry for the bad guys, they've just been getting their asses handed to them
>thrawntroopers got killed
I thought they were supposed to be tougher thanks to the Nightsisters' magic.
Ahsoka and Ezra are not “Grandmasters”
I’d say Ashoka is close to being a Master, even though she is not even a Jedi anymore. Ezra is more of a Jedi Knight. And God only knows why they bothered trying to make Sabine a Jedi at all when she isn’t force sensitive.
Only Yoda and Luke are Grandmasters
They might as well be considering how bullshit powerful they are
Seriously I need to see some fricking stakes. I just laugh at any "action" scene now. If I wanted slice of life, I'd go watch some high school anime, not star WARS
Really? I don’t think they’ve overdone how powerful Ezra or Ashoka are. And I’m extraordinarily critical of how overpowered they made Rey Palpatine in the non-canon Sequel Trilogy.
Ashoka lost to Baylon. Ezra doesn’t even use a lightsaber anymore. And the fight choreography has been mediocre
They've overdone the heroes in general. Ahsoka's ship has unlimited hit points, it dodged every mine, dodged every ship attacking them, dodged the big space ring shooting them, dodged all the ship attacks in the earlier episodes, then when the raiders came after sabine and ezra they defeated them all with the only casualty being one of the cutesy mascot's vehicles, then when they were surrounded by the nightroopers they beat them all easily, sabine especially can beat the highly-trained shin when sabine shouldn't even have the force
It's just all such a joke. The villains succeeded in pushing ahsoka into the water as if it were a prank at the swimming pool, everything else has been a massacre on their end
>sabine shouldn't even have the force
Can a rebelsgay explain this to me? I remember her learning how to use the Darksaber and stuff but I didn't think she had the Force really.
She got the darksaber and was trained to be able to wield it in combat but didn't have the force so it would've been as useful as an average joe taking a sword to a gun fight.
She did terribly with it as expected and eventually passed it on to Bo Katan from Mandolorian. She never had the force but they've implied in this show that anyone can learn to use the force so that's why she's Ahsoka's padawan which is basically as series ruining as the holdo maneuver was
>implied in this show that anyone can learn to use the force
>implied in this show that anyone can learn to use the force
wait what
did Rebels really pretend anyone can learn to use the force? wtf
Rebels didn't, she never did anything jedi related. I don't know why the shift from Rebels to this sidelined Ezra in his own show to a supporting character to two women. I can only assume when it jumped to live action a lot more heads got involved and it was decided to be another girl power show.
Because you know an entire trilogy, Rogue One, Mandalorian, all shifting to a female focus was not enough, we needed even more.
Rebels distinctly said she couldn't use the force and actually had her fail at all her endeavors but in Ahsoka she's been training as a Jedi because apparently anyone could learn how to understand the force with a bit of training.
Several bits of foreshadowing towards her doing something with it have happened throughout this season and I'll bet she's gonna use it to save the day in the season finale
making the force attainable only by the select few is ableist and against modern disney values
>anyone can learn to use the force
That’s not such a terrible notion, is it? I think it just comes down to how it’s written.
My memory of the prequels’ explanations on the force are hazy, but in the OT the force is posited as something as natural as life itself, and the Jedi were people of faith. And despite being the son of a prominent and powerful Jedi, Luke’s affinity was nonexistent until he started dumping more points into faith.
Episodes 5 and 6 roll around, we find out the Emperor can tap into it too. Mind you, the word Sith does not exist yet and Palpatine makes it clear he’s not part of that religious sect known as the Jedi. Nevertheless he was unambiguously a practitioner of the faith, or at least he knew enough to be able to conjure lightning from his hands.
The force being something learned or believed in is how it should work, and how it does work in the OT. The prequels frick it all up with this talk of midichlorians. As much as I like episode 3, those three movies do too much damage to Star Wars as a story in an attempt to flesh out Star Wars as a plot. And then there’s The Rise of Skywalker, which makes up some stupid shit that basically says the force is not only hereditary, but only the Palpatines and Skywalkers matter to it.
I don’t know what Rebels established, and I don’t like Sabine anyway. But the force is better when it’s not only about sucking off a select group of people. If the force is supposed to be in all things, why should a minority get the privilege to use it?
Order 66 was important because it was supposed to wipe out the force for all but the Sith
If anyone could learn to do Jedi tricks by meditating, it suddenly feels so less important
Again, that’s the fault of the prequels for making it less like real faith and religion, and more like Scientology. Order 66 is a solution to a problem the prequels themselves created.
>suddenly feels so less important
But that’s looking at it wrong. The force itself is not supposed to be what matters, it’s how it lends itself to the story. The force is a plot device, that much is evident even in the OT. Those movies aren’t about the Jedi or the force, they’re about Luke doing the right thing. The force is just a vehicle for getting there. And that again is where the prequels mess up, because now it’s all about choosing people we the audience know are important to be the important players in the stage. Anakin is the chosen one for meta reasons, and it ultimately damages Star Wars the story even more.
I don't think there's any rationale behind beyond "well Leia was always sort of implied to be force sensitive, so it could happen when you're older". I honestly think that's the mentality. They're obviously planning to combine the two stories and they wanted a character that could be a Mandalorian Jedi since that's such an important part of their history. It's still honestly better than yet another introduced character needing to be established at this point for what they're trying to do.
I agree with all your points. I’ve noticed this problem in other shows. Especially the Mandalorian
Usually 2 or 3 people wiping out an entire platoon without getting so much as a scratch. It sucks. I agree
I just meant they haven’t overdone their Force Powers
Luke is not a grandmaster
Disney isn't canon.
Even in Disney Canon he had a pretty large Jedi Order and he was most certainly the Grandmaster of that Order
>Even in Disney Canon he had a pretty large Jedi Order
Yes he is.
why did the demographics in the star wars universe suddenly shift overnight so everyone is suddenly gaypoc and rocking danger hair
was Ezra always a pajeet? i didn't watch rebels
He was brownish in the cartoon. Pick your flavor.
I'm asleep until my mommywife shows up. Someone DM me when she does.
>waste Andy Serkis in the movies
>highlight and underscore him in the TV shows
This tells you what a mess lucasfilm is. People are like.... spite casting/writing to show you what you could have done.
Why didnt Bin Laden fly planes into Hollywood studios instead. Actually could've accomplished something useful
I don't think he gave that much of a shit about star wars
Visions and Andor are the only things I like. Anything Filoni had his hand in is simply no good. It’s not that I don’t see some merit or glimpses of potential, but his work is always too heavy-handed in regards to references or nostalgia bait for my liking.
The second season of Visions was pretty meh
Fun Disney canon fact: according to the current canon, per the novel A Certain Point Of View, the pic related mouse droid that bumps into Chewbacca on the Death Star in the original movie is actually carrying a secret gay sext message from a bear hanger officer to a younger twink Stromtrooper stationed there that he is having a secret affair with. And the incredible thing is I am not even trolling or making this up. Disney everyone!
Tl;dr: Walt was right about them
A Certain Point of View has always been soft canon, so I don't think you need to worry.
Also I don't hate gay people so this doesn't bother me regardless
Iirc he's sending it in the droid so its a physical note rather than a digital message that could be picked up the ISB or whatever. Really gripping lore there.
I've seen every episode of every star wars show Disney has put out, and didn't know about this. Thank you for telling me about it.
>Iirc he's sending it in the droid so its a physical note rather than a digital message that could be picked up the ISB or whatever
Literally why would anyone even care as long as they're doing their jobs and not secretly leaking info to the rebels. In fact, doing shit like this would only cause the ISB to focus in on them thinking they were actually spies and not just fudge packers
what the frick
Star Wars books have never mattered to anyone, so I don’t know why you felt the need to let the world know you let the gays live rent free in your head like this.
>"mouse" droid
>delivering secret gay messages on behalf of a totalitarian fascist corptocracy to the vulnerable youth.
What did the Mickey Mouse people mean by this?
In the EU, Han was married to this "woman" before Leia, and thought about his love for her constantly throughout the events of the Original Trilogy
Basically what I'm trying to say is, don't read star wars books if you can't handle absolutely insane woke politics or general lore-ruining ridiculousness.
>don't read star wars books if you can't handle absolutely insane woke politics or general lore-ruining ridiculousness
This is good advice
When did the books go woke or were they always this way
They have always been like this.
I wont lie to you, it's definitely more modernized in the current stuff, but even the classic EU has that "old star trek" vibe where it's noticably trying to push social norms including relationships and race relations
First I heard of her was when she turned up in a comic book recently. So I guess she's still canon.
Sana is just a looter that Han married for a gig
Disney Wars will never be good and will never be canon
Wow, I regret having ever called myself a Star Wars fan. You people are such gigantic fricking losers. Both the Filoni homosexuals and the Favreau homosexuals but especially the Andor homosexuals. I wish we could fricking separate the franchise from you goddamn idiots and just leave the rest of us to enjoy the original trilogy in peace. They should call these new shows and movies homosexual Wars
I don’t know why you’re trying to one-up the gays when your ass is going in the locker too, nerd.
star wars is now a streaming series. i will be very surprised if disney can make it into a blockbuster film series again
God damn the women in Ahsucka deez are hot.
Mew is still mew, but with a fat ass (no acting capacity though)
I clocked Wren as a White/Asian hapa immediately. Slender asian features but with a strong nose. God damn, literally MADE for bleaching and facefricking.
And then there's the piece du resistance, that emo sith chick. Literally 10/10, big doe eyes with platinum blonde hair. She is MAI WAIFE PLAP PLAP PLAP PLAP GET PREGGER
At some point the bar gets so low that the only way to go is up. I'm glad these cheap, irrelevant D+ shows that no one is watching is up your alley OP. I'm sure you get super excited when (insert reference) happens
Andor is actually good tv THOUGH
Kino episode.
the only episode that kills me that we will never get a follow-up
None of that garbage is star wars
Define Star Wars
Anything that bared the “Star Wars” label prior to Disney’s purchase of the franchise in 2012.
Even Filoni's Clone Wars?
Even the Christmas Special?
Both far superior compared everything Disney has done with the franchise
Okay you're just trolling
Star wars Christmas special
>We are witnessing a god-like Star Wars Renaissance. It's the best time to be a fan since the 70s
>I feel nothing but sympathy for the people who refuse to accept that

Holy cope, do disneygays really watch this slop? Like actually watch it, not just hate watch clips of it?
