I liked maybe the first season or so. Grizz was really cute, I wanted to be his friend. Ice Bear was also really cool, I want him to be my friend.
But the show got repetitive pretty fast, and once those godawful baby bear episodes appeared often the show was dead. And the bears kept on acting like obnoxious buttholes towards humans and the show always presented them as in the right and misunderstood for far too long.
It got even worse when the show creator said "‘We Bare Bears’ Is An Allegory for Being A Minority in America". Not sure if he didn't realize the bears were pieces of shit, or he was being lowkey based.
The movie wasn't subtle either with the blue-eyed white man villain having a hateboner for the bears.
Even in this statement he refused to see that the bears were written obnoxiously. >their treatment felt unmotivated >sometimes individuals are treated unfairly for no other reason than looking different
The bears were always causing problems in human society. Being loud, invading people's personal spaces, and constantly causing property damage.
But I don't remember them ever being treated poorly for being bears. Other than that diet episode, I don't remember anyone even questioning why there's bears in the street
I liked it a lot, one of the comfiest shows I've ever watched. In hindsight the first season was the best and as the show went on it lost part of its charm, but I still have a great affection for the show.
I did, there was just a lot of untapped potential. The kids show about mid twenties guys always ran the risk of being held back by the fact that it's a kids show. If it was more Regular Show and less kids, it would have done better.
