Depends on how honest the author is about it. With housepets it was infuriating because the author does everything to avoid admitting fault and pretend like his writing is God's gift to webcomics. At one point he threw a fit at people suggesting he take breaks in between arcs and said he was pouring his heart and soul into it, then later admitted he was writing page by page to meet his self imposed deadlines since well before said fit. No apologies about lying of course. Then he picked a single random, vague complaint from some guy who supposedly retweeted a bunch of anti trans stuff to try and strawman anyone who didn't like the finale as a transphobe.
I'd hate this shit way less if he just admitted it was a personal fetish comic and had fun with it instead of trying to convince himself it has any real messages or themes, but that describes all of his content and why I stopped following him entirely.
