The comics won't even let us have Clown Prince of Crime, what makes you think the movies will?

No, Ronald McDonald is a clown. The Joker is an organized criminal dressing up as a clown like John Wayne Gacy on steroids.

Ronald McDonald is not a fricking clown, he is a dumb mascot. You know nothing of clown tradition.
John Wayne Gacy also never dressed as a clown when he committed his crimes, he just happened to be a clown as well as a serial killer, so the comparison is bad.

So sick Grant Morrison Joker! Yet most popular Joker is Hamil’s Joker, A clown

It should be both. And he should be a credible threat, not just some random goon.
He is insane but there's a method to his madness.

The Ledger Joker was impressive the first time you see him but he also permanently ruined the character. In retrospect, I consider Hamill the king.

Tim Burton's Batman was made when a bad guy could still be outlandish and unrelatable. Nolan made his Bitmin films when every character had to be believable and psychologically realistic. Nothing wrong with making characters like that really, but Joker is supposed to be a mad clown, somebody who thinks everything is funny, but Nolan's Joker didn't really seem to find anything funny. Joachim Penis' Joker is an improvement but he still laughs because he's fricked, he doesn't want to laugh, he just does. A real Joker should laugh because he actually thinks it's fricking funny.

He's outlandish but still dangerous, a regular clown wouldn't have found himself in this situation period

Nolan's Joker seemed like a rogue glowie that turned into a domestic terrorist. It doesn't really make sense that a guy like that would wear gaudy suits and clown makeup but I suppose that's sort of the point for the Joker to not make sense.

Joker was only a clown for about 20 years, he was a serious killer for the character’s first 5-ish years, and re-adopted that persona in the late 70’s and has been a serious psychopath since. It’s actually more in character.

Kind of. You are right, Golden Age Joker was a Dick Tracy knock odd villain. A gangster with a goofy appearance, in this case a clown. Silver Age Joker was a pure harmless idiot causing “boners.” I’m talking about Bronze age Denny O’Neil hybrid Joker between Golden and Silver. A Joker that was a killer but still uses gag weapons because he’s crazy. That’s Jack’s Joker and Hamil’s. Post Crisis and especially Grant Morrison Joker is
just “let’s just make him real crazy because it’s edgy and shit.”

I hate to be predictable, but I liked Nolan/Ledger's take the most. His laughing wasn't from clownishness, but chaos. The adrenaline is what makes him laugh. Anyone who's committed a crime or done a nasty prank kind of giggles to themselves like that. It's not from actual jokes. Joker's still malicious as frick.
