The "oh miles, you are so good.. I should retire once for all and let the city to you" seems a bit on the nose and a huge dick move to me, and this comes from someone who likes miles in general. Just wishing to have two cool Spiderman around, doing cool things and saving people.
Also it seems they've regressed MJ development from the previous game, where at least she recognized her mistakes in the first one and apologized at the very end... Here it seems to do the same shit with the story bending over to her and her demands.... Dunno always hate when the character 's development get erased back to 0 just for generate new worthless drama in the next installment.
Also they' ve doubled down with the stealth sections it seems.... Which is stupid since it was one of the things the people Hated from the previous game.

He's distant, ducks calls and has some aggressive lines in combat but none of these characteristics manifest if you possess the symbiote and go through Yuri's side-quests. I had the suit and Peter was still level headed when we spoke to the pigeon dude. He becomes hostile in like two different situations and even then he isn't actively belittling his friends. The point is that it takes time for Peter to build up to that. MJ gets fully consumed and within seconds she's shitting on Peter when she should be just mindlessly flailing at him while trying to recover herself just like all the fricking grunt Symbiote enemies do.
Mary Jane shits on Peter relentlessly and he has to say anything he can to get her back on board, I get that. The symbiote amplifies negative thoughts, sure. But still Peter never shat on anyone. It’s three stories slammed together with no rhyme or reason and the game FORCES YOU to end fights as miles because pete not being enough is the through line of the franchise these days. I watched the first boss fight and the last and they BOTH followed the pattern of start as pete cut scene shows him getting his shit pushed in and saved by miles/MJ finish the fight as miles then cutscene of them “working together”

Venom as a main villain is way more interesting when he is cunning and is a true merge of the symbiote and the host. When it's just "symbiote bad" Venom is nothing more than a shitty plot device. The symbiote isn't the interesting thing about Venom, it's the relationship with the host.
The Venom movies actually did this very well. Insomniac 's Venom is just Knull-lite.

Even outside of game playing Doom external ruined the cool lore ID set up during Doom 64 and Doom 2016. The Doom 2016 lore was cool because it looks like setting up Doom Guy becoming the Doom Slayer behalf haven to save humanity. Doom External lore comes down to God being bad. The Symbiote influences the negative qualities of the user but Peter takes fricking FOREVER in-game to actually start treating people like trash. He's distant, ducks calls and has some aggressive lines in combat but none of these characteristics manifest if you possess the symbiote and go through Yuri's side-quests. I had the suit and Peter was still level headed when we spoke to the pigeon dude. He becomes hostile in like two different situations and even then he isn't actively belittling his friends. The point is that it takes time for Peter to build up to that. MJ gets fully consumed and within seconds she's shitting on Peter when she should be just mindlessly flailing at him while trying to recover herself just like all the fricking grunt Symbiote enemies do.
Mary Jane shits on Peter relentlessly and he has to say anything he can to get her back on board, I get that. The symbiote amplifies negative thoughts, sure. But still Peter never shat on anyone. His harshest criticism was insisting that he's better off doing things alone and that HE protects others, not the other way around and state that Miles is slipping because he couldn't stop a few Hunters. MJ shits on Peter because she has to sacrifice and hold up her end of the fricking weight in the relationship. Yeah, do things you're not uncomfortable to get through the hard times.
