      >If something is inappropriate it must be avoided at all costs! We can never allow a heckin wrongthink to cross our screens!
How the frick do people think like this? Why do they think that exploring a topic or showing something happening is the same as endorsing it? Even if you make the hysterical argument that kids shouldn't be seeing it, how are kids supposed to know what's appropriate and what's inappropriate if they are only ever shown what's appropriate?

narcissists and NPC's do not have a concept of self or others, and lack empathy
this leads to them taking everything at surface level, face value. if a murderer is on screen killing someone to them its tue same as saying "this murderer is you and we endorse killing"

what the frick is he talking about? I don't remember a Nazi uniform but I'm guessing it's probably one of the evil corporate guys (Medical Mechanica?) or maybe the space cops after the bass girl?

as far as the sexual content goes, that was literally the entire point of the show, teenage sexuality and all the insanity that comes with it. How can you think removing that in any way improves things? And did they really think the older woman young boy stuff was "acceptable"? it wasn't. again that was the point.

I think this goblin knows all this too he's just slinging whatever bullshit he can to not admit they just went woke and got shitty.

      >Just finish releasing Evangelion
      >It's a smash hit that will outlast it's contemporaries
      >You're considered to be some of the greatest in the world for your work in elevating the medium
      >Gainax executive screws you over however so you and your team leave to form your own business
      >Form Trigger studios
      >You're given lots of funding by investors because you created what amounted to lord of the rings on steroids
      >It's time to flex on the industry with a highly experimental and subversive series on growing up with bad role models
      >Animators were basically just flexing on the entire industry because frick you we made Evangelion and you got nothing on us
      >It's also a smash hit
      >Decades later some American douchebags who didn't understand FLCL see that it's popular and decide to make a spinoff
      >Sure whatever, we're busy making the top performing Netflix series
      >The moron tries to replicate the "animators doing whatever they want" attitude
      >but he doesn't hire veterans
      >He doesn't give them free reign
      >He hired fresh graduates and gave them a list of rules to follow
      >None of them watched fooly cooly
      >It's about vapid teenage girls who think spacing out at the sky makes them deep

Team trigger were legends even when they graduated, they made a highlight reel that used Darth Vader and other giant IPs because they knew nobody would sue them in Japan.
When they got hired by Gainax they released their top performing series.
When they broke off into trigger they released FLCL and Gurren Lagann.

There hasn't been a generation before or after them. Imagine asking any new graduate to do an Evangelion spin off...of wait they did, the Re:build series.

    Hunter Schafer as Minami
    Finn Wolfhard as Noata

Certainly! While casting decisions are ultimately made by professionals in the industry, I can offer some suggestions for Minami and Naota based on their characteristics and the tone of FLCL. Keep in mind that these are just ideas, and suitability for the roles would depend on various factors such as acting ability, chemistry, and directorial vision.

    Minami:

Zendaya: Known for her versatility and strong performances, Zendaya could bring depth to Minami's character. She has the ability to portray a range of emotions and has experience in both drama and comedy.

Amandla Stenberg: Amandla has demonstrated her acting skills in various genres and could bring a unique and compelling interpretation to Minami's character.

Kaitlyn Dever: With her ability to handle complex characters, Kaitlyn could bring a sense of authenticity to Minami's personality.

    Naota:

Asa Butterfield: Asa has shown his talent in coming-of-age stories and could capture Naota's mix of confusion, frustration, and curiosity.

Tye Sheridan: Tye has experience in both dramatic and science fiction roles, making him a potential fit for the layered character of Naota.

Charlie Plummer: Charlie has demonstrated his acting skills in various projects and could bring a relatable and authentic portrayal to Naota.

Remember that casting is a complex process, and many factors influence the selection of actors for specific roles. It's also important to consider the director's vision for the adaptation and how well the chosen actors can embody the essence of the characters.

Why do you hate FLCL so much?

FLCL will never be the same to anyone that wasn't a preteen sneaking downstairs to watch FLCL on Adult Swim while their parents were asleep in the mid-2000s. If that wasn't your experience, FLCL wasn't for you.

Nah my childhood was better. I was 14 on the internet and stumbled upon it randomly and I have no recollection of how or why. But the first time I watched it I binged it and didn't understand anything but loved it regardless. Bought the omnibus manga adaption that made even less sense and had no connection to the anime.

I've rewatched it every year. It's timeless.

Basically. If you weren’t 12-15 when it first aired you kind of miss 98% of the appeal. For me it was being 12 years old and sleeping on the living room floor in sleeping bags with my brothers because we only had 2 air conditioning units watching on practically muted volume as to not wake my parents and then jerking off days later to the memory of the few panty shots or the scene where Haruko suggestively licks the baseball bat in the credits

Exactly, first time I saw it was the summer of 2003, I was 13 years old about to start middle school. It was the prime time for me to have seen it. I also became a fan of the pillows from that year on
