how would that work? When convies appear majority of the time UNSC deploys everyone to an active battlefield? Unless you're talking about the human upraising stage
Because Band Of Brothers is awesome. Imagine that, but with a squad of ODSTs with advanced technology. It might not be as visceral as World War 2, but it still should be interesting.
Probably after the Halo show ends, or maybe in the 3rd season? I'm thinking the show can't go on forever with the Master Chief. There's plenty of Halo lore to play around with.
I just played this recently but I played Reach a while back so I dont really remember how any of the Reach guys were but they had more personality imo. The ODST squad was alright but the "good guy" captain is too cringe for me. Hes so goody 2 shoes its annoying. Only interesting guy was the "heavy weapons Orange" guy. The black guy was probably the most honorable. But overall the game was good. Also that CIA spook girl was such a b***h holy shit. Why do they always make women into c**ts? I dont even remember the guy in Red at all.
Either way I was surprised that none of them died. Kinda dissapointed in that way with ODST. Overall it was alright game. I would have to replay Reach again to see if its better or worse than Reach.
>Spartans are all different colors like power rangers instead of classic green
One of my biggest peeves with how Spartans are depicted including in Reach. Making them all green and giving them all Mjolnor MK V makes them actually look like elite military units they're supposed to be. Literally no logical reason to make Spartans brightly colored armor like blue, red, yellow etc. It pissed me off how they even made Blue Team literally Blue. Pic related is how noble team should have looked. All MK V helmets bit variation in armor to signify their role
Dumb argument, its for a character/art design standpoint idiot. Why do you think the Covenant are all different colors when it doesnt make sense for them to be either?

>Mjolnor MK V >The most aesthetic version of all the Mjolnir armor >Canonically the one that was used the least amount of time
Its not fair bros. The design is literally perfect. Perfectly encapsulates what the armor is supposed to be >Cutting edge high tech design yet built like a tank
Spartan III's are fake and gay to begin with, the II's were special because it took a frickton to create them and there ended up only being a handful but these homosexuals are not only superior to the II's but there's fricking hundreds of them
I explicitly remember that the III's were originally unstable and needed a frickton of drugs to even function but when I checked the Halopedia entry it just flat out describes them as better but more expendable for some reason
>You get to play as Spartan III's >Spartan III's are cheaper, weaker versions of II's focuses more on stealth >Instead of using their SPI stealth armor they are wearing Mjolnir
SO WHAT WAS THE FRICKING POINT OF MAKING NOBLE TEAM, SPARTAN III'S THEN INSTEAD OF II'S!? THAT DEFEATS THE WHOLE FRICKING PURPOSE IF YOURE GOING TO MAKE THEM WEAR MJOLNIR ANYWAY

This also bothered the shit out of me, even as a kid.
It always seemed to me that if there were any unique or special requirements to complement a S-II's skills, it was very minimal, or a separate kit not part of the suit.
There didn't need to be a 'specialist'. ALL Spartans were exceedingly competent at all things they would need to be or do in the field.
It also struck me as odd that there was never any mention of the other S-II Mark 5 suits having the ability to house an AI like Cortana.
Certainly none of them could fully utilized Cortana the way Chief did. Him having the additional neural lase upgrade, and all.
But it almost seemed like if Chief were to be killed, there would be no way for Cortana to be recovered and stored within another suit.
I guess they would just keep her chip in a pouch or something?
You're delusional if you think Halo didn't rule the world during games 1-3. Everyone was playing it then. It was cool then, but modern Halo is definitely not cool
It's really amazing that no other series have tried the BoB style of focusing on a group of people rather than having one single character. Star wars, halo, gears of war, Warhammer, etc would all be perfect for that type of thing
The problem with live action halo is the armor. It looks like shit in everything they've done. The only time it was decent was that odst commercial with the German music
Literally impossible to make any fictional group of soldiers in le current year without shoehorning in a bunch of token c**toids that would ruin the entire dynamic.
The ODST live action trailer and the one with all the UNSC gear being manufactured are so good. It’s actually impressive that they managed to mess up the show so badly when they had everything they needed in those two ads
Man I love that one with the Hades Corps, a group of soldiers who are always the last ones out, existing for the purpose of blowing up prototype weapons so they don't falls into enemy's hands. That would've been a great protagonist and premise for a game.
>Voice Command Authorization - "Be Human". >And for one last instant, I was human again.
You will never get anything that portrays military style forces, even fictional ones, in a semi decent light ever again.
Hollywood despises the dude to tacticool look popularized by halo and cod and they're still salty about it.
Soldiers must be cowards, fascists, and incompetent and that's that. This is why star wars hasn't had any actual "war" in it and why rogue one had to be reshot.
>Reach is hyped up to be military stronghold of Humanity >Only 20 orbital mac stations as opposed to Earth's 300 >When Covenant forces land in the middle of a desert on Reach, instead of bombarding the entire area with missles, artillery and nukes, UNSC launches full frontal assault with warthogs and tanks? >When Covenant supercarrier is revealed, again instead of bombarding it with every available assest they have including nukes, they retreat on their own planet? >Can't use nukes cause they're on the other side of planet? (Apparently ICBM's don't exist) >Have to jury rig an engine just to take it out. >Apparenly military stronghold planet doesn't have any anti air defense or scrambles every available ship to try to overwhelm it >Original lore, Reach falls in 24 hours yet game retcons it to a month which makes no sense
Halo Reach was such a fricking let down. Fall of Reach was made out to be such an apocalyptic event yet in game doesn't feel like it. I was expecting nukes to be dropping left and right out of sheer desperation. The entire game should have been like the CoD MW2 Washington DC levels. Pure panic, desperation and
dread. Entire cities and divisions being wiped out. One massive retreat as UNSC throws everything they have at the enemy as a desperate attempt to slow down the onslaught. Essentially like the War of the Worlds scene times 100. UNSC response in game was laughable and made zero sense.
>In the books Spartan company is already on a mission leaving human space >UNSC does sound an all forces alert and Spartans have to return to Reach >Where most of the Spartans die from jumping out of a crashing pelican (Which I am still so goddam fricking mad about. Such a lazy way to write out 98% of the Spartan forces)
Game >Chief, asleep, alone
Fricking hated the retcon the game did.
Forgot to add >Chief never goes down to the surface >Has a different mission on an orbital structure >Rescues Johnson and Co. on the way back to the Autumn
I find it interesting that Johnson was never meant to be part of the Hierarch kidnapping mission, but ends up being a critical character for all of post destruction of Reach Halo plot.
>The entire game should have been like the CoD MW2 Washington DC levels. Pure panic, desperation and dread.
Agreed. Game should have kicked off with Covenant invasion and UNSC getting their shit pushed in. Say what you want about CoD but the Washington DC levels were pure kino. Reach should have been that Halo style
>THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! >I'M LOOKING AT FIGHTER JETS OVER I-95! HOW THE HELL DID THEY GET THROUGH!?
Band of brothers lowkey sucked. Spielberg and Hanks are some of the cringeiest filmmakers around. And the show absolutely kills the narrative and emotions by skipping months at random.
we wouldve had a halo movie during the prime of the series when all the other incredible halo live action ads were being made if microsoft and bungie werent such gigahomosexuals that were impossible to work with which led to the movie being cancelled
we wouldve had a halo movie during the prime of the series when all the other incredible halo live action ads were being made if microsoft and bungie werent such gigahomosexuals that were impossible to work with which led to the movie being cancelled
My understanding was that District 9 was his "tryout" for a Halo movie. And we were also supposed to get a Splinter Cell movie starring George Clooney.
I always wanted a Terminator future war Band of Brothers style show. It's possibly the only interesting thing that could be done with that franchise at this point.
>halo as a television and film franchise is over before it had a chance because instead of making a halo story they made a show about a moronic asiatic that has literally fricking NOTHING to do with Halo
it'd infuriate me if I wasn't already broken
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Reach sucked. What always struck me as being really lazy and shit is how many parts of the campaign were just repurposed Firefight levels. It seems like every mission you had a part where you just had to fight off waves of enemies before the lift would arrive or the door would open, and that zone of the level would have it's own firefight level if you wanted to do it again for some reason. Then, a lot of the multiplayer maps were repurposed campaign levels that had whole sections that never saw any action because they were just copy and pasted from the campaign and not designed for multiplayer. You used to be able to get heat maps on Bungie's website of where people died, and half of the maps were just empty because no one went there. The only good maps were the ones from older games.
All valid points
The worst thing about Reach MP was the narrow corridors with 2 starting frags and team killing on
Every game felt like a grenade spam and there were 100s of betrayal bootings
They didn't even want to make Reach, and admitted after the fact that was phoned in. Mostly a dumping ground of cut Halo 3 ideas.
And then they left Microsoft, imploded during destiny's development, and became an empty husk.
Band of Brothers is cool because it's about real people and real struggles, trying to recreate that with fictional Halo characters would be gay as frick
>Band of Brothers style
Why does everyone say this when discussing a possible Halo show?
I don't know man. Halo should be more like Generation Kill.
how would that work? When convies appear majority of the time UNSC deploys everyone to an active battlefield? Unless you're talking about the human upraising stage
Because Band Of Brothers is awesome. Imagine that, but with a squad of ODSTs with advanced technology. It might not be as visceral as World War 2, but it still should be interesting.
because its the best format for a war show
Best way to do it
At least to anyone who read the first three books
because band of brothers is a shit movie and people who like odst have bad taste.
how can you be wrong on so many things?
Probably after the Halo show ends, or maybe in the 3rd season? I'm thinking the show can't go on forever with the Master Chief. There's plenty of Halo lore to play around with.
Why were these homies so much more kino than Noble team?
The show is going to get cancelled anyway
I just played this recently but I played Reach a while back so I dont really remember how any of the Reach guys were but they had more personality imo. The ODST squad was alright but the "good guy" captain is too cringe for me. Hes so goody 2 shoes its annoying. Only interesting guy was the "heavy weapons Orange" guy. Yeah the Reach team were a much better set of characters than the ODST team
i'm pretty sure there's an ODST fan-film being made with some decent production behind it

yeah they were budget S IIs made for suicide missions. George is also a foot taller than the rest
This
Reach was shit too

they need to maximize shekels and there is a proportion of dumb people (women) who wouldn't enjoy that storytelling style at all.
The problem with live action halo is the armor. It looks like shit in everything they've done. The only time it was decent was that odst commercial with the German music
The Landfall trailer for Halo 3 was also quite spectacular.
>The only time it was decent was that odst commercial
That awkward moment when cosplayers manage to make a better ODST armor than Hollywood. And it has pouches too
That looks cool as hellyxgga4
What camo are those pants?
halo died with reach
the 343 abortions and master cheeks are a joke
Literally impossible to make any fictional group of soldiers in le current year without shoehorning in a bunch of token c**toids that would ruin the entire dynamic.

kek nice digits, and there's also your answer as to how they fricked up so magnificently
Why did anyone at 343 think being able to turn any normal adult into a spartan was a good idea? It absolutely ruins the lore
>343
>think
franchise peaked here
Halo would work better as an anthology similar to creep show.
Anyone saying BoB is a fricking moron.
>no halo animatrix
we were robbed
they literally did a halo animatrix.
prove it
It’s called “Halo Legends”.
>anime trash
yuck. no thanks
What do you think The Animatrix is?
>anime trash
listen Black person you asked for Halo's version of the animatrix and we gave you the source, stop complaining
>no Halo animatrix
its called Halo legends moron
dumbass
so you're just a moron got it

Only time I got that feeling was the opening of the city missions after Jorge's sacrifice.
