What did Batman do to incels?

Well, Riddler had incel traits and was presented as having a legitimate gripe, despite going about it the wrong way. Not that his character ever mentioned sex or women at all, we’re talking having the stereotypical traits incels have.

Anon has clearly never seen a woman with no makeup before. Just because the colors aren’t dramatic doesn’t mean she isn’t wearing a lot.

Gaga is, Harley isn't, not in-universe she is
      I doubt she is

Yeah, this is hollywoods version of “natural” so I’m sure she isn’t supposed to be wearing any makeup ‘in universe’, but anon’s assertion was that women look better without much makeup. This was in reference to the woman in OPs pic (Gaga or Harley, it doesn’t matter). That woman is wearing a lot of makeup and anyone who has had a girlfriend would know that shit would take at least an hour to do before heading out just to do grocery shopping.

Harley has never been drawn without make up. The artstyles usually don't depict realistic blemishes unless it's a teenage boy

Gaga as Harley, with rumors that Harley is the star of the movie, makes me think that femcels got assblasted by the idea of male mental illness being shown in a way that was at all relatable to normal people. A movie about an ugly, socially awkward, mentally ill man getting shit on by society made women the world over REEEEEE because mental illness and cries for help are supposed to be their shtick and it's supposed to be their unconditional source of pity and coddling.

So here comes Harley to show that she's just as downtrodden and ignored and mentally ill as Joker and that's why she deserves even more attention for being a crazy girlboss.

      >incel

Why do people have a fixation with medicalizing everything. being an incel isn't a disease, it's just being a bitter butthole

        Anonymous

Incel isn't the mental illness. Incels often have mental illness. Why would you assume repeated mentions of mental illness implied that being an incel is a mental illness on its own?

In the first Joker movie, the main character is receiving treatment for what is clearly a diagnosed disorder of some sort.

Hmm... you seem like you're a danger to yourself or others. I think you need your brain electrocuted a few times. Now, will you come quietly or do I need to call the male staff?

I once met a guy who had received electro shock therapy, and he said it worked out for him and helped him turn his life around. It’s been deeply stigmatized but it’s a legitimate treatment in some cases.

              Anonymous

It gets lumped in with the ice pick lobotomy as one of those insanely cruel, pointless "treatments" we used to do, but apparently electroshock was turned into a legitimate and scientifically supported form of treatment.

A pretty good acid test is if the Shockee is being sedated during the process. If so, it's on the level. If not, it's either Focus on the Family or Autism Speaks back on their bullshit.

            >The medication is really helping me doctor I'm feeling a lot better.
            >Yeah we can't prescribe that to you anymore because the state ran out of funding
            >Where am I supposed to get my medication
            >I don't know you figure it out not my problem anymore don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The trailer kind of gives the impression that Harley is enabling Arthur and making him worse. Kind of like how the Telltale game switched their roles.

Delusional. Women don't give a shit that a movie about mental illness has a male lead, and neither do the studios care about courting this nonexistent minority audience. The first one made a billion dollars. All they care about is keeping the gravy train rolling. Bringing Harley Quinn into a sequel is merely the path of least resistance for squeezing another story out of this since they already made Batman a kid in this version. Gaga seems like fine casting so far. The main thing for producers is that she gets asses in seats, but she can sing pop and jazz, people seemed to like her acting in A Star is Born (haven't seen it personally), and her ego can handle looking unglamorous.

her acting was fine tbh, she just played some random, normal working class girl...maybe that's actually harder than it looks but yeah and like you said, she doesnt need to LOOK like a pop star all the time. im sure she's going to be good in this

Gaga's fanbase is like 90% homosexual men so if anything they're going for the gay audience with this pick. Casting Taylor Swift or Lana Del Rey as Harley would have been the REAL femcel bait choice.

Jonkler was good, but I feel like a sequel isn't necessary and might detract from the first film's gravitas.
That said I remember when it first released and tons of opinion pieces were saying that it was going to cause a gorillion mass shootings by an incel army waiting to rise up and commit a super shootocaust.
And then nothing happened until that stabbing at the sequel to frozen.
