I miss The Shield bros, there’s nothing else that compares to watching a brotherhood go down in flames trying to fix a broken cycle of nogs abusing the system over and over again
I can't believe how gritty this show is, I could tell it was gritty because the camera never stops shaking and zooming every 30 seconds, even in simple dialogue scenes where it serves no fricking purpose
>Hand held style means that the camera man has to have Parkinson's disease, and dialogue scenes should also have completely unmotivated pans, zooms and shakiness
This film was shot hand held, 'docu' style
Notice how it isn't shit
Characters like Vic wouldn't be popular. He represents that Grey area that is now unpopular bc everyone wants "morally clean" media. They can't even handle Oppenheimer without having a mental breakdown.
Kino. Even better in some ways, at least for me. I have begun to appreciate the show even more on my second rewatch. I feel like no other show hits emotionally realistic like The Shield
It's really impressive how, even knowing how things turn out, The Shield manages to deliver on the tension, the stakes, the sense of foreboding. I virtually never use this word, but 'gripping' really fits here.
>why would google and Amazon make a show that's very unsympathetic to trannies and various other Current Year sacred cows less enticing to watch?
it truly is a mystery
Lol is this the same show we're talking about? It had meandering subplots on some gay who was shown with a coalburning prostitute in the first episodes and had girlboss shit. It was a good show but let's not ridicule ourselves and circlejerk it so much.
>girlboss shit
I can think of exactly one such instance out of the whole series
If you're going to sit there and call Claudette, Danny, or Tina 'girlbosses' though, then I can safely ignore anything you have to say
>She had to leave... >Los Angeles >All her toys wore out in black and her boys had too >She started to hate every Black person and israelite >Every Mexican that gave her lotta shit >Every homosexual and the idle rich >She had to get out
Binged it during covid lockdowns. Was legitimately depressed when it ended because i know I'll never have such levels of kino bestowed upon me by the grace of our Lord in Heaven ever again
what? boomer white male power fantasies? those are a diamond dozen

> boomer white male power fantasies
Reminder that the Rampart team, the real "Shield" that was 100% corrupt was also 100% brown. Here's the real life Vick Mackey, Rafael Perez.
Issac Schrader wasn't a good character anyway what the duck was he collecting rocks for

its currently impossible to make but might be once gen alpha starts to dictate the media landscape
If they did, it would be a bunch of white cops kneeling on the backs of black people
If the show is that good, how come it's only in SD on Google and Amazon?

See the plan was to shoot him after cumming in his mouth. That way the thug's semen would be the last thing Aceveda would taste.
