What makes it kino? I grew up before this era, they just looked like kids movies to me.
the music and costume design tbh. the dialogue is up there with the first fast and the furious movie as campy in a really catchy way.

Just don't take it too seriously and just enjoy the world itself and you'll probably have a good time. The first 4 are the best, depends which ones you like most of them, but it's generally agreed one of those are people's favourite. The first is slow in terms of story and characters probably, but it looks really great
Also you're probably older so maybe the kids characters don't hit as well, but as i grow older i really enjoy the adult characters more, and it has a great cast
the whimsical kino doesn't extend past the first two films. the third is great too but departs from what made the first couple so magical.
Mostly the aesthetics i think, it harkens back to old european white traditions and aesthetics mostly. It has blacks and such sure, but it still feels like it's made for white people.

i rewatched fo the first time in 10 years recently and the first 4 films are pretty good, i think azkaban is the beginning of the end when they hired that director that loves his shitty war film color grading presets so every film looks like blue desaturated vomit.

Half-Blood Prince was almost unwachable. 90% of the screen is black/green. It's an abomination.

Correct but Stephen Fry narrating is probably the most kino way to enjoy Harry Potter. All the character voices are perfect. His reading of the Sherlock Holmes series is also brilliantly done.
His young female voices aren't great and sounds like a joke parody, but otherwise he's fantastic yeah. His old women voices are great too
