What gives me hope that this show won't be cringe dogshit like Cowboy bebop is that Oda was directly involved and wouldn't let the show writers or other producers do any changes that he didn't like. Meanwhile cowboy bebop's creator, who wasn't involved with the show at all, had to turn it off after 20 minutes of watching the first episode because of how bad it was to him.
I wish Oda gave half as much of a shit about the video games that he did for the live action show apparently. OP Odyssey was offensively bad for what should have been a no brainer premise, and World Seeker before it was even worse
