the real heroes were Bilbo and Sam
Sam and bilbo wouldn't have made it carrying the ring to mordor
In the book, God is the real hero because he makes Gollum trip and fall.
I thought Tolkien only mentioned that in his letters.
I'm the real hero.
Why didn't Gandalf just use the eagles to get it there?
The eye would have burned the eagles feathers with his flame stare and then the nazguls would rape them
Why didn't Sauron and the nazguls do that to Sam and Frodo?
many close calls, they hid behind rocks though
He's the good guy because i want to pin him down in the grass and rub my mouth all over his face while humping away. He’d flinch with every thrust yet maintain a sort of listless abdication of hope - just lying there waiting for it to be over so he can wither away in peace.
yeah man....
no
there is no real hero because mortals are powerless in the face of evil, but thats ok because evil is self-defeating and powerless in the face of good
look man, its just a dumb fantasy story
do you get mad that the kid in the goodnight moon book never ate his bowl full of mush?
Hero’s Journey
I never noticed how attractive he was.
He made it further than 99.999% would have and him getting it as far as he did was what got it destroyed.
So Isildur was probably as strong willed as any other, despite his power he still managed to walk into the edge of mt doom like Frodo and only then he turned around. So its not just the men that were weak
Isildur carried it 100 feet from the foot of mount doom to the inside. Frodo dealt with the ring for waaaaaaaaaay more distance.
He also had to deal with seemingly good and noble people around him often losing their fricking minds at the mere prospect of getting the ring. The temptation to claim it for himself as a potential protection from those episodes must have been staggering. That's one part of the insidious power of the ring few mention.
Yes. Bilbo showing mercy, even to the undeserving, was what saved everyone and the world.
They literally did friendship is magic.
The ring broke Frodo and he sided with evil
The good guys won only because of luck
he was from Buckland, after all
The official explanation is that nobody in Middle Earth could willingly destroy the Ring in the end, and so God decided that managing to carry it to Mt Doom was good enough, and did the rest.
He's the hero for getting that far.
Anglos like their tragic heroes who fail in the attempt against overwhelming odds.
why did they have to carry the ring around their neck? Why not wrap it in cloth and carry it in a backpack?
Frodo is the escort mission NPC. You must protect him at all cost until he reaches Mt Doom, after which the unskippable cutscene plays.
Bilbo saved Gollum. Frodo saved Gollum too. And Gollum hid the One Ring for more than 5 centuries as well, Gollum could have became a ring wraith but he resisted.
Who would have been able to carry the ring all the way to mount doom if not Frodo? Everyone was a pussy ass b***h until little guy stepped up
