>How does this work?
>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
>There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.
>If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
>If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

Heh.
Have her solve a maze.
Would that involve stretching to get a high view point to solve it or stretching her head through it while the rest of her body stays at the start waiting for her to find the finish?
Not that anon, but was thinking it must be like that episode of Adventure Time where Jake stretched himself throughout the who castle so they could get a wish.
Basically the latter but with her whole body I assume. Neck could work too.
Yes, she tries the "follow the right wall" approach stretching along it.
I dig it. Does bring up if there is a /coc/ character that would subject her to such a maze to begin with, like Riddler having Batman go through a maze/labyrinth.
The problem with mazes is you usually can't find one other than a hedge maze, which is easily cheated.
The solution? Boss Moss enchanted the plants to grow into a maze so it can punish cheaters.
Trying to think of other ways of doing mazes
Things like a scooby doo hallway chase scene turned into a maze
A sky scrapper maze giving some verticality to the getting lost
A giant brain where you have to find your way through the wrinkles
Stuff like that
More run-ins of these two would be cute too.
Hope everyone is having a good sunday
Thanks, I actually managed to take a one hour nap without getting a wicked headache afterwards.
It was really nice.
Do naps usually do that?
They do whenever I take them.
L L Claybug?
Tiny yellow gremlin. Getting ready to fight a Green Lantern, maybe.
Uh oh.
lila no
Is she gonna use that whip?
Only if it's consensual.
So only if he's using it on her.
Exactly.
Or if he gets something out of it.
He gotta do what he can to survive yknow
Plus the pussy game ridiculous.
NTH should meet The Careless Catapult.
The anger NTH would feel over meeting a stereotypical high black man and CC not caring about any of NTH's impotent rage would be great.
Dang, I forgot to attach the pic, even after I went back into the archives to find one.
Ladybug gonna save his drunk ass again?
Bring out the syrup, I wanna lick her clean.
>Bring out the syrup, I wanna lick her clean.
a syrup-covered Ladybug trying to pose all sexy would make for a pretty funny pinup, come to think of it. Lila does call her shortack, after all. Give her a little pat of butter as a prop.
Fast night tonight. Bumping because I might have somethign to post later.
Hey everyone: SCP-Anon here.
I've come to unfortunatley announce that I will no longer be doing a SCP Crossover Project due to a issue and all respectively from the licensing captain and other things.
So the project is non-existent now and I will pretty much still be here though, and will try my best into doing some story ideas for LL and many a few others!
I hope this announcement doesn't hurt anyone, but it had to be made because what I was doing with that obsession stuff was bad.
No worries, it was an ambitious concept and it's better to cut things early when you realize it's not going to be feasible than after you've thrown a ton of resources at it. Hope you find success with future endeavors.
I don't come to these threads often. What was the SCP crossover project?
One young anon from the SCP site was interested in creating a crossover setting utilizing the SCP foundation and /coc/ characters, reimagined as more down-to-earth to fit together better. He referred to it as 20XX sometimes, I believe.
THEFAPV Update: I've been on pause because typical life things, but currently at panel 207/270 for the last couple weeks. My plan are to go whole hog into it soon since I will not have time to finish any art stuff past a certain date, so It'll hopefully be in the upload online stage by the end of July.
Shame, I hope you get to do more things you enjoy at least.
He looks like a fun character to utilize. Probably leaves macguffins of ridiculous powers lying around as a joke. Or he's just very forgetful.
That is the gayest tree I've ever seen
Both in happiest term and homosexual terms
That means THEFAPV anon is doing it right.
Well, goodnight everyone.
>SCP
>licensing
Since when did SCP have that? Does that also affect Cinemaphilentainment?
Probably opportunistic autistic buttholes being capitalists violating the very clearly defined rules of public use internet creations
It shouldn't effect anything we do.
/co/ntainment was always it's own thing.
Worth cleaning up?
Or move on to next drawing?
I'd say worth it! Looks damn nice!
just in time for summer
That's worth cleaning up I think
A maze that's in a giant box that rotates and the maze has different solutions depending on the orientation.
Nice work!
Inspired somewhat by THEFAPV anon's description of a "toonforce" character transforming Death Nellie, I'm trying my hand at designing a Mxyzptlk type for /coc/. So far I've got some kind of cosmic clown in silver and gold. Not sure if I should focus on diamonds or spirals as a core design element, or just keep using both.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
i love it
Well, thank you. Guess I'll stay the course for now.
>He looks like a fun character to utilize. Probably leaves macguffins of ridiculous powers lying around as a joke. Or he's just very forgetful.
Who knows what wonders he conceals under that clowny poncho? I'm thinking of calling him "Syzygy Stardust" or something like that.
How do you pronounce "Syzygy"?
/ˈsJzədʒi/ SIZ-ə-jee; according to Wikipedia. I figure it looks enough like a nonsense word to reflect his Mxyzptlkian inspiration while also lending cosmic flavor [and a pun!]
The name did make me think of that filth dimensional trickster.
That's one of those names I look at and assume that it can only be properly pronounced while falling down the stairs
With rocks in your mouth.
Decided to try and draw Crackdown's actual face myself, moderately pleased with the result.
The kind of tired sleep won't fix
Yeah, and the fact that he rarely gets a good night's sleep, even when he has no midnight superheroin' to do, doesn't help much either.
It's honestly a miracle he's able to maintain his physique with such a schedule.
Speaking of, this week is absolutely loaded for me in terms of work and other irl bullshit, so I'll probably not be as active this time around with lore and whatnot.
Sleep won't fix it but it doesn't hurt, certainly. I guess his build is just naturally cracked
Average night in the life of Arthur Braun:
>11 PM - go to bed
>11 PM to 1:30 AM - lie in bed thinking about things and certain people, browse your phone
>1:30 AM to 3 AM - go on patrol to get some fresh air
>3 AM to 5 AM - have a cup or two of green mint/lemon balm tea while browsing the web if you find nothing
>~5 AM - start to get sleepy and ACTUALLY go to bed so you can get your well deserved 1,5-2 hours of shut-eye before the alarm clock goes off
He takes the early classes eh?
I always read him as being a little older since he had time to drop out and come back.
Honestly, I feel like it would make sense for NTH to be somewhat startled by Crackdown, since the fact of his open conflict with various crime families and syndicates would probably reach the hood in no time.
It may not fully prevent him from talking shit, but it might make him think twice cause "whiteboy's got a deathwish".
>he takes the early classes eh?
It's mostly so he can get to the gym just as it opens.
He likes his working out sessions nice and quiet.
>I always read him as being a little older since he had time to drop out and come back
He reapplied 1-2 years after the fact, so it still tracks, I think.
Hell, he might've even got reinstated via leave of absence.
Arthur might hate his father, but at least he taught him that bureaucracy can be bent to your will if you "talk" to the right people.
And mental health problems is a legitimate reason to have one anyway.
>Honestly, I feel like it would make sense for NTH to be somewhat startled by Crackdown, since the fact of his open conflict with various crime families and syndicates would probably reach the hood in no time.
Lol yea, NTH hates where he lives. He only survives because he's a nerd and talks shit because he got that attitude from his environment. He is a bit of a coward, which is two-fold, because it means he'll be the kind of person who knows when to gtfo of a situation if it deals with someone or something too powerful for him.
This is actually a plot in some script I have that has him dealing with hellish dimension spawns that will probably frick him up. I got it from watching The Event Horizon. Pray for his soul because it's some cosmic lovecraftian horror stuff.
I gotta know more about this guy lol
>He's sort of a bum/guy who does oddjobs, who has no aspiration in life but having fun and relax. He inherited a lot of money from his relatives, but he can't get it all unless he finds a permanent steady job that pays well. For now, he just gets periodically enough to get by.
>He has two powers, one that makes him temporarily invulnerable, and another that makes him generate a lot of energy from his feet. Energy that he uses to launch himself in the air.
>His powers are formidable by themselves, but due to his lazy nature he generally puts the minimal amount of effort and just launches himself at his foes. If the first time didn't work, try again, and again, and again, until it either works or it's too much of a bother to do the same.
>Generally he doesn't stay too long in the same city due to collecting a lot of heat for collateral damages. His favorite places to go is in tahiti and other tropical paradises.
He was a character from about a year ago.
One time Ladybug dropped him at a rehab center.
Wasn't there abother chill type character but white and had sunglasses or something? I forgot his name.
Mr Mellow?
Mr. Mellow is so chill because they put something in his brain.
Now he uses the power of "comfy" for evil.
And goodnight.
I'm gonna pretend they went to bed too after eating too much pizza.
Good night!
The Careless Catapult and Mr. Mellow should meet at some point. How will it go?
Disturbing for the Careless Catapult.
Milk. To go with the cookies made just like how grandma makes them.
What's his drink of choice?
Didn’t he also has an evil twin or something? I think it had trebuchet in his name. Also, since the twin wasn’t lazy af, he was an actual threat for using his invincibility to its maximum
It's the kind of face you think you've seen before, but can't place.
Glad I was able to communicate that part about him.
Also, I wanted to draw how he'd look like at different points throughout his personal journey (bags under his eyes receding, his hair being more well-kept now that he has an insentive to take care of himself and so on), but now I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to that.
When's the last time anyone talked about Motion?
That shitposting pic of transwomen in women's sports is the only thing I can recall
I remember Motion bring a character before the gender identity politics thing took over the comic industry.
Poor Motion.
There was drama and shitposting even back then surrounding the character, but for different reasons.
I'm curious now
Gonna draw Crackdown and NTH but I don't know how they will chill with each other lol
Back during 2010ish when anons still had a positive outlook on the world and thought Cinemaphile projects would just keep going and going there were some who got obsessed over claiming rights and ownership over ideas. As if there was actually money to be made.
They then ran the characters and ideas into the ground because of it throwing multiple tantrums. They fricked off to who knows where ages ago and by 2013 Motion was something we could at least discuss civilly again for a time with Morgan taking an interest in the characters and doing art and comics with them. And then other shit happened in the world between then and now.
This is one of the reasons why the "community toy chest" thing was put in the explanation. To cut the head off of any of that shit in advance, like a disclaimer.
>there were some who got obsessed over claiming rights and ownership over ideas. As if there was actually money to be made.
I'm going to be honest here and say that I'm guilty of claiming ownership sometimes, although it wasn't about money more than trying to get my name out there, since artists and writers just have a hard time making money compared to other jobs. It's always about referrals and recommendations for us.
I've already acknowledged artists and writers a long time ago since I've been either homeless or a vagabond for the past few years. I just pay them.
There's a distinction to be made over using something you've drawn/written as an example of your talents and someone who says "this is mine now, you can't use them anymore".
Oh now that's a different story
It's funny because one of Cinemaphile's projects did end up making money. Turns out you just need to be something more than an "Editor" to cash out.
his villainy knows no bounds!
>Gonna draw Crackdown and NTH but I don't know how they will chill with each other lol
See
Have NTH try to be his usual wienery self, but also make it apparent that he's really anxious about making Arthur actually mad cause he sees him as a crazy sociopath like pic related.
I kinda thought NTH was holding a plain brown shirt at first lol! I get it now that he's actually holding a burger bag. Btw what are the trademark burger places dose LL loves to eat at or get her burgers from?
Back in her home town there was a little local hole in the wall burger joint called Greasy Dan's. In Los Palos there's the fast food chain Burgerlord and the food truck Buns On The Run [at which Marley will be at least briefly employed].
Do think she'd marry a guy that own his own successful burger joint?
>a big burger grill-off to determine who is most worthy to woo the Ladybug
>Marley has no idea what's going on and just chows down, thinking it's a field day or something
>goes home without crowning a winner
Which eat a guy wearing a burger mascot if she was hungry enough lol.
>eat a guy wearing a burger mascot
My bad. I meant would she eat a guy wearing a burger mascot if she was hungry enough? lol.
Such a scenario is not without its dangers...
She probably eat his suit and leave him naked? I do not know it really depends how hungry she is I guess. No burger is safe when LL is nearby.
>She probably eat his suit and leave him naked?
Not before I do it to her first, yum!
>plain brown shirt
You trippin?
"Aww... midget"gets me every time
NTH and Art can bond over their mutual antipathy for the gremlin.
Only if it's Ladybug, Arthur would sooner smash him in the face than allow Marley bullying.
Nah. NTH just picks on Marley like a little kid brother. he doesn't even know she's a female because she's pretty flat.
Would Crackdown like it if NTH usually hangs out in a strip club or drug den, or that he hooks up with random girls on sex apps for sex almost all the time
>drug den
He'd hate his fricking guts, not gonna lie.
Arthur can't stand criminal activity that uses suffering as a commodity (namley drug trade and human trafficking), since seeing the harm of it first-hand was pretty much what pushed him into straight up vigilantism.
He wouldn't approve of promiscuity, but I guess that part would pale in comparison.
I brought up the absolute shit show of their production in another thread.
Link to the post please? I want to read.
Whos taller, Crackdown or NTH?
Arthur is like 6'3 (appears 6'2 because of the slouch, which also doesn't make him being fit as apparent).
Can't really speak for NTH.
How old would crackdown be? NTH is early or mid 20s.
Same age group as Marley and Lila basically, so 19-22.
LL tries to stop a robbery but gets Smothered by the windshield. Basically, is a splattered window bug joke but she's more knocked out.
I've heard she's flat but this is ridiculous!
Ladybug's High metabolism is a blessing and a curse.
Think it might be a curse more than a blessing. Do you think she rather be fat with big boobs?
Nice, our heroine saved the day again thanks to her lump bump!
Stay Short and flat.
Something we didn't ask for but loved that we got!
Please keep your fat fetish to yourself anon!
More cursed. You know what she wished she had.
Ladybug pancake.
>But long story short, there's a CC-BY-SA license and you guys can't really fit the bill with that, I guess.
I assumed everything made here in /coc/ was CC-0, is it not?
Not sure. Much of the actual drawn stuff is signed at the very least.
It can be signed and still be released as CC-0.
I figure this part
>>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
basically meant you were giving up rights to your creations, for anyone to use.
I don't entirely know how CC works but using characters/concepts is one thing, taking (for example) a Magi pic and saying "I made this" is another.
>taking (for example) a Magi pic and saying "I made this" is another.
That's not what CC is about, it's being able to transform, adapt or use a concept, art or design without needing any further permission from anyone. If it's CC-0 you don't need to credit, but you still can't claim you made it. With CC-BY you must credit the original creator.
Bump
The hero we needed.
That's a power even jannies envy
Wonderful
It's true!
Nice.
good legs, GG
>good legs, GG
Yeah she's actually mostly leg.
Shame she can't balance enough to kick with them.
BIG big bug booba!
Are there any racist /coc/s?
NTH is racist against whites.
Newman calls NTH a Black person every chance he gets.
Going to McDonalds. Whatchu guys want?
Double cheeseburger and fries, hold the mustard
Spicy McChicken with Double Big Mac
2 triple cheeseburgers with bacon and lettuce, large Sprite and a oreo mcflurry.
Something is wrong this boy
He's sick, sick with love.
He's french
How many kids will they have?
Millions
What is the best element for a villain?
cum
The element of surprise.
Common is fire or shadow. Personal favorite is water
Plastic
Neon or Mercury
Or Potassium if you want to include bananas in their gimmick
Helium
They will pay for laughing at his squeaky voice
THEY ALL WILL PAY I TELL YOU!
Doodles of some new character concepts, including a slightly more fleshed out space clown design [and a very simplified depiction of THEFAPV anon's description of events]
Car armor girl's armor reminds me of those military uniforms that make people's shoulders look like the Frankenstein's monster.
Fun game: add or remove a letter from the title of an existing show or comic to create a new one
>Supperman: The adventures of the world's first morbidly obese superhero
>Ten Titans
>There’s ten of them
Actually I'd watch that
Ten of each or ten team members total?
Bateman.
Ben 1. He can turn into a single alien and that's it
>Greens Arrow
>For kids lacking in proper nutrition he shares a myriad of grilled vegies delivered air mail via his shish kabob arrow.
>Often taken as a threat due to the impaling nature of his distribution method
Reminds me of that one pic with the kids lined up with fruit on their heads as a blindfolded Ollie takes aim
Got some new enemy concepts for JackHammer
First one is Brain Dead
>Real name Brian Doyle
>Zombie teen, mean machine
>Got virus powers like Albert Wesker and anything you can rip off Resident Evil
>His most potent power is to infect people with zombie virus, turning them into temporary mindless minions under his command
>He really likes to make an army of undead like himself, unfortunately he’s the only one with a mind still intact… so much for socializing
>He’s a punk who loves music, especially Death Metal
>One of his favourite hobbies is watching movies and binging TV shows, like Shaun of the Dead or Walking Dead
>Got an impressive collection of manholes and other stuff picked from the street, the only thing he likes more than getting them is throwing them at people
>Just to prove how tough he is, and how accurate his name could be, he once resolved any interaction in a day with headbutts
>Favourite slushy flavour is a mixed of cherry and watermelon. He mostly likes it because the colors looks like people flesh, but it actually tastes better
Lots of mind controlling or mind altering villain ideas surrounding Jack.
I wonder if it's because he's thick headed enough to ignore all the effects of that sort of thing.
Could be. Not bad at all
Second one is Man Pyre I first proposed it to the Honeybee thread for an AU Human Torch, but they preferred to do a new concept
>Real name Mann Feuerschwinge
>Handsome lad, quite the hot stuff
>Owner of many businesses following new trends, he’s pretty lit
>Powers are pyrokinesis, taking a flaming form, and looking smooth while doing it
>Possible origin for his abilities comes from a cursed demonic book he got from a witch hunter decades/centuries ago
>Did he make a pact with the devil? Is he a demon in human guise? Possessed by the ghosts of warlocks and witches burned to death in the past? Or is it simply his meta ability cleverly disguised with mysticism?
>His villain persona’s appearance is him igniting his fireproof suit with blue fire, while he himself… is also on fire! With big horns made of fire too!
>He really likes to smoke cigarettes, especially while wearing shades as he was told that it makes him look cool. Unfortunately, he can’t use cigs while in his “supersuit”
>He can expertly pull out his smartphone and book reservations for fancy restaurants, perfect for any occasion, before you even have the time to decide between eating Italian or going for sushi
>Most of everything he uses and wears are things made by his companies or things he designed himself
Got a new concept more in touch with Jack’s personal life
STRONG-ARM / ARMSTRONG!
>Real name Gabriel Dufort
>Young teen in Jack and Kurt’s football team, he was the weakest of the group, and got bullied out of it by Bull-E and the Mean Teens
>Got swayed by a villain into experimenting a new “steroid”, so he could take his revenge and become MVP
>The concoction is an experimental formula of a mix of drugs and DNA from modified beasts
>Went back to the team, and performed extremely well, high above even Jack, he says he just needed to gain his confidence
>Bull-E confronts him. He hates being outdone by Jack, and hates it even more when it’s one of his weak, pathetic victims doing it
>Gabriel explodes with rage, the drug gets unstable and mutates him. He beats the crap out of Bull-E (well, before he has the time to transform)
>Jack has to intervene on a now berserk Gabriel
>Eventually subdue him, but even if the drug stabilized it is now a permanent part of Gabriel’s system
>Gabriel, while forgiven for his outburst, is also not welcomed into the team anymore. For using violence on a teammate, but mostly using drugs and using meta-abilities during play
>Jack now wonders about himself, if he should stop being JackHammer and using his gift to still do what he loves, if only he is never discovered… abandon his passion for heroism, or thread a dangerous line between the two at the risk of loosing everything if the truth comes out
Isn't that a Marco copy from Star Verses?
Sorta I think
I took the pic from a Marco fanart, yeah
I think he can shapeshift/stretch/mutate the arm that got the seringue dose, he can also do the same to the rest of his body, but to a minor extent
>Mercs are fun for one-off small time bad guys. The difficulty is using them repeatedly.
As a Cinemaphile project, I doubt we’ll ever reach the point where they are considered used too much
Is his arm a tentacle, or can he just shapeshift one arm or stretch one arm?
At some point we will need to address Jack's concerns about his powers and him playing football. He doesn't use his powers during games or practice, but he might think he's doing it subconsciously.
I hate to say this, but the quality of posts on Cinemaphile is way, way down. Somehow these threads have remained semi-consistent, I don't know how, but at least there's that.
Mercs are fun for one-off small time bad guys. The difficulty is using them repeatedly.
Well, huh, I’ll just keep coming with concepts…
How about this one: Riposte!
>French mercenary, real name unknown (but probably French)
>Master swordsman, he is a blade for hire, and his fees aren’t cheap!
>Like, he could totally afford a three musketeers cosplay made with gold if he wanted too
>His main contracts are fighting capes when they become too much of a hassle for criminal enterprises, thus the name Riposte
>He sometimes like to style on his opponents by reciting poetry or haikus of his own making during battles
>He has three dogs at home, he loves them very much and they think he’s a great owner
>Often partake in dating activities in civvies, no luck in that area. He doesn’t have the seduction game of his homeland
>His favourite fruit is lemon, especially in a lemon pie with meringue
>Teach fencing at his own school every once in a while, while not on a job
>Real good with kids, and will never take a contract aimed at a young caper
The animation project thread hit bump and I'm feeling anxious.
I really want it to succeed, but I don't know how long it'll take for the next thread. I don't think there's enough momentum and noassigned roles yet so I'm not sure when to expect the next thread.
If it isn't made in the next 3 or 4 hours I might bite the bullet and make it myself.
I know these sort of projects tend to come and go and fizzle out but I'd actually really like to test that method of splitting things up to multiple people and having an actual plan in place. Being modular, if someone drops they can be replaced easily if the other work is done.
Thank you for coming to my blog post, and I'm sorry thr other anons were sperging about refusing to do a Ladybug related thing.
I just want a Cinemaphile animation project to suceed.
Also bump
>Thank you for coming to my blog post, and I'm sorry thr other anons were sperging about refusing to do a Ladybug related thing.
It seems to be a common theme, between this and the Ms. Cinemaphile tournament nobody outside these threads seems to want to have anything to do with her.
I blame tourists but frankly I'm starting to think /coc/ characters being contained in /coc/ is good for quality control.
just randomly throwing this out there but what would Jack Hammer do upon encountering Jane Nail?
They'd get hammered, and someone would get nailed.
Got a new enemy! Spectrum! Inspired partly by Halo from DC
>He/She/They (whatever you like) is named Charlie. Could go for the lgbt representation, but I also like the take of Crona from Soul Eater where the gender is never specified
>Can turn into a ghost with powers associated to the colors from the rainbow (Phase through solid matter, Flying, Invisibility, Telekinesis, Fear aura, Possession, Create portals… like to the ghost realm)
>Quite an hipster, yet is also an hypocrite if able to chase after anything fun
>Got their powers from a machine malfunctioning while a mystical rainbow gem from another world exploded inside it
>The gem is inside their body, but they can’t use all the powers at once because it is fragmented. Though with constant uses it pieces itself back together, but at the risk of condemning its host to be a ghost forever
>Fights for any cause, mostly to stick up to “The Man”, which ranges from the greedy evil CEO to the poor guy inside a mascot suit outside a fast-food joint
>Is into so many causes/fights, ends up mixing some together and forgetting others, all in all making a mess
>Really likes theatre, improv shows, humorous talents and opera. Tell no one, but they frequently listen to boy bands. If you do tell, they’ll just deny it
>Aims to find a place to belong, now is considering which house in ruins to haunt
>Once scared the literal pants off some guy, then possessed the pants to chase after said guy and bite his ass
>>Once scared the literal pants off some guy, then possessed the pants to chase after said guy and bite his ass
Now that is a good idea. Popper spooky that is.
Thanks. Got inspiration from playing Monster Prom. Brain Dead is a combination of the player and Damian, while Spectrum is Polly and Liam.
>>Once scared the literal pants off some guy, then possessed the pants to chase after said guy and bite his ass
Is that what happened to Fancy Pant's pants?
Sooo, what if instead of a religion banning the consumption of a certain meat, there was one encouraging the devouring of all kinds? Or a sect rather?
I got the name Bishop in mind, and thought, what if it was Bi-chop instead? At first I thought of a murder and cannibalism sect, but realized it would surely not fit the setting. So instead you have a group of hunters/poachers, farmers and hillbillies being part of the Apex Predator Congregation. All after either the most exotic or abundant source of meat possible. Like one of their plans could consist of raiding the zoo and feast on some lion tartare, or overfish and catching some extra ingredients like sharks and dolphins.
The Bi-Chop is the head religious figure, a highly respected cook and martial fighter. Their signature weapon is a double-axe-cane/sceptre
He never recovered, and it was so hilarious, it inspired a TV show “Honey Where Are My Pants?”
So kind of like SCP-3240 but more organized?
Who?
Sounds like Chinese traditional medicine
There was a webcomic about that once-upon-a-time-ago. Skadi had the quest to eat every type of meat.
It seems like Dan has generated way less interest than Ai'den or Playwright which... I guess makes sense, since he doesn't do or say anything.
This is somewhat of an issue because he's supposed to be a much more "casual" reoccuring opponent for Crackdown, someone he regularly fights when he's not involved in matters of a more personal nature with other two and Meon.
I feel like I should give him a right-hand (both hands and mouth?) man his abilities can play out of.
Maybe even make his girlfriend an actual character, I dunno.
That’d be all for me tonight. Sleep well
I'm also going to bed now.
Goodnight.
Could the Careless Catapult make NTH and Crackdown lighten up at all?
With weed?
>one is a anti-white racist
>other is a borderline misanthrope
Unless they're assisting him in taking down some bigger fish, Crackdown would rather be literally anywhere else.
Also, I don't remember if I've mentioned it, but Arthur got bullied in his childhood for being half-german, so unless NTH tones his usual "banter" down it probably won't end well.
>Arthur got bullied in his childhood for being half-german
Kek
How would he get along with someone who likes Germans?
Germans have extreme white guilt so probably even worse than he gets on with NTH
>Germans have extreme white guilt
The thing is: even though he *really* wouldn't want to admit that, he's still more culturally russian than german (or american, for that matter), so that kind of stuff doesn't hold much power over him.
Not that it would help the two to get along any better, see
Newman sure does like hurting people's feelings.
Can Arthur beat Newman in a drinking challenge?
Arthur doesn't drink much and him agreeing to do so with someone is pretty much a signifier of a great deal of trust in his bottle buddy (this actually comes into play in his relationship with the landlord lady), a courtesy that Newman 100% isn't going to get.
But, speaking in purely technical terms: he has enough bodyweight and natural resistance to carry him pretty far, but he's most likely not coming out as a winnner in this due to the lack of experience in getting shitfaced.
The more I hear about his near teetotaller ways the more he makes me think of Jason, at least the way he's depicted by fans
>Jason
A rational comparison.
One might consider such rigid self-discipline as a coping mechanism: it's been established very early on that he didn't derive much enjoyment from living as Arthur Braun until reapplying to college, which is why his Crackdown identity took over his life for a bit.
Staying in shape for the sake of his superhero work might be one of the few things that would've kept him from spiralling out completely up until that point.
>due to the lack of experience in getting shitfaced.
makes sense. I remember reading that Arthur was early 20s.
Newman is in his early to mid 30s. He's had experience in drinking with others
He'd call Arthur a mongol rapebaby or something.
Bump!
>Crackdown would be more favorable towards a mob boss than a drug and tinder user like NTH
It's NTH's personality isn’t it
>a deeply introverted person prefers the company of someone who's extremely easy to interact with rather than the exact opposite of that
He's looking smooth.
Speaking of interactions with established characters, I feel like Crackdown would have a somewhat favourable (comparatively speaking) opinion on Diego despite him being a mob boss.
Hell, he might even consider him a lesser evil and deliberately keep him around as a "buffer" for Los Palos' criminal underworld, kind of like how Japanese authorities sometimes overlook yakuza activities because they keep chinese gangs in check.
Depends on how black-and-white his view of morality is.
Well, Mancera's men are supposed to be based off of the colombian cartel, so it would be easy to imagine that neither of them would want those guys to get more foothold in the city.
As for morality: it's entirely possible for Arthur to go "just keep anything harder than weed off your turf and we'll call it good" and leave him for LL to handle.
He can be flexible in his approach.
We're in for a few hours of spam and shitposting so bump in hopes the thread survives that.
huh?
Why? what happened?
Sony press conference ended with Spider-man 2 footage. So we're due for an influx of Cinemaphile shitposters coming to complain that Miles exists.
We're already at 4 threads and counting.
Right now, seems to be the same amount of live action shit in the catalog as usual.
So, so far, how are the character concepts?
Some of them stand out more than others.
Armstrong (call him Stretch for short) feels like he could work really well in the plot you described.
I see. That’s good to hear.
Got another silly concept in mind. A villain that can bring out creatures and objects out of art pieces… by tearing them apart!
And his signature move… summoning a tank! By tearing up his tank-top!
Hence the name… Tank-Top! Real name Victor Smith! I’m also considering Vandal
Basically he’s a Kenshiro meme, flexing his muscles and going to town on his enemies.
Also has many posters, comics, photos and drawings to use. Also uses trading cards and anime figurines, but lately he has been hesitant to destroy some of them. He couldn’t help but look at the anime and mangas where his stuff comes from, and he grew to like some of them.
His super secret signature move is to tear up his briefs, because they’re action hero prints! To use only in emergencies!
He has a plan. It includes a printer. Now rise his army made from paper! And just beware, his paper tigers are more than you can handle!
Causes millions of damages when he once heist a museum. Well if he can’t steal and resell the art pieces, then they will ensure he escapes the authorities.
Once threw the wildest party of all time by destroying music albums and movie posters, bringing up famous musicians and celebrities! And it barely cost him anything!
Surprisingly he excels at making art of his own, and hesitates to use his power on those. Not out of self superiority, but lack of conviction. It doesn’t demand much when you sacrifice other people’s stuff
Sounds like he and Quickdraw would be... enemies.
Who?
Quickdraw. Anything he draws he can bring to life.
I see. Yeah, natural enemies
Man, old Cheshire feels so alien now.
Would be funny if Quickdraw has /beg/ tier skills and he gets extremely flustered when people try to guess what he drew
Would be funny if he got that skill randomly when trying to hide his very awful drawing of a big boob catgirl
His powers manifested when he was a child. He used to (or maybe still does) carry around a giant crayon.
Tourist here. I wanted to know if any of you guys have ever approached Adultswim or other cartoon studios with your ideas. I have a very bizarre one I been thinking for several weeks and was wondering how people usually submit their ideas
Not that I know of.
Usually, you need to get noticed first before something like [as] will look at you. Getting noticed has become increasingly hard over the past decade since the meme lifecycle has been reduced to that of a fruit fly's.
Oooh…shame. I guess other than that you just have to have a shit ton of money
Adult Swim is too cowardly for our degenerate ideas and too lolrandum for our lore heavy ideas.
I mean they did show dinosaur cloaca and revive a decade-dead show just to give it a conclusion. But maybe that's Genddy power more than anything.
They can’t say no to money though, even if I present them with the most ridiculous idea which is the one I would love to see happen
Sorry I haven't been getting much done lately.
good nite.
dude, you're doing a lot, never apologise about it
Goodnight.
I'm not getting much done lately either between my friend getting me into The Stormlight Archive and the new Zelda game.
>I'm not getting much done lately either between my friend getting me into The Stormlight Archive and the new Zelda game.
Extremely based taste on both counts. I'm sure Sanderson's finished another book by now, I gotta try and find it.
One of you autists ruined the chance of getting a Lovely Ladybug animation.
It probably wasn't anyone from here having a melty, most likely. And frankly I'm not sure we'd want someone that unstable representing /coc/ with animation in the first place. If Ladybug gets some sort of cartoon short, best have it from folks who actually like the character, and aren't insane control freaks.
My personal bet is that animation project thread goes nowhere, like Care Birds back in the day
Those threads are running out steam already, it would not have happened regardless
Wasn't us. Notice that whenever someone was talking about Ladybug a bunch of people jumped on them as if they were talking about Golden Girl even though they're two completely different franchises?
And it doesn't matter since that thread was never going to amount to anything. Collators and organizers don't produce results. Drawgays and writegays do.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was that anon from Honeybee threads who has a massive hateboner for GG for some reason.
What a silly billy.
>Wouldn't be surprised if it was that anon from Honeybee threads who has a massive hateboner for GG for some reason.
Yep, that's what I was thinking too.
Seems doubtful to me, or he'd have forwarded Honeybee as an option.
Which reminds me, is there a list of failed Cinemaphile projects?
I know the channel movie is one
>a portion of people simply disappeared from the project into thin fricking air because of a "nazi duck"
lol
lmao
I think it was because they were ducks in general, not that they were nazis.
I think the thread could have been a great opportunity to make something out of Stargaze
agree
You think it’s too late to suggest it and make them change course?
They're already completely in concept art for characters, so yeah. As an option, if they succeed, they gain experience and maybe take on Stargaze for the next animation. But that's a big "if"
Yeah. Maybe remake the thread in a month or two with an emphasis on Stargaze?
Maybe, but not sure. If those threads die out quickly, it's unlikely that Stargaze will be able to regain their interest.
Yes, but what they are attempting to do is something that will be done with Stargaze eventually (I'm talking about animation in whatever form).
Personally, I hope they succede in their project. All of Cinemaphile would benefit from that.
My personal opinion is that it would be too soon. First let's make something about Stargaze that can become a less than 3 minutes animation (an Intro? Outro? PSA about the obstacles of collaborative projects?), then there can be a thread like the one of the ducks.
As I said above, I think there should be that actual content first. And I have a gut feeling that invading or taking possession of other threads would be ill received, so i suggest to continue with the Stargaze threads, maybe a "and now we animate!" edition or something when there's something ready.
But I may be wrong and for sure I'm not dictating what to do.
>I will continue the duck animation to it's completion or failure.
That's the spirit. May the Lightstar be with you.
>Collators and organizers don't produce results. Drawgays and writegays do.
>writergays do.
To the people of the Stargaze threads, I swear I'm working on the Rock-it episode. And also on another greentext. But God knows if dialogues aren't my Achilles' heel.
I like that relationship chart!
Why, thank you. That's one of my charts. It may be a bit lacking tho', but I don't know what to do to make it better.
To tell the truth, I don't think all of my charts in the Stargaze threads are useful. Maybe the only useful ones are he characters chart, the timeline and the episode list. And the last two are quite barren. It gnaws my soul at night.
Anyway, have a useless chart (because all of this is on the wiki). It's probably wrong and I put a disclaimer because of this, but take it as a sign of gratitude for welcoming the discussion about Stargaze in this thread.
And I really like Lovely Ladybug.
I like how Dandar takes up half of the Friends list just by himself
Nice.
Now for the villain chart.
Actually, is there even a splash page made of them?
No, there's no splash page for the villain groups.
oh my god
STARGAZE! it's been a while since I saw Starro and Comet and the other characters
hope we will get a new thread soon
this is Zylix's anon btw
I'm the OP of the original thread and wanted to do Lovely Ladybug, I suggested her in the OP after all, but then someone came in and poisoned the well against her and /coc/ in general, mostly because of Golden Girl I think. I would have preferred Stargaze instead of ducks for the theme of 80s intro as well, but it's too late now. Whether the co animation project is successful or fails I think either way you may have difficulty convincing people to do anything /coc/ or Stargaze related now unfortunately.
Trust furries to ruin everything.
Honestly the problem is it's not furry enough. The winning idea was to do a sort of Thundercats/TMNT style cartoon intro and instead the ducks are just...feral ducks. They're not anthro enough for the joke to land.
We are avoiding furriness but even so I think the duck theme did detract, but I don't want to backtrack now.
That one design was too furry, but we might should have went with more Mighty Ducks style than the feral cartoony ducks.
I’m pretty sure it’s basically 3 anons talking amongst themselves now, I’m the anon who’s come up with most of character names and the initial world building, and I’m at the point where there’s not much more I want to contribute to it. I’m the one who made the geese Nazis since I like alliteration in naming schemes, I didn’t think they would actually roll with it
Well, we wait for the thread to die, and the following too, then we post our own one. With an added bonus: actual content to start from!
Or rather, a display of skills. Perhaps people would be more interested in a project if they see something concrete would be made out of it
You can if you'd like but I don't want to abandon it, I will continue the duck animation to it's completion or failure.
But it’s about nazi ducks, no? What is good enough about that concept?
It's not about the concept, it's about not abandoning something I started.
>It's not about the concept, it's about not abandoning something I started.
And there is the lesson. Don't organize a project on Cinemaphile unless you're willing to be the only one working on it.
OP could have gotten what he wanted if only he
>stopped being a gay with polling fetish
>presented what he does want in the first place
>dumped everything made here, from lore to character sheet to art for reference
Most of the guys who are still in the duck shit now would have probably joined if they saw half their work is already done. Prevents conflict as well since haters can just filter it quick.
I hate that I been thinking of these two joke characters I made up for weeks now, what the hell
When do they team up to fight the dreaded Footman
Just going to slide Mills (previously known as Milly) here since I think she has potential. Credit to FlargyFiller for this shit
More prototype art. I’m thinking of making a website dedicated to archiving all of this stuff.
What would make Lila so hesitant?
Wrong answers only.
Life size Gojira dong replica.
That would make anyone hesitate.
Even the mightiest warrior should know heir limits.
So what can we do with LL on the upcoming future?
We have crackdown, and with his story and band of characters could potential crack open las Palos and it’s gentrified self.
I got an idea of Marley trying to make her become different, using a morpho-work, a bunch of bouncy balloon like material to give her…a modification, a false asset upgrade so to speak. Other words: Voluptous thick AF SHORTSTACK Marley!
Well, it seems like integration of Arthur and his characters into the narrative will happen very gradually (implying that it will happen in the first place), so banking on that right now wouldn't be that wise.
Plus, there are still some things that are in dire need of being flashed out further (Meon's design, Mancera's gang, a metric ton of stuff about Playwright and the Braun family, the landlord lady I kind of forgot about), so it would make sense to instead take something that was established in these threads, but wasn't yet reflected in the comics and go off of that.
Yeah, gotcha.
You guys got any more speedsters besides Rage Racer?
There's also Blue Shift.
That looks depressing.
Some RR backstory is actually more depressing.
Why is she angry?
Dad doesn't have much time to spend with her.
Her dad's speed powers also cause him to age at a faster rate, so he has to spend a lot of time in a rejuve tube. Less time spent with her + teenage angst + insidious cult that gave her new legs = angry punk with a grudge against the Justice Coalition.
Kinda thought that was a boy at first.
You know what, I'm gonna look up the wiki. This is kinda interesting.
That's why I prefer RR.
Goodnight.
goodnight
Bumping it!
bump
>as Crackdown keeps showing up to more conventional superhero adventures (sometimes with LL/other heroes and sometimes on his own) instead of doing his thing in dead of the night and vanishing without a trace, the general public becomes more aware of his existence
>the public is weirdly enamored with him due to the mystery surrounding his persona
>he even forms a pretty dedicated following, which makes him completely appalled since he believes that his work should not be romanticised or celebrated in any way
>as Arthur, never passes up the opportunity to point out that Crackdown is just a psycho and should not be a role model to anyone
>sadly for him, Lila disagrees and even considers his alter-ego hot, which makes Arthur really, REALLY conflicted
Hey everyone, once again SCP-Anon here.
Just to let everyone know, I could still do the Project, it's just without the idea of a SCP work.
This all could take place on here: https://helixco.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page
Where I will be working on then more of a Original "Content" /OC world then, including Cinemaphile now under this umbrella term thing.
If you are interested in helping me out on this project, that would be cool.
Crazy that those pozzed-up queers can just slap a copyright on shit they stole from /x/.
/x/ is all about ranting about israelites, vaccines, and crisis actors now. It's entirely likely that the people making the fun creepypastas just left for greener pasture between 08 and 16 like most other non idpol posters of...every board.
Granted, but the people "running" the SCP site were not part of that exodus. Certainly they are no less idpol obsessed than the worst elements of this site, and the /x/ of today being shit does not excuse their "woke" counterparts claiming what /x/ produced when it was... well, not good, but better.
I mean if you wanna go talk to the Licensing Captain, you can go ahead, but they told me strictly with authority that I can't show anything with this project relating to SCP.
Also it was the creator of SCP from /x/ who made it a copyright. (Btw can you see the miraheze wiki I made?)
((btw btw, is the comic artist for LL here?))
Quick doodle of nth tutoring crackdown.
NTH is loud and annoying but at least he knows better than public education
He failed high school because he didn’t show up to classes but still manages to ace his tests. His teachers still failed him tho. Might be because he kept dissing the teachers’ class pets or calling for anarchy, who knows
Better a GED(Good Enough Diploma) that will get you to work at a McDonald's or Burger King. Money is money!
I prefer working at a pizza joint.
Regarding Arthur's intelligence:
As a "burned out gifted kid", let alone the one from a long line of scholars, it's rather hard to gauge his capacity for learning since it's difficult to say if him starting to struggle was genuine or entirely a result of motivation loss. He often describes his experience in an american highschool as a "frenzied blur of people he'd rather never meet", so you can imagine that he wasn't applying himself all that hard at the time.
Outside of education system, he seems to have a passing interest in most subjects at best. He doesn't seem to have a field of science that he gravitates the hardest towards, but people who somehow end up in a long-winded conversations of that nature with him often note that there aren't really any topics about which he's absolutely clueless either.
He does have a surprisingly vast knowledge of fine arts, however (he says that "it's in his blood", always in a way that has him sound displeased about the fact), as well as an aptitude for things like visual calculus and interrogation techniques, since his specific line of work at times requires him to be a bit of a detective.
Nice drawing.
I hope I'm not being presumptuous in saying I feel like there's a bit of an autobiographical element to both these characters.
I appreciate you putting it so mildly, but Crackdown isn't supposed to be a self-insert.
A bit of a "literally me" type character?
Definitely, but I was never really shying away from these characters being a major inspiration for me, pic very related.
Yes
Nth is smort just like me
I'm actually dumb lull
Are there room for more /coc/ villains?
Always.
Got a name and thing they do?
>name
always the tough part, needs some time on that one
>thing they do?
Create destructive raves by intoxicating innoncent civilians through their food and drinks which they inject with their venom or by force which results in their brain and bodies getting overstimulated and losing all sense of rationality where the only thing left is partying, anger and destruction which often results in many deaths where the remains is used to feed his growing tadpole army
Fricked up
Dendrobatidae is the fancy term for poison dart frogs.
Dendro and the Seven Trips. One for each color.
Could Ladybug or GG defeat him?
What if Demon Billy could summon crustaceans from hell?
The B-52s wouldn't be around until long after.
The bloos music is actually good to listen to.
>The bloos
"The Blues music" sorry typo.
Billy's music was cooler in the 50s. My opinion though.
How many songs are actually out there that Billy has sung?
I know I came up with (modified already existing songs) two of them.
No clue really but I'm sure it's rocker music.
He usually gets beaten up halfway through the first verse, doesn't he? It's not really clear if his bard skills are up to snuff.
Frankly /coc/ could really use more sound and music guys in general. I like music at all but I'm pretty tone deaf when it comes to composing anything catchy sounding.
I've been considering learning how to compose for some other thing (I even bought a midi keyboard), but picking up a bew skill seems insurmountable at the point.
RIP Jean
WHERE IS EVERYONE!!!
Thinking about drawing GG, don't know what though.
Sleeping in for the 3 day weekend?
Must be nice.
Was summer camp much of a thing during the fifties?
Trying to think of of what GG would get up to in the summer other than just heading to the beach
One more for the road.
