>How does this work?

>It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
>There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

>If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.

I made one up called Plot Armor. Very powerful, everyone is after it.

The whole story involves the Justice Cinemaphilerades vs Sageworthy Society vs Conrad and Newman. Some alien is bringing the Plot Armor to a special sort of distribution center to get it shipped to an unknown entity that has purchased it, so the Justice Cinemaphilemrades watches over it to make sure nothing happens. Well something happens; the Sageworthy Society got word of it and gets into a tussle with the J comrades and steals the item. Btw, the Sageworthy Society got a new villain because IHM fired Samegay (he is now working at Taco Bell). The new villain is some edgy zoomer and he'll be super cringey every time he faces the Justice Cinemaphilemrades. Eventually I'll put Samegay back in after his shift ends.

Depends on the Cinemaphileverse. I think a lot of artists have their own interpretation on what's powerful and what ain't so powerful.

People can decide on a lot of artifacts in the Cinemaphileverse being powerful, but I already have the thought of an item in my story that practically nullifies everything and everyone, and it's been central to my theme of absolutes.

The best way that I can explain it is that it's the rulebook and literal source code of life and death in worldly and otherworldly matters. It is the guide that the universe uses to determine life and death questions and answers. Like a character in a videogame reading the death and spawns scripts, or somebody in a movie reading the script for the film they're in.
Of course, it's not really "just" a book, and it's not really a book that can be "read" either. Surely, looking at its contents in-universe would cause madness and lunacy. Something so beyond the comprehension of a meagre fictional character that to gaze upon its writings is paramount to mental suicide.
Or something like that, I think

Anonymous

That actually works with the concept I came up with for the Editor’s Pen, it being an otherworldly dimensional object that just looks like a normal pen. Depending on how it’s use, you can affect different aspects of reality. For example, using it to draw a circle in the air you could make a hole to escape to another dimension, but it entirely depends on you thinking that, or else it might just make a ball appear and fall or a ring that vanishes into smoke. Some concept applies with words/sentences too.

Anonymous

As I was thinking about it, I imagined The Dyad being the sister book to another titled The Monad, which, while being not present in the actual story, would be just as important. The Monad would be the very truths of reality manifested. Everything that ever has been, ever could be, and ever will be down to the very micro-atom was written in its pages, having a similar but more extreme effect on the reader as The Dyad.
Perhaps these books and The Editor's Pen are connected in some way? That The Editor's Pen is a literal deus ex machina, being a self insert for the desires of the writer at any given moment. Always present but never seen. Logically then, the pen is what wrote these two books, and the pen itself must cause some form of cursed eldritch madness on those who behold it, much like the effects of cosmic truths in our own world.

Anonymous

I would actually argue the opposite. The Editor’s Pen is, on a meta level, based on how the whims of an editor can change a writer’s ideas for better or worse, and you have to deal with the consequences of the change once done. So if the Monad and Dyad are the world building and truths of the world, then the Editor’s Pen (Edict Ors Paan in the olden tongue to follow your theme) I assume would be a gift from beyond to allow the mortals to be able to “change their fate”, show their choices aren’t set in stone, but it’s entirely up to the user on how it’s used,

Anonymous

My only opposition to that idea is that /coc/ stories don't have editors, and nothing in the /coc/ universe has really been affected heavily by any editors. I feel like the idea itself isn't bad, but there would already need to be a meta precedent for it to have any actual weight or meaning in the stories it's used in.
I do like the idea of it being a gift from the author for the characters to choose their own fate, but at the same time, that plot point is always going to be written by the author so it has a sort of twisted "fate is already decided but it's not" kind of vibe. That the characters are themselves both slaves to their writer, and also manifestors of their own destiny. I'm still for making it drive the people who have been gifted its power mad too.

It’s more of a commentary on editors much like the Comics Code is in the Golden Girl stuff. I’m keeping in mind that /coc/ is a toybox so you can create a character and eventually someone might come along and frick it up to the point that they’re unrecognizable, which does happen in main comics. I think it would be a good “nuclear option” to reset or completely change a character and give an inverse reason for such a drastic change. I’m fine with it driving people crazy, I just think users with stronger wills will be less affected by it. But if it created a bunch of COIE Pariahs/Psycho Pirates I think that would be kind of funny.

After I was done writing the Cinemaphilele story another anon was helping me edit. We never finished editing it though.

All good points. I think it makes sense to have The Editor's Pen manifest as a method to manipulate reality and destiny in-universe, as a retroactive rewriting of what perhaps already exists within both The Monad and The Dyad. Like I mentioned, it fits the idea of it being a literal deus ex machina, as an outside force exerts creative force to change the story against what the in-universe books write it as.
Should we really call it Edict Ors Paan, to fit the theme, stick with The Editor's Pen, or change it to something a bit more snappy like Edict Mandatum?

Anonymous

Worth noting that the Fae consider reality to be a big story they call the Grand Narrative, so, there's a thematic connection there too.

I only called it that to fit the theme, but I think over time it earned the colloquial name of “The Editor’s Pen” over its original one, so I’m for using both. Though I will say I really like the name Edict Mandatum over my version.

So it's set in stone then? We have a set of three new Cinemaphilesmic artifacts to put on the wiki, probably on their own page. I can't do it right now but if somebody wants to write it up they're free to.
>The Monad
A book that puts to experience and manifestation all of the factors of reality. It is existence, the heart of its expression.
>The Dyad
A book that puts into experience both life, and death. It is the alpha and the omega, and what determines the cycles of existence.
>(The) Edict Mandatum
A pen that can overwrite the dictations of the twin books, and manifest as both the author's direct will over the story, and be used by characters within the universe to change their own fate and manipulate existence.

wait, it is? It's a fan concept, i tohught it counted. Also thanks

/coc/ is for explicitly original concepts and characters that are written into the public domain, not fan content.

Stargaze is /coc/ as much as anything else like it is. I'd put it in the same category as SuperMoms, BreastQuest, Supocapolypse, etc., so it's fine in these threads I'd say.

>I'd put it in the same category as SuperMoms, BreastQuest, Supocapolypse, etc.
So how much of it would be in the main Cinemaphile verse? If I was so inclined, can I make a story where a character from Stargaze ends up e.g. in the setting of the Pineapple Cake? Would that be an AU, so that other storylines are not disturbed?
Should I come up with a McGuffin that opens portals across dimensions, or maybe I should make something with The Archivist or Hank from the Courier Guild?
It's all hypotetical, because I don't have much time these days, but I still find some time to daydream while I drink my coffee. And I want to make something for these threads in the future, as a form of gratitude.

If you want to get technical, weird AUs still fall under the banner of /coc/. They have since the beginning.

True.
We've been seeing more of them in recent years, which is surprising given how much of downward turn Cinemaphile took some years back.

Another potential artefact I came up with, this time a science one that also pokes fun at some of the tropes (i.e. it's a dumb visual pun):

>T-BUBBLE (short for techno-bubble)
>a computer that looks like a semi-translucent sphere, which is where it got its name for
>it contains an AI of near-infinite computation
>its main function allows it to come up with modifications for other pieces of technology that allow them to circumvent the laws of nature in all sorts of kinda plausible-sounding ways at user's request (for example, it can make a device that combines strong, weak and electromagnetic forces into a Grand Unified Theory force within a certain area)
>the single most thought after piece of tech in the Cinemaphileverse and the mere act of using it is a challenge in an of itself

An interesting idea. It reminds me of the old Xbox 720 stuff from way back in the day. It's like an 8-ball with a super-AI giving you the answers.

Maybe. I can imagine it being vaguely cynical and hateful in general, but programmed beyond its free will to give the answers to the questions it's asked

I already mentioned how using it is a difficult task and this might be the reason why: it can't refuse the user the answer outright, but it might deem your request so moronic that it puts it behind seven layers of riddles and unintuitive interface.
It can teach you how to make a completely chemically inert material, but you'll have to work for it.

Aldo, I want to rename it to "Teta-Bubble", but I'm afraid the pun won't be as obvious.

>It can't refuse the answer outright, but it might deem your request so moronic that it puts it behind seven layers of riddles and unintuitive interface
That's a really good idea. I feel like it could both fit the more Lovecraftian meta style of the other artifacts previously mentioned ITT, as well as add some humorous contrast as it's still just a sardonic butthole AI that fricks with people just because.

That's why I like to assume that the only (human) beings that can use T-BUBBLE to anywhere near it's full potential are people like Springtime and Doctor Science.
Anyone else who's considered a genius, but still fall behind them on the intelligence scale, can maybe once fish out an answer to whatever inquiry they might have before their intelligence gets demeaned and insulted so hard that even the prospect of cheating the laws of reality becomes not worth it.

As /coc/‘a resident Architect, I was was following that thread before it got pruned, and there’s an idea I actually might play around with from it. The idea is you’re typical Superman Expy, but he has a fat fetish
.

I’m looking for help with a good superhero name for NotSuperman, so I’d love to hear suggestions. Since this is /coc/ I’m going to play him completely straight as Supes except for his fetish where he’ll act like Troy McClure when fish are involved.
Also, yes I’ll do something with him and Rebound.

I don't even know what this other thread was, but it must've been something.

I feel like when fetishes are involved, the best way to use them is as a springboard into something else. The fetish is still there, but it's not the main focus.

I’m thinking he’ll probably be a one-off thing where he stops by in a stereotypical superhero team up, but Rebound’s sidekick gets suspicious of his intentions, so she thinks he’s actually a supervillain in disguise. Nope, turns out he’s so shifty because he doesn’t know how to explain that he likes bigger women and didn’t know how to express it. But the punchline is, Rebound thinks it’s sweet but she can’t go out with him because she’s been trying to lose weight and he’s being a bad influence. Crushing his hopes and dreams and leaving him to go back home with his tail between his legs.
Maybe he'll come to appreciate her for the ballooning she can do even if she loses the weight.

Is anything with Stargaze set on Earth? Is it all aliens? There's plenty of times disconnected Cinemaphile settings have crossed over (in concept).

If you want to keep it all up in space then sure, use the Pineapple Cake and other space characters for whatever.
If you want to have it on Earth, maybe Stargaze really is an 80s cartoon and somehow someone brings him to life from a VHS tape.

Anonymous

Earth would be very distant from the setting of Stargaze, because from a marketing pov it's better if children think that Stargaze is "out there", beyond the boring neighborhood of the Local Supercluster.
That said, people from Earth are no strangers in sci-fi fantasy cartoons, and I have in mind a couple of ideas.
>maybe Stargaze really is an 80s cartoon
I friggin' hope this will be the case one day.

Maybe, though I don’t think he’s a good fit for her, like with Supes and WW I don’t think she’d pair well with an alien hero type like Superman. I imagine after the break off he’ll disappear for a bit before finding his own personal NotLois Lane to fulfill his desires with.

You're going to need a strong guy, hacker guy, cracker guy, shooter guy, lookout guy, inside-man guy, and a boss.

A strong guy can have your standard super strength or invulnerability, or he got his muscles the old fashioned way and his power is having a very malleable body. Bullets just sort of get stuck in him like clay, blunt weapons just sink into him. You try punching him? That hand is his now because it's also stuck in him.

Hacking and cracking are two different things. A hacker gets you into systems or finds holes in security to be exploited. A cracker is the guy who actually opens doors by picking locks or guessing combinations by listing to the bolts. So I'd lean into that listening thing. Someone who can "hear" the history of what he's touching and speak to it, maybe coax answers out of it, maybe command it to open with enough insight.

For a shooter, someone inconspicuous. I'd say he has super powered thumbs that let him flick things at people at high speeds. Like coins, paper clips, tacks, anything small enough will work. He's only limited by how much stuff he can old in his hands at any given moment.

A lookout can also be a getaway driver. If you want something stupid then have him turn into the vehicle. Or be a robot. Or just the car itself with an advanced A.I. and a predisposition to running people over. Like in real life.

The thing with an inside man is, you either have to get them in well in advance, or you need them to replace someone who is already in. That takes time, or a special kind of nutcase who can image they're someone else and has the gumption to pull off a believable impersonation right down to how they say their vowels. Maybe if he steals their hat he can do it. Be careful, when the shooting starts he might pull a gun on the gang if he's still too deep in character.

And the boss; the employer, the ringleader, the suit, the mastermind. The person who thought this whole thing up and wants what's inside the big metal and stone box people call buildings.

For the boss, maybe don't show him if he's not part of the crew. He's going to have his own plants in the crew and anyone could turn traitor on the others at any moment if the boss doesn't trust you or just doesn't feel you're worth paying in the end.

On the back burner Ive had a gang of crooks called the Clutch Gang, loosely inspired by the Royal Flush Gang and based on the human hand.
The Ringleader, leader and most supervillain-y, with a series of gimmick rings
Thumb, the strongman
Index, the tech guy
Flip, the daredevil. Maybe “Bird” and he’s an aerialist instead?
And Pinky, the femme fatale and infiltrator.

Or reading the Golden Girl comics (would she see the big boobs if the comic code is no more?).
Don't know, Anon. Depends if you think about Stargaze as a cartoon in the /coc/ setting. I like to think that it's fiction for real life, but there's a Stargaze /coc/ AU where the characters live in the same universe as Ladybug and the other /coc/ characters. Only, it would probably be just part of a multiverse, except if someone makes something so cool (a comic, a story...) that Stargaze becomes a beloved part of the Cinemaphileverse.
Just my two cents, I hope it makes sense.

>Or reading the Golden Girl comics (would she see the big boobs if the comic code is no more?).
I would assume the comics code is more of a literal policy than a metatextual force from the perspective of a reader, like IRL, but… I suppose the question is which is funnier?

It's whatever you want. I don't really want to push Stargaze into these threads, when I said that I'd like to do something with him and /coc/ characters I meant something that's about the Cinemaphileverse first and foremost. Like, yeah there's this guy Stargaze, and maybe a couple of his allies (probably Comet and Robopuppy because less serious characters fit within most settings), but he isn't the protagonist, just the one that starts the plot. As I've already said in another thread, I imagined a climax where Stargaze gives Marley the shard of the Lightstar, that carries infinite energy and infinite good, and she uses it to become Ultrabug (or Golden Ladybug, or Omni Matter Ladybug...), maybe as she understands what it means to be a hero or something.
Because I guess you guys would like something made with /coc/ characters and I'd like to thank you for letting us use these threads as a temporary base when things happened to the Stargaze threads.

I have a question.

So, Diego doesn't know LL's identity irl, but how would he react to seeing NTH and Harlem trying to pressure Marley into drugs (name calling her as a baby, weak, etc), and how does Marley react to pressure anyway?

I'm going to be lenient and say that at this point NTH does know Diego because he's a crime lord (although I'm not sure if he's trying to keep that a secret) and thinks Diego would be fine with him and Harlem pressuring midgets into drugs.

Anonymous

Marley herself would be very vulnerable to peer pressure, I think.

Diego, however, would have none of it. If anyone's familiar with Discworld's Thieves Guild, they're a group that manages criminal activity in the city of Ankh-Morpork by insisting any criminals be licensed with them before carrying out crimes, and dealing harshly with anyone unlicensed or violating their statutes. Diego's mob functions a very similar way- anyone distributing drugs without his say-so, of types he hasn't approved, or to off-limits groups such as children, instantly receive 100% of his attention. He is not quite so jolly in those circumstances. Here's a little preview from Ish 6 demonstrating the lighter end of his approach.

I think an aggressive pusher would get much the same reaction from him. Albeit, without a shield-shell there to turn it into a teachable moment... who knows?

What about people not under his control?

I want to keep Diego as a functional crime lord and not have NTH overstep Diego's boundaries. But NTH would be the kind to think he could do whatever he wants because of how impulsive he is. He's a tech-style criminal who probably gloats about his achievements and undoubtedly sees himself as a victim of hate crime and discrimination (either he truly believes it or sees it as a ruse to get free stuff, who knows).

Diego operates in Los Palos an not much farther so anyone in another county is outside his "jurisdiction." And i could see NTH being the guy who just pushes to see how far he can get away with shit for fun.

Freaky stuff, I know.
But honestly, the cause wasn't anything extraordinary: it was just one of the many ailments that can cut the fragile, illusive thread of human life short.
And while Tamara was able to move on from the damage, she couldn't muster the strength to start seeing other people, hence the ring. She's undoubtedly a strong woman, but everyone has their limits.

Other miscellaneous Tamara factoids:

>tries to goad Arthur into either doing low-level handiwork for her around the apartments or simply standing nearby while she confronts less cooperative tenants about their due rent
>has lots of acquaintances all-over from whom she can call in favors, think stuff like getting a paper from the city hall while completely bypassing the red tape rigamarole
>owes money to most of them
>doesn't have the stomach to ACTUALLY be as draconian as your stereotypical landlord which is, sadly, a part of the reason why she's been "in the red" for a while; Arthur moving in and paying several months in advance actually ended up being a major lucky break for her

> After a fun lesson in advanced combat strategies, Willow and her classmates had some time to kill until the next class begins
>Willow that would be a good time to explore and learn more about her soon-to-be classmates
>Willow had to fight her awkwardness and social anxiety and then she said
>Willow: "So what made you guys want to be heroes?"
> Gwendolyn (with a smile): "Being a hero means freedom. You're not bound by rules that don't make sense. You can make choices that truly matter. It's about embracing who you are and using your abilities to create a better world."
> Aya (yawning): "People trust heroes, you know? They look up to us and believe we can handle anything. It's a big responsibility, though. Sometimes, I wonder if we can live up to those expectations."
> Sailor Norm (nodding): "For me, it wasn't really a choice. The Nauticals took me in when I was a kid. I didn't know much else. But now, I wouldn't have it any other way. We protect the seas, and that's a worthy cause."
> Ronnie (smirking): "Well, well. Heroes, the saviors of the day. Isn't it all just a facade? A bunch of hypocrites, if you ask me."
> Willow (raising an eyebrow): "Hold on, Ronnie. Heroes are not perfect, but that doesn't make them useless or hypocrites. They're doing their best to make a difference."
> Ronnie (sarcastically): "Oh, really? The Nexus ideology is spreading like wildfire among heroes. Discrimination masked as heroism. Isn't that ironic?"
> Willow (defensively): "The hero world is complex, Ronnie. Not everyone is part of the Nexus, and many heroes fight against such ideologies. It's not fair to generalize."

> Willow (passionate): "We can improve, Ronnie, but calling all heroes hypocrites is unfair. We're here to make a positive impact. Let's focus on that."
> The debate between Willow and Ronnie becomes heated, each defending their perspective with strong arguments. The others watch, some amused, some thoughtful. As the tension rises, Willow takes a deep breath.
> Willow (calmly): "Let's agree to disagree. We have different views, but we're all here to make a difference, right?"
> Ronnie (nodding): "Fair enough."
> They shake hands, and the tension dissipates. Gwendolyn, Aya, and Sailor Norm burst into laughter at the unexpected turn of events.
> Sailor Norm (chuckling): "Well, that was a show. Are all hero debates this intense?"
> The bell rings, signaling the start of the next class.
>Ronnie looked at Willow with a fascinated look and realized that she might not be just another pawn in his "Greater Plan" and he thought that she might be another interesting player in the game of heroism
>Ronnie(thinking to himself):" It seems this Beaver girl isn't as naif as I thought after all ha"
>The classroom door opens, and a woman with long black hair and a dinosaur-like tail enters.
>Mrs. Kaija (grinning): "Hello, future heroes! I'm Mrs. Kaija, your superpowers improvement teacher. Get ready for a class that will take your abilities to the next level!"

Will there be romance between Willow and Ronnie?
Good job anyway. I'd like to see more tension and higher stakes, but admittedly I don't really remember the details of the previous episodes. I think I remember that Ronnie (or someone else) is an agent of the Nexus inside the school, but I don't remember his plan or how it affects Willow.

>Will there be romance between Willow and Ronnie?
not for now but they will have a rivalry between both of them
>I think I remember that Ronnie (or someone else) is an agent of the Nexus inside the school, but I don't remember his plan or how it affects Willow.
no like

I don't think the Nexus pawn inside the school has been revealed yet.

i didn't travel the nexus pawn yet plus Ronnie is against their ideology and admitted that he finds it stupid ,as for his plan i was just teasing the reader and maybe adding a sense of suspense because i didn't reveal his plan yet

also to recap what happened in the past greentext (before the Christmas special) :
> The students are introduced to Mr. Ken Coleman, the advanced combat strategies teacher known as the GameForger. Mr. Coleman welcomes the students and emphasizes the importance of strategies in combat. He showcases various heroes in action and explains that combat is not just about punches and kicks, but also about outthinking your opponent, predicting their moves, exploiting their weaknesses, and having a few tricks up your sleeve. Despite the weight of the conversation moments ago, the class finds themselves drawn into the engaging lesson.

Ronnie reminds me of something. Some quote that goes something like "If you give a child god-like power they'll try to destroy the world and make it the way they want" or something like that.

well i wanted to do this new thing called "Dynamo League smalls", a separate small light-hearted Greentexts about random things in the world of Dynamo League Greentexts

i will start with:
>Dynamo League smalls: Liza's random Transformations

>it was the Cleanup Day in the Filberts' house, Joe and Willow started cleaning their house
>Willow(Excited):" I love Cleanup Day! it helps me try new ways to make the house cleaner and better"
>Joe:"True that! now let's start with the Kitchen!"
>Liza who was watching them talking asked them if she could join them and help
>Liza:"This looks challenging and kinda thrilling, can i join this quest with you?"
>Joe:"Sure! come on! you can start with the living room , there's a lot of dust there"
>Liza(excited):"Okay! let's do this!"
>Liza took a brush and went to the living room and started brushing.
> She brushed on every side and got some dust on her nose which made her sneeze
> Despite her appearance Liza sneezed like a little girl which made Joe chuckle a little
>Liza:"i heard that!"
>Joe went to her and then busted out laughing
>Liza raised an eyebrow
>Liza:"Was the matter?is my sneeze this funny?"
>Joe:"No no it's just that your ears transformed into their Coyote form"
>Willow came and looked at Liza and tried her best not to laugh
>Willow (suppressing laughter): "Uh, Liza, your ears are, um, a bit pointy now."
>Liza (feeling her ears): "What? Again?"
>Joe (still laughing): "Yeah, it happens. It's kind of random. Don't worry; it'll go back to normal."
>Willow couldn't hold it any longer and burst into laughter. Liza, with her now-coyote-like ears, crossed her arms, trying to look annoyed but failing as a grin crept onto her face.
>Willow (laughing): "It's just too cute, Liza. Like a little coyote!"

>Liza (rolling her eyes): "Well, great. I'm a cleaning coyote now."
>As they continued cleaning, Joe couldn't stop chuckling every time he glanced at Liza's adorable, slightly furry ears. Willow joined in, and soon the trio was having a laugh-filled cleaning spree.
>Suddenly, Joe let out a brash sneeze. Liza and Willow turned to him, surprised.
>Joe (rubbing his nose): "Whoa, that was unexpected."
>Willow (grinning): "You know what they say, karma hits hard."
>Joe (defensive): "It's just a sneeze!"
>Liza (mocking): "A sneeze that made you stumble and almost fall. Smooth, Joe."
>Trying to maintain his dignity, Joe straightened up but miscalculated, tripped on a cleaning rag, and tumbled backward.
>Liza burst into laughter.
>Liza (teasing): "Smooth indeed, Mr. Graceful."
>Joe (from the floor): "Okay, okay, laugh it out. But let's get back to cleaning. We're a team, remember?"
>Willow and Liza exchanged amused glances and helped Joe up. The trio continued cleaning, occasional laughter echoing through the house.

Going mad with power often starts with "I can do things better than they've been done before!" and all the devastation that follows is proof that you really ought to build from the knowledge of history.

Depends on the context. For a comedy scenario, or something like a villain trying to debilitate her coordination by making her body unwieldy, the more dramatic change makes sense. The left is more plausible for simple "what if puberty hit" or "what if she got her dream body" scenarios. Unless she really did grow up reading Golden Girl, then maybe her idea of dream body is quite extraordinary/
