    >How does this work?

    >It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
    >There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

    >If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
    >If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

If the thread dies suddenly or you still want to discuss something when there's no thread:

-Cinemaphile has been fricking up images using cloudflare compression for like 8 months and that's why archive searches for images are fricked. Save from tbharchive which saves the original version or open the pic you want to save in a new tab and add ?anythingatall after the file extension to get the original non-altered image. Presumably this is how it works anyway. Frick's sake.

Update on the next issue of Percinnius' comic. I couldn't decide between which "step" of the story I wanted to portray so the next issue isn't actually an issue at all. I planned for it to be effectively an extended intermission scene between Percinnius escaping The Adversary and his entrance into The Glittering Gallery
I don't want to spoil anything major but I know a guy who wants to help out and make it a video. It's gonna be amateurish as shit of course but how else are you supposed to start?
To get this thread started out I'm gonna ask a question; what sorts of hijinks do you think Earth-centric characters like Ladybug or Mighty Mantis would get up to in the Demon Planes?

      Anonymous

      Ambitious. Should be interesting.

Mighty Mantis would likely get embroiled in demon politics. Lovely Ladybug might go down the sword and sorcery route, especially if there are cards involved. Demons probably invented magic cards.

I can't help but envision this scenario would result in an insectile equivalent of the Hellbat suit.

      >Ladybug
I think you could make a good survival horror type affair there with the fact that there's probably not any good way to recharge the suit. Every percent that it ticks down is one she's not easily getting back. Gotta sneaking mission her way to one of the color domains and try to find a way back before she's left exposed!

Freeglass explored a saucier take on the concept once, I think some pics actually made it to his blog, though not labeled as Ladybug related

Playing around with using 3D assets, I know frickall about motorcycles so this one is probably wildly inappropriate.

Audrey's a motorhead right? What kind of bike would she like to tinker with? I had this idea that she had inherited a WWII motorbike from Great Glory I that she refurbished and tricked out in her Bullion era. So when GGI disappeared and everyone else forgot about her, Audrey knew she wasn't losing her marbles because she still had the bike!

She does have a motorcycle in the Bullion scripts, though it's not mentioned where she got it. (And honestly, I'm too lazy to revise the edits to tie the two together.)

For Bullion the motorcycle I imagined while writing those scripts was one with a curved windshield, a MV Agusta 500 4C or a Honda RC166. Anything with that oblong windshield really since I feel it fits the 60s "expecting the future to look sleek" aesthetic.

When she's still Golden Girl then yeah, any hand-me-down bike would work. She's probably gush over the bullet holes and dings in it when she first gets it, wondering what stories the bike could tell her.

That's kind of the joke, I mean that would be funny if Silver Queen bought her one only for her to be very unbalanced with it. She would rather be on the sidecar for now.

Silver Queen's Silver Bullet is a souped up Harley-Davidson WLA (America's WW2 era motorcycle, known as "The Liberator"), with a sidecar.
Golden Girl would probably just ride around in the sidecar but for her first bike it'd probably be another Harley, either a Hummer or maybe something like a KR since that's more of a track racing model. I can't imagine Sarah buying anything but American.
Bullion would probably keep that same bike for sake of continuity.
Golden Guardian? Early years would be a Harley-Davidson XR-750, same bike as used by Evel Knievel. Later on or if you wanna go for aesthetic, a sport motorcycle that's slick and flashy looking and probably Japanese, like a Kawasaki Ninja.

I'm not SLA, but I will throw out there that Shredder was part of the looks original inspiration.

Since the whole suit is an illusion, it wouldn't need to be practical. However, since it's Aoko making the illusion, she probably wants it to look as probable as it can. Then we get another layer down and have to question how much she knows about what this sort of person should look like and compare it to what this sort of person would really look like.
It's possible she's even basing the look off of things she's seen in movies or read in books. Does her family have old scrolls that show how the costume used to look on her grandfather and further back ancestors?

That's not really answering your question, that's just how my mind works with trying to get into the head of a character.

's post where we'll have a hood, cape, and a few pieces of armor. We can also incorporate a circle for the moon aesthetic like what

I think that works better, yeah. The board shoulders make it so shots fired at her will likely hit the illusion and not her underneath it.
If you really want to place a moon, a circle works fine as a belt buckle, or even as a throwing weapon in place of shuriken.

Thanks for the update anon, I really like the moon phases thing with the design and the "overcoat" that BM has in lieu of a cape. I think smoke/fog can work for the male version of BM, but once Aoko assumes the identity and dresses herself up as BM instead of using a projection she'll start using will-o-the-wisps.

                >spoiler
That could work for Aoko as well. There was this image shared before about her actual costume I think? https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/135493348/#q135511808

However, I think we're straying further away from the ninja theme of BM. Let's wait for some other anons with their opinions.

My bad, I was thinking about samurais for some reason. I can work with that.

A coat instead of a cape, I didn't think about that. It could work, but a coat over full armor feels awkward, unless it's a war room situation.
Given that Blue Moon is a ninja, I think mobility should be prioritized in the costume, even if it is just an illusion being projected by her.

                [...]
That pic is more like a knight than a ninja I think.

I agree that she will use fog or wisps after she starts wearing a costume for real.

                >unless it's a war room situation.
Yes, this. This is a special coat worn by the headman. The idea was that he would wear it to cover his armor in normal situations and take it off during combat.

A coat instead of a cape, I didn't think about that. It could work, but a coat over full armor feels awkward, unless it's a war room situation.
Given that Blue Moon is a ninja, I think mobility should be prioritized in the costume, even if it is just an illusion being projected by her.

That pic is more like a knight than a ninja I think.

I agree that she will use fog or wisps after she starts wearing a costume for real.

Still working, but settled on traditional armor. I think that will-o-the-wisps or smoke/fog will add mystery https://files.catbox.moe/uf1i0p.png Do you have any comments or maybe this idea is not suitable and it’s better to try something else?
And I just decided to share with this https://files.catbox.moe/4gigla.jpg, because it's a real women's armor with frills on the shoulders.

Meh, nothing good comes to mind. Your option with the cape is a good balance. A few sketches if you want to see the process https://files.catbox.moe/7tybwz.png

I like the first and second ones on the top row and the first and last ones on the bottom row. Those ones feel the most "ninja" to me. The others feel more like a monk.

I think that works better, yeah. The board shoulders make it so shots fired at her will likely hit the illusion and not her underneath it.
If you really want to place a moon, a circle works fine as a belt buckle, or even as a throwing weapon in place of shuriken.

For Arthur, it's practically the same thing as with comedy: a good 90% of it fails to elicit any kind of vocal reaction.
This is both because of him being moderately emotionally unresponsive and because he usually gets his adrenaline pumping by putting his actual life on the line.
If he was invited to a scary movie night with Lila and whoever else, he'd sit with a neutral (not really bored, but definitely not excited either) expression throughout the entire runtime. Despite that, he'd hum up his reaction if anyone asked his thoughts on the movie after it ended as to not seem like a killjoy.
He's also more afraid of fairies than serial killers, which would probably be a factor.

I can't make the 7th finishing move bump, so let me ask something.
What do you think are the ingredients to pull a supreme Deus ex Machina asspull the right way into a story?
I'm sorry if the following are anime examples, but Giga Drill Breaker and US od Smash come to mind. As far as cartoons go, I suppose Blue Anne from Amphibia can qualify. Probably.
Or even Scrooge demolishing Soapy's boat with his bare hands in The Life and Time of Scrooge McDuck. Hope this wasn't a spoiler for anyone.
I don't know, I'm confused and the thread is on page 10.
Can I hear some opinions? I would be very grateful.

      Anonymous

The right way? Use any amount of foreshadowing to hint that the asspull is coming.
If you do that then it's no longer an asspull, it was planned all along and the insult changes from asspull to poorly executed.

        Anonymous

Yes, but you need the right foreshadowing. Something that's so imperceptible that the audience doesn't realize until the moment you use it. Or maybe I'm overthinking things.
The best one I can remember right now is in One Piece, Luffy vs Enel, where Luffy is immune to lightnings because he's made of rubber.
Maybe I should read One Piece again.

          >if you had to give a /coc/ character a temporary super boost of power, who would you chose?
          Crackdown.
I've been thinking about it for a while now and for him it'd basically be like his own version of Unraveling from Darkhold. Like he wouldn't even need physical contact to make things more brittle, shit would just start falling apart all around him for seemingly no reason. Arthur's powers have always been somewhat existentially uncomfortable to ponder and this would basically lean into that aspect of his powers.
          >memento homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverteris

          >Anyway, these are my two cents.
Thank you, these were more like a thousand dollars than two cents. I'm really grateful.

Alright, I have an example. You ever read Mistborn? That one has a magic system that has a lot of clearly defined rules, however the known rules are actually incomplete, censored by the empire and also unknown due to scientific stagnation.
Once the main character discovers there are more magics than the known ones, she begins experimenting to find them and eventually lands on one of them that gives her a huge power up. She discovered it simply by taking what was known and logically deducing that this magic must exist since for every push there is a pull.

Another example, way later on in the series when different magic systems begin mixing from other series. One such character from another series, code named Moonlight, is an expert at Soul Stamps, a magic that lets her rewrite the history of things stamped within plausible conceivably. Like stamping a wall and rewriting it's history so that the architects included a door there, that pushes the boundaries of what is plausible so the door only exists for a few seconds, plenty of time to get through it though. Soul Stamps also work on people, they are impossibly complex and she spent an entire novella creating just one of those. In a later book she's made one that can rewrite her own history so that she has access to an impossibly OP magic system, but at the cost of her memories and personality being replaced by this new self. This only works because her organization also had the magic needed to facilitate the transformation after using the stamp.

Point is, you can foreshadow the shit out of a powerup and still have it come out of left field when it works.

            Anonymous

This lies in the foreshadowing category imho. I think it works out to an extent, but thank you for the examples. I never read Mistborn tho', I just watched a lot of its author's videos.

I've never thought that far. Almost everyone I draw don't even have powers or are very low key because interactions are more important than one upping each other.

Dynamics will change if this or that character is more powerful and friendships will probably be ruined.

In my opinion, it seems like a mix of overall plot and character writing.

For the former: such powerups provide a catharsis for the reader when you push your character to their absolute limits. As the name suggests, it's a literal miracle; something that shouldn't be happening normally. A reward for struggling and persevering in the face of a threat unlike anything they've ever experienced up to this point. An act of divine intervention. Therefore, stakes should be appropriate. You have to make it ABUNDANTLY clear that this is happening only because shit is *that* real right now. Hell, if you play your cards right with this the readers won't even care how egregious your aspull is. (GER in Golden Wind).

As for the latter: you have to show what something like this happening actually means for the character as a person. It shouldn't be like leveling up in an RPG mid-fight where some arbitrary number goes up, something like this is supposed to *affect* on a deeper level, shake a character to their core. This is why DBZ-like rage power-ups are so popular: a breakthrough in a very stressful situation is both easy to portray and genuinely effective. There are other routes to take, like a silly character becoming deadly serious (or even sillier, in case of Gear 5), it all comes down to what kind of character it is. It shouldn't even necessarily be some kind of drastic attitude change. Sometimes you just have to showcase that this powerup means that a character crossed a proverbial rubicon of sorts somewhere deep inside (United States of Smash). You just have to create a visceral feeling of "before" and "after". A clear contrast.

Anyway, these are my two cents.

I'd say you want either foreshadowing, as previously mentioned, or the establishment of a pattern. Everyone knows Goku will achieve some new form to beat the bad guy, so even if it's not heavily foreshadowed you can get away with it as long as it's cool.

        >the establishment of a pattern
Yeah, this is a big one.
        >you can get away with it as long as it's cool.
This one too, but it's a weak leg to stand on. I think coolness is defined by all the other suggestions mentioned until now.

Presumably, any aurified individuals would be subject to the issue of ownership, particularly if it were possible for them to be restored to living form, so they wouldn't affect the market much.
As with artificial diamonds, the source of the gold may affect the value.

Gold is valuable for a lot of reasons, but it remains valuable now because it's so damn useful for electronics. It's way more conductive than copper. If gold were common, we'd be using it for all kinds of things because it's a soft metal that doesn't rust or otherwise oxidize.

    >Dynamo League: A Renaissance VI

    >As the morning sun cast its golden rays through the window, James stirred from his slumber. He yawned and stretched, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he rose from the bed.
    >James: "Time to make breakfast for me and Saint Neal."
    >With a sense of determination, James made his way to the kitchen, eager to start the day off right. He hummed a tune as he gathered ingredients, his mind focused on the task at hand.
    >But as he cooked, James became lost in thought, his mind drifting to the events of the previous night. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the air, the uncertainty of their situation weighing heavily on his mind.
    >James (to himself): "I hope Saint Neal finds what he's looking for... We can't afford to let our guard down."
    >Lost in thought, James failed to notice the smell of burning food until it was too late.
    >James (frantically): "Oh no, oh no! I burned the eggs!"
    >He cursed under his breath as he hastily removed the charred remains from the stove, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
    >James: "Well, that's breakfast ruined. Guess I'll have to go buy something instead."
    >The smoke alarm went off, adding to the chaos as James rushed to turn off the stove. He opened the windows to let the smoke out, feeling embarrassed by his cooking mishap.
    >James (sighing): "Well, looks like it's a burnt toast kind of morning..."
With a defeated sigh, James decided to head to the supermarket to buy something for breakfast instead. As he was about to leave, Saint Neal called out to him.
    >Saint Neal: "James, wait! When you're at the supermarket, can you get me L'Arancia© orange juice? It's the one I used to like as a kid, I'm not sure if they still have it."
    >James nodded, making a mental note of Saint Neal's request. He grabbed his wallet and keys before heading out, leaving Saint Neal alone in the apartment.

      >Meanwhile, Saint Neal sat in silence, his mind racing with thoughts of their mission. He knew they were getting closer to uncovering the truth behind his mysterious escape, but he couldn't shake the feeling of unease.
      >Saint Neal (to himself): "Who could have betrayed me? Who could have helped me escape?"
      >he then realized that he wasted a lot of time thinking about who helped him escape and that it was now time to think and plan for the future of irregulars and The Nexus.
      >Saint Neal: "Well frick it, the past has passed and now let's focus on the present and the future"
      >Lost in his thoughts, Saint Neal suddenly heard a faint noise coming from the door. His heart skipped a beat as he instinctively reached for a knife, ready to defend himself.
      >Saint Neal (whispering to himself): "Someone's at the door... I must be cautious."
      >He tiptoed towards the door, his senses on high alert. Peeking through the peephole, he saw a figure standing outside.
      >It was Pharoh and Bloodhound, the two vigilantes who had paid James and him a visit the previous night. Saint Neal's heart raced as he realized they must have returned, likely with a warrant to search the apartment.
      >Saint Neal (whispering to himself): "Damn it, they're back..."
      >He quickly retreated to the safety of the closet, hiding himself from view. >His mind raced with thoughts of what could happen if they were discovered. He knew he had to stay hidden until they left.
      >Outside, Pharoh and Bloodhound knocked on the door, calling out James's name. When they received no response, they exchanged glances and decided to come back later.

        >Pharoh: "Looks like he's not home. Let's try again later."
        >Bloodhound nodded in agreement, and the two vigilantes left the premises, leaving Saint Neal alone once more.
        >With a sigh of relief, Saint Neal emerged from the closet, his heart still pounding in his chest. He knew they couldn't stay in the apartment much longer. It was only a matter of time before they were discovered.
        >Saint Neal (to himself): "We need to get out of here... Find a new place to lay low."
        >As he pondered their next move, Saint Neal's gaze fell upon the framed photo of him and James on the wall. Despite their differences, James had proven himself to be a loyal ally, someone Saint Neal could trust.
        >Saint Neal (nodding to himself): "I'll take James with me... He'll make a good cover."
        >Determined to keep James safe, Saint Neal began to pack their belongings, readying themselves for their departure to another city. He knew they couldn't stay in Duckworth any longer. Too many eyes were on them, too many dangers lurking in the shadows.

          >As he finished packing, Saint Neal's thoughts turned to his other sibling, Emily. He wondered if she was safe if she had found what she was looking for. But he knew he couldn't worry about her now. Their own safety was at stake.
          >Saint Neal (to himself): "I'll find Emily later... Right now, James and I need to disappear."
          >With a final glance around the apartment, Saint Neal grabbed his bag and headed toward the door. But before he could leave, he realized he was thirsty and decided to grab a glass of water from the kitchen.
          >As he turned on the faucet, he heard the sound of the doorknob being turned. His heart skipped a beat as he realized that James had forgotten to lock the door.
          >Before he could react, the door burst open, revealing Pharoh and Bloodhound standing in the doorway.
          >The silence in the apartment was palpable, a heavy tension hanging in the air like a suffocating blanket. Saint Neal stood frozen in the kitchen, his hand gripping the glass of water so tightly that his knuckles turned white. His mind raced with a flurry of thoughts and emotions, each one competing for dominance.

Formaldehyde came up with Indra Thunder and his crew. He worked on one of the attempted Motion reboots, and worked with me on a Skathi script, as well as a demon themed thing, though ultimately those didn't come to fruition. I think his Skathi is probably the most definitive. He hasn't been online in some time, hopefully he's okay.

Both are certainly canon compatible, I like to think she has a taut tummy from holding up her lower body weight while jetpacking, and I plan to have her get more definition and put some more curvature on her hips when she starts properly working out.

Isn't being extremely physically weak and unable to fight crime without her costume generator a huge part of her character?

Yep! The fitness regimen would be aimed at improving her stamina and overall vigor. She'll never be capable of brawling directly with an average-sized mook without some kind of gear. Cool tech and quick thinking should always be her avenue to success.

Since she has an official mission to observe Silver Queen, there's likely some kind of support network in place for her. I don't know if it would cover her lodgings, but she likely has someplace on-the-books to stay to maintain cover. Likely an apartment or a house in the more slum-ish parts of the city that she fixed up herself.

Maybe both Audrey and Katya do volunteer work fixing up those parts of the city?

But Saint Neal was no stranger to combat, his years spent in prison honing his fighting skills to perfection. With lightning-fast reflexes, he countered Pharoh's blows, each strike landing with calculated precision.
      >Bloodhound, meanwhile, circled around Saint Neal, his eyes narrowed in concentration as he lined up his shot. He raised his weapon, aiming directly at Saint Neal's shoulder, his finger tightening on the trigger.
      >In that split second, Saint Neal's instincts kicked in, his body moving on pure instinct as he lunged forward, narrowly avoiding the bullet. Pain exploded in his shoulder as the bullet grazed him, but he gritted his teeth and pressed on, refusing to let it slow him down.
      >Saint Nea(thinking to himself)l: "That bastard shot me! But I still have enough water in my body to superheat my hand"
      >With a swift motion, Saint Neal seized Pharoh's metal mask, his hands glowing with intense heat as he superheated the metal. Pharaoh cried out in pain as the scalding metal burned his flesh, his mask becoming a weapon turned against him.
      >Seizing the opportunity, Saint Neal hurled the molten mask at Bloodhound, the searing metal slicing through the air with deadly accuracy. Bloodhound barely had time to react as the mask collided with his chest, sending him staggering backward with a cry of pain.

        >Saint Neal: "I told both of you that you can't defeat me"
        >The room fell silent for a moment as Pharoh and Bloodhound regrouped, their expressions a mix of pain and fury. But before they could launch another attack, the door burst open, revealing James standing in the doorway, a shocked look in his eyes.
        > James (shaking): "What happened here?!"
        >He looked at Saint Neal and found him injured and engaged in a fierce battle with Pharoh and Bloodhound. James's heart pounded in his chest as he took in the chaotic scene before him, the sounds of struggle and pain filling the air.
        >Pharoh and Bloodhound turned their attention to James, their eyes narrowing with determination. Bloodhound's hand tightened around his weapon, aiming it at James.
        >Bloodhound: "You, James! Stay out of this! This is between us and Saint Neal!"
        >But James couldn't stand by and watch. He had seen enough violence and bloodshed in his life, and he refused to let it continue. With a trembling hand, he reached for the fallen handgun at his feet, his fingers wrapping around the grip.
        >James (voice shaking): "I... I can't let you hurt our people anymore."
        >Pharoh and Bloodhound exchanged a glance, a mixture of surprise and disbelief crossing their faces. They had underestimated James, seeing him as nothing more than a bystander. But now, they realized he was a threat.
        >Bloodhound: "Put down the gun, James. You don't want to do this."
        >But James's resolve hardened, his grip on the handgun steady despite his trembling hands.
        >James (voice determined): "I have to. For Saint Neal."

          >With that, James raised the handgun, aiming it at Bloodhound and pulling the trigger. The gunshot rang out in the small apartment, the sound echoing off the walls. Bloodhound's eyes widened in shock as the bullet struck him in the chest, sending him staggering backward.
          >Bloodhound (gasping): "No... how...?"
          >Blood pooled beneath him as he collapsed to the ground, his body growing still. James stood there, his chest heaving with emotion, tears streaming down his cheeks.
          >James (whispering): "I'm sorry... I had to..."
          >Pharoh's eyes burned with fury as he watched his comrade fall. With a roar of anger, he charged at James, his fists swinging wildly. But James was prepared. With a steady hand, he aimed the handgun once more and fired, the bullet striking Pharoh in the chest.
          >Pharoh stumbled, his movements slowing as he collapsed to the ground beside Bloodhound. The room fell silent, the only sound the labored breaths of the fallen vigilantes.
          >Saint Neal stood there, his eyes wide with shock and awe at James's actions. He had never expected James to take such decisive and deadly action, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in the young man.
          >Saint Neal (impressed): "James... you... you did it."
          >James lowered the handgun, his hands shaking as he stared at the fallen vigilantes. He felt a mix of horror and disbelief at what he had done, but deep down, he knew it was necessary to protect himself and Saint Neal.
          >James (voice trembling): "I... I had to stop them. They were going to hurt you."
          >Saint Neal nodded, understanding and gratitude shining in his eyes.

            >Saint Neal: "You saved us, James. You have a strength within you that I never knew existed."
            >But their moment of relief was short-lived. Saint Neal's gaze fell upon the fallen vigilantes, realizing that they had likely sent out an SOS signal before the battle began.
            >Saint Neal (urgent): "We need to go, now. They'll send reinforcements."
            >With a sense of urgency, Saint Neal grabbed James's arm, pulling him toward the door. But before they could reach safety, a blinding light filled the room, and a portal opened behind Saint Neal and under James.
            >Saint Neal (realizing): "No...Oh frick they've found us..."
            >With a burst of energy, Saint Neal and James were sucked into the swirling vortex of the portal, disappearing from the apartment in a flash of light.
            >The apartment fell silent once more, the only evidence of the fierce battle that had taken place was the fallen bodies of Pharoh and Bloodhound. Outside, the city bustled with life, unaware of the chaos that had unfolded within its walls. And somewhere in the depths of the unknown, Saint Neal and James found themselves transported to a new and uncertain destination, their journey far from over.

So the portal person has a plan, and that plan involved getting James and Neil together.
Portal person probably also tipped off Bloodhound and Pharaoh to force this conflict.

                >and that plan involved getting James and Neil together.
Not really, they just wanted to see how Neal would do/react (is he going to kill a possible ally? Is he going to run away?)
                >Portal person probably also tipped off Bloodhound and Pharaoh to force this conflict.
oh no, the reason they came back is that they had orders to search a potential Nexus (James) and the Portal person knew that Neal and James can't just fight a whole squad of vigilantes and even small superheroes so they opened a portal and once again want to see how this will go For Neal and James.

Basically, Portal Person is Not an ally nor an enemy of Saint Neal, they are just monitoring and "regulating" the situation.

Since this hasn’t been discussed in a little while, how do you all feel about that alternate Shark Lass origin story idea pitched a while back where she was kidnapped and modified by an organization similar to SHOCKER before being mindwiped and sent back because the brainwashing failed to make her loyal to the organization?
Only bringing it up because it could give us a cool Shark Lass vs her creators story

I think it's better if she's her own villain. If she can make walking sharks then she could've modified herself.

Maybe she can crash with a local crook, like a certain other Russian agent.

She doesn't need to have too many parallels with Recluse.
And crashing with a villain would ruin her cover story.

That’s fair enough. I just thought it would be interesting to play with her origin being muddy in her own memory since the wiki leaves her origins ambiguous.
Maybe the two could be combined with her being a member of the organization who modified herself and created several Kaijin only to end up mindwiped after an unsuccessful attempt at a shark fueled mutiny against the commander

There could be something for it. Her having a confused origin is even flavorful on a meta level, considering how quickly Mandingo revised the initial version.

I'm not sure its ever been established she DID make Chomps, he's just always kind of there. Shark Lass gives off the impression of not being too bright.

That’s true, given Shark Lass’s behavior she always struck me as someone who was turned into what she is, especially since she got into college prior.

The wiki gives "Marina" or "Amy" as options for her real name. She could be one of Professor Manticore's more aesthetic sea mutants, escaped and making her own way in the world, but it might be that people would prefer not to tie her in with other characters.

That’s fair. Personally I’d rather she wasn’t tied to any of the other Cinemaphileverse villains who exist prior as that feels like an unnecessary shackle.
The Organization that created her could be a Shark Lass exclusive antagonist

Refresh me on how that all went down.

So just to understand then, if marley were to train for the Justice Cinemaphile, do we expect a temporarily training suit for her? Maybe something with weights, like what GOKU in DBZ did but more tech like?

I thought of a new suit but nah, also just realized marley would die if the training suit used gravity weights against her. She'd snap like a stick lmao.

Also thinking on gadgets/new abilities. Shock arm, possibly an extending hand/grapplers glove hand

She’d probably do more conventional training. Goku needs special gear because he can lift pickup trucks, Marley is definitely not in that range unaided.

                Anonymous

Hm, well I expect marley would do training, conventional but also some unique. Tech Training counts, probably at least having Lila help with some robot hands or something.

I can see her training to fight a cool training bot or trying to push back on some sort of weight machine. Same time she's deconstructing and reconstruting her mental fort of knowledge and her technology.

God damn the coalition arc and training arc is gonna be god damn devastating on the unfortunate villains.

Sorry I abridged the idea which never really got to its full potential. Basically the pin given to Marley was designed to turn her into an overprotective bodyguard which could easily escalate to locking Lila in her room for her own safety and fighting anyone who tries to rescue her

I mean, you asked about the pin storyline here. That’s less about physical torment and more about emotional manipulation and gaslighting as the device’s manipulate people to think they’re going crazy or feel emotional pain/happiness when doing certain things

If you want to make someone suffer then, I dunno, do it to Arthur or something, he's pretty much a local suffering magnet.

Well, with the main comic, the intent is to have things get more serious at the end of the major "acts," causing changes in the status quo. The "road trip" to join the Justice Coalition is spurred by an encounter with the shadowy badguys who kidnapped Brian, which goes badly for Ladybug. Act 2 into Act 3 has something on a similar order. We'll see if we ever get there.

At first I thought it would be funny if Lila found Arthur's alter-ego attractive because of the "danger factor", but now (considering Lila's view of superheroes as a whole) I feel like it would be the opposite, since that's how these things usually go.

        >Lila thinks that Crackdown is a dangerous individual who simply acts out his violent tendencies on criminals, completely unaware that each of his incursions is set to undermine entire criminal empires on a much wider scale
        >Arthur thinks that Knightingale is nothing more than a mercenary on Carver Medical's payroll which is sent whenever shady corpos don't get thier way; an opinion that mostly stems out of his distrust for the rich that he adopted from his childhood

I didn't watch much of that other "ladybug-themed superhero" property, but I remeber it playing with this whole "X feels one way about Y, but in a completely opposite way about Z (Y's alter-ego)" in some pretty fun ways.

Marketability is also a factor for the Justice Coalition since they get their funding through merch and royalties.
Jack probably wouldn't have a problem going through the JC hero bootcamp, but I always felt he'd need to pull off something big before they take note of him because of how subtle his powers are.

Sorry I just thought about what it be like to be a Russian spy disguised as an American girl. Dose she live in a normal house or bunker? And dose she plan attacks in the city with a spy party? Dose she have a fake job? I wonder how spys or average Russian civilians we're like working on a job even though it goes against their communist morals. There just thoughts but I still like to question IG's lifestyle but for fun.

Why would the Russians have a bunker on American soil for their spy? That's too conspicuous. She's actually going off script as Iron Girl, her role wasn't to engage, but to observe. GG just gets under her skin so much that she felt compelled to antagonize her. Her cover is high school girl, so she doesn't need a fake job. All she needs for her role is just to be in Platinum City to observe Silver Queen.

I always thought she lived with her actual grandma that works for the KGB as Spies.

She was given to the KGB as a baby. She has no blood relatives and thinks of the state as her family. It's sort of a form of brainwashing/conditioning on their part.

Like I said, their just thoughts. I get she's a cartoonish villain in a 50s comic for kids. I just wonder where she hides every time she fails doing IG shenanigans.

Do you think IG has to hide from her superiors that she is doing the Iron Girl thing?

          >"Mission report, today I saw some brave mysterious unknown superhero of the people had interrupted the county fair's pie competition, rightly proclaiming how much more deserving borscht should be as a celebrated foodstuff. Why she surely would have convinced them if it weren't for her suddenly being pelted by a multitude of the pervasive pastries and forced to retreat. Why even I, who was some distance away was not safe from the mixed berry massacre. Which is why I have blueberries in my hair. But Russia should be proud to have inspired such a great hero who in no way know who she is"

Well since the thread got bumped anyway.

They probably know, they just don't care or she explain to them that this is the easiest way to get up close with Silver Queen.

          >So the portal person has a plan,
yes they have a plan in mind
          >and that plan involved getting James and Neil together.

So the portal person also has peep hole portals to see and hear what's going on at all times to know when to do this?

            >also has peep hole portals to see and hear what's going on at all times to know when to do this?
well let's just say they have their own way to know

and since i don't think that I will be able to write another Greentext before the end of the week so I will continue next week.
and now as always, i want to ask you:
            any questions?
any suggestions?or ideas you want to see?
            any complaints?
            any advice?

Fun fact: The idea of naming Nexus came to me from the WWE team "New Nexus". I was inspired by their logo which looks like someone holding lightning. I found this to be very relevant to Irregulars and Saint Neal's ideology.(Choosing your own path and destiny)
