    >How does this work?

    >It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
    >There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

    >If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
    >If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

If it's a battle suit, it would make no sense for that area to not have some protection.

          Anonymous

She's a college student with probably no prior experience, the suit's cobbled together out of spare parts from ebay, and protection is afforded mainly by the energy field which is the suit's main function.

Besides, she doesn't strike me as the sort of person who would mould crotch padding into a visible cameltoe.

            Anonymous

She has prior experience since she first went out in what was basically skateboarding gear, and people thought it was a weirdo little boy. It's why she put the suit together AND put padding in it so it looks more feminine. Prior to that she also spent a long time testing equipment in a warehouse.

Since it has padding, it's not altogether impossible that she at least made the fabric thicker, or put padding everywhere but just different amounts where it was more needed. The suit has to protect her against the perils of autonomous flight but beyond that there's also things like wind and weather to take into account, which the force field wouldn't protect against.

It's fair to say that it's not just a simple spandex gimp suit but it has some minimal protection built in.

Padding the crotch only increases the chance of being mistaken for a boy, so it makes sense for it to be one of the least padded areas. Plus the artist for that image likes to draw costumes that are pretty much body paint so we can assume that's his vision of Ladybug's physique sans any enhancement.

    >Willow Prepared her bags and went to tell Mrs. Mavis that she's ready
    >She rushed to the stairs but heard her Dad talking about her
    >Willow paused on the stairs, eavesdropping.
    >Marmot-man (worried):"I just don't know if Willow's ready for this. Meeting other young heroes, being on her own... it's a lot."
    >Mrs. Mavis (comforting): "Joe, she's a remarkable young woman. I'm sure she'll do just fine."
    >Liza (supportive): "She's stronger than you think. Your little girl is growing up."
    >Willow was a bit sad and retreated back to her room
    >Marmot-man (confident):"Despite what I feel, I know she'll be an amazing hero. Ready to face the outside world."
    >Joe (entering Willow's room):"Hey, ready to go?"
    >Willow (a bit mad):"Dad, seriously? You don't think I can handle this?"
    >Joe (defensive): "It's not about not thinking you can handle it. It's just... it's a big world out there."
    >Willow (heated):"I'm not a child anymore, Dad! I can handle myself. You can't keep me in this bubble forever."
    >Joe (frustrated): "Willow, it's not about keeping you in a bubble. It's about—"
    >Willow (interrupting):"It's about what? Protecting me? I want to be a hero, Dad, not your little girl forever."
    >Joe (sighing):"Willow, it's not that simple. The world out there—"

      >Joe (sincerely):"I just want you to be safe, Willow."
      >Willow (softly):"I know. But I need to take risks, learn, and grow. I'll be okay."
      >Joe (hugging her):"You better be, just know that i will always be with you"
      >Willow (hugging him): "I know, Dad. But I have to take this step. I promise I'll be careful."

i won't say that it's 100% diffused (Willow is still mad at Joe for not trusting her ) and this would be an important plot point for Willow's character because she has something to prove to herself and her dad and everyone

Personally, I think it's better to disuse that quickly and let something else be the driving conflict.
Misunderstanding plots are so overused that I find them hard to tolerate anymore unless there are believable circumstances preventing the resolution. I don't like them being the driving point of conflict because the resolution always ends up feeling empty.

      OP is Lovely Ladybug.
Marley Bishop used her inheritance to buy a military grade forcefield generator on ebay. She tweaked it and turned it into a battle suit. It was a huge failure, people even mistook her for a boy because she is small and tomboyish, so she tweaked it so it looks ladybug themed and added padding in the right places.

So now she is a bona fida super heroine like in the comics she used to read with her dad as a child.

I see marley as the little hero that can/could, and it shall see to it, so I think it would be better off if she might have to sacrifice sex assets for the favor of protection and rule of cool/radical badassery.

The canon reason for her to pad out the chest/buttocks of her suit is that people mistook her for a boy.

honestly I think it's gonna be a permanent thing of her being a flattie in her outfit, I mean come on guys, she's never gonna get a pack of breasts or ass, it's stupid.

Besides it's not a big deal anyway considering it makes her stand off/out

no, you misunderstand. The suit gives her some breasts and ass. Outside the suit she is flat as a board.

Well it's a long story kek
      like Really long
but to put it simply :
The Dynamo League revolves around Joe, also known as Marmot-Man, and his role as a superhero. The story explores his dynamic with his daughter Willow, who aspires to be a hero like her father. Joe grapples with the challenges of parenthood, his protective instincts conflicting with Willow's desire for independence. The Dynamo League showcases their adventures, the evolving nature of their relationship, and the ideologies and methods Joe employs in his crime-fighting endeavors. Throughout, the narrative delves into themes of family, heroism, and the complexities of guiding the next generation in a world filled with both danger and the potential for greatness.

I'm not sure if it's "in interest" right now but I'll write a little bit about Percinnius.
He's a ghostly dude with no physical form, that wears a mysteriously magical coat as a replacement for what WOULD be his body. His face is composed of two sides, one of which is tied to his "body" and the other of which he can move at will through thought. These faces form a portal connection between them.
He lives his "life" in an endless quest to understand mortality and his own death, hoping to one day master the states of existence to which he can return to the living world as he so vaguely remembers. In opposition to him is The Adversary, a subjectively evil force of nature created and solely existing for the purpose of stopping Percinnius from bastardizing the separation between Spirit and Body.
I'm working on his origin comic right now.

The origin comic's been in the work for an... embarrassingly long time. It's going to be ~10 pages and expands on a few things with his character and his story. Really though, I'm more excited for future stories that I could tell with him with other /coc/ characters.
Either way, I've avoided writing too much about him publicly because I want to make certain things a surprise for the comic itself, but I could go more in depth with anything you're curious about. I also don't like reposting art but I'll make an exception for this thread.

    >Dynamo League: Shadows and Secrets VII

    >The soft glow of dawn painted the walls of Filbert's House as a sense of quiet anticipation filled the air. The house, usually echoing with laughter and superhero banter, now held a bittersweet hush. Willow's impending departure cast a unique ambiance—a blend of pride and apprehension.
    >Willow (hugging Joe): "I'll miss you, Dad. But this is something I have to do."
    >Joe (returning the hug): "I'll miss you too, Willow. But I know you'll make us proud."
    >Willow (determined): "I'm not just going to be a hero, Dad. I'm going to be the hero."
    >Joe (smiling): "That's my girl. Take on the world, Willow."
    >Willow (nodding): "I will."
    >The moment lingered, father and daughter sharing a silent understanding. Their Home, adorned with superhero memorabilia, felt both familiar and charged with the energy of a new beginning.
    >Mrs. Mavis (waiting in the car): "Ready, Willow?"
    >Willow (getting into the car): "Yeah. Let's do this."
    >The car pulled away from the familiar curb, leaving behind Filbert's house, a haven of heroics and familial love. The journey to the Academy of Prodigy Protectors unfolded against the backdrop of a city waking up to a new day.
    >In the car, driving towards the Academy
    >Willow (curious): "What do people at the Academy think about heroes like Dynamo League?"
    >Mrs. Mavis (thoughtful): "They respect what you do, Willow. But there's a perception that the Dynamo League might not be as structured as some other hero groups. They see you as a bit... unconventional."

      >Willow (defensive): "Unconventional? We get the job done!"
      >Mrs. Mavis:"Your methods are unique, and not everyone appreciates that. But, Willow, there's always room for different approaches in the world of heroes. The Academy values diversity and different perspectives."
      >Willow (nodding): "I just want to make a difference, you know? Be a hero people can look up to."
      >Mrs. Mavis (encouraging): "And you will, Willow. Just be true to yourself, and you'll find your way. The Academy is a place to hone your skills and learn from the best."
      >Willow (looking out the window): "I'm ready for this. I want to be the best hero I can be."
      >In Trunktown, at the Filberts' residence
      >Joe (sighing): "Feels weird without Willow around. I haven't had the house to myself in over ten years."
      >Liza (playfully):"Oh, come on, Joe. Don't be a drama. Willow's growing up, and this is part of it. Have some faith in her."
      >Joe (smirking): "I know, I know. It's just... I've been her Mentor, her protector, for so long. Now, it's like an empty nest."
      >Liza (teasingly): "Empty nest? She's just going to the Academy for a week, not moving out yet. You're going to survive."
      >Joe (smiling): "Yeah, yeah. I guess I'll have some time for myself. Maybe catch up on those superhero movies I've missed."
      >Liza (grinning): "Sounds like a plan. And hey, we've got some business to take care of too."
      >Joe (raising an eyebrow):"Business? What are you scheming, Wonder-Coyote?"
      >Liza (leaning in): "How about we put our heads together and figure out how to deal with the Nexus once and for all?"
      > Joe (nodding):*"Now that's a plan. Let's make sure Willow comes back to a safer world."
      >As Joe and Liza chuckled, their determination to protect their city and ensure a brighter future for Willow became a driving force. The duo was ready to face the challenges that lay ahead, even with their young hero temporarily away.

Hummingbird is building up speed by flying between the two portal heads in order to shoot to the moon! It's a rather loose interpretation of Portal's "fling" mechanic.

      >Regular SM > Terminator > Dreadnought.

Sort of but not entirely. Terminator suits are just a bigger and badder form of armour, designed to be similar to Dreadnoughts in power but usable by any normal Space Marine. It's the hulkbuster equivalent of Space Marine armor.

Dreadnoughts are not an upgrade. It's a life support system slash superheavy bipedal walker robot. They are used by Space Marines who have been mortally wounded or crippled (no legs, arms, large brain damage, etc), to be able to still serve in times of great need or as penance for their crimes. It's also a permanent bond, partially due to how the armor is controller, partially because it's the only thing to keep the user alive.
Basically, Dreadnoughts are marines who still serve in death.

To be fair, evolutions are not always strictly better than their predecessors, ie Murkrow vs Honchkrow, Clefairy vs Clefable, doublade vs Aegislash... and most Marines certainly view it as an upgrade, there's little higher honor than serving in death. Or such is my understanding, anyway.

Pretty much all loyalist chapters view it as the highest of honors, but it's far from a pleasant experience.

Do you have a drawing tablet? If yes, the just draw for a good day or two before pursuing any real lessons. If you don't then drop Procreate and get q pencil + lined paper notebook and draw in that bad boy for a while before approaching digital

Just an ipad with procreate not a dedicated one. I doodle pic related and tried tracing some of the poses from the yugioh card art to get an idea of how people do poses/size things correctly but i dont wan't to do that too much as a crutch and end up making myself worse for it.

          Anonymous

Tracing is perfectly fine as long as you strive to learn something from it. That's how I started. You just can't keep doing it forever-- or for very long at all, actually.
I don't really have any good advice beyond "just draw" since I am 1000% self taught. I've pretty much never actually taken any drawing lessons. Get some good ideas, get passionate and fall in love with one of your ideas. Make a character or a place that you just want to draw constantly. Draw them in different tones, different poses, different camera angles, etc. That's how you begin the process of learning to love drawing.
This isn't the place for advice though. Go to /ic/.

This page is a bit light in dialogue. Maybe adding some more speaking would be nice.

Here's what the original script is.

    >Panel:
    >Shot of BB catching her breath or composing herself or with an exclamation mark above her head that she’s noticed something.

    >Panel:
    >Close up of Sidestep looking her way, still with a big sack over his shoulder

    >Panel:
    >Same panel of BB as before, but now with a more serious look on her face with her arm raised up to her chest with ninja stars between her fingers.

    >Panel:
    >Sidestep is looking over at the ninja stars now embedded in the side of the van.
    >GG (off panel): “I said no stars!”
    >BB (off panel): “It was just a couple!”

    >Panel:
    >BB is running straight at the POV of the reader, now brandishing a tonfa.
    >BB: “Ton-fa pain!” (Time for pain)

    >Panel:
    >BB has swung the tonfa and only hit the van. Sidestep is standing in the background behind her from where the POV is.
    >SS: “Hah-hah, what a spaz.”

It's not bad for a first go. It's definitely a very "superhero noir" opening. It would be interesting to see it put to picture but 60 pages is LONG

You know, maybe I can actually just split Issue #0 smack-dub in the middle.
        >Page 30
        >Panel 5
        >Back to Man 2/Stanley back at the table, drink in his hand.
        >MAN 2/STANLEY: "...And by the time I woke up the cops were there."
        >MAN 2/STANLEY: "That's about it."
        >Panel 6
        >Man 2/Stanley nonchalantly takes a sip out of his glass.
        >PART 1 END

Would it be good to just cut off on something so deliberately anticlimactic?
        I'm actually not sure.

I like the framing of the guys all telling stories but the dialog is a bit iffy in some parts. Sometimes they seem too wordy or have weird sentence structure that's not conducive to their syntax or accent, so it comes across as a bit clunky. The "he's not so different he and us" thing feels kind of unearned too. If that's supposed to be a core message; that suffering and tribulations can make you a hero or a villain depending on your mindset, then it's too clear and heavy handed. Otherwise though, it sounds pretty good. Very well paced and a good introduction to the character and his enemies.

        Anonymous

The central theme of this was supposed to be how criminals (and people at large) would view superheros irl, but in a less "Ennis'y" way:
        >Stanley's son loves superheros, so it rubbed off on him to an extent
        >Derek likes to talk big game, but he's actually scared shitless
        >Mark fell into the supervillain romanticism and done some regrettable shit due to it
Frank is the only one with a somewhat clear picture of Arthur because he's mostly above "us vs them" mentality and moreso values the lengths the one would go. It's not a character trait that can be easily elaborated on in a single issue where 3/4ds is dedicated to other characters, so I can understand why it would feel unearned.
In any way, thank you for your input, it deserves the quads.
It was the first time I ever wrote something like this.

I initially opted for a JH 15 pages long kind of deal and then got hit with a "oh frick, I'm DO NOT have the space to elaborate on this properly" repeatedly as I went.
I couldn't even figure out how to make it at least 56 pages long so it would be divisible by 8, which was genuinely frustrating.

what is every character's living arrangement? apartment? dorm? standalone housing? what kind of decor do they have at their room?

While I haven't put much thought into it, I imagine Percinnius is mostly homeless. However, in the case where he has a home in a city, it would likely be some form of abandoned garage or building. Preferably not far from a graveyard. There, he would use it as a site of paranormal and spiritual experimentation. Attempts at raising the dead, summoning spirits, opening gateways between worlds, etc. Just don't ask who keeps digging up the corpses.
      >Fun fact: Percinnius is actually extremely envious and almost angry towards people in general.
He values life beyond nearly anything in the world, and sees most people as throwing their precious gift away by spending it on shallow pursuits and pointless desires. They are so easily allowed to have that which he could only dream and they choose to do nothing with it. He finds it insulting to the very concept of existence.

          >I don't know who this is

Since we are on the subject:
      >Arthur rents a 2 room apartment in the ghetto-ass part of the city
      >it's actually the most spacious one out of the bunch (which might be indicative of some favoritism towards him from the landlord lady), but it basically almost never has working hot water
      >its walls are covered in cheap wallpaper that's peeling off in some places
      >always cleaner than you assume it would be
      >it has a sofa that he sleeps on

        Thanks for the feedback:

If I can sum it up simply

        >I like to draw noodly shit to break up the surface on larger shapes

        >Justify to my self how this girl runs/jump/delivers street justice with breasts that take up a 1/3 of her bodymass

I can imagine fatigue drawing the smaller details over and over again for a comic, however I am this:

        More Belts and buckles!
        MORE I say!!

        unironically.

This isn't to supplant the original, just making a design for me.

to my self how this girl runs/jump/delivers street justice with breasts that take up a 1/3 of her bodymass
Fair enough but I was always under the impression that the joke was "she doesn't" or at the very least "she does it very poorly".
Having said that I think a bigger issue is her head size seems kinda small for her body or too narrow or something.
I do wish we'd have given her a utility belt from the start though even if it were a simplified one.

I kinda agree, its really good but a bit too complex for making comics.
The corset makes sense but I feel like she'd have to be aware of her chest to make it or come to the conclusion of needing one.

Golden Girl isn't aware of her chest size because the Comics Code blinds her to it. She imagines herself as flat. When she builds/buys the corset, she'd have to take her size into account.

I can understand how they can see it as overdesigned, But I think it will come down to how it's colored or how close we're viewing her.

The details of this are helpful for overall understanding of the design, but I could see simplifying the look a bit when we see her from a bit further making sense.
