    >How does this work?

    >It works like a community toy chest. In the /coc/ threads you are free to post whatever ideas/settings/characters you want, but you have to be OK with other people playing with them (tweaking them, putting them in stories, using them for things, etc.)
    >There's no guarantee that what you post will catch on either.

    >If the OC you are posting is YOURS for something you are personally doing, then it would go to the "How is your webcomic?" threads.
    >If you just want feedback on an OC of yours, then it would go in the "donut steel" threads or drawthreads.

If the thread dies suddenly or you still want to discuss something when there's no thread:
    https://boards.plusCinemaphile/coc/

A man filled with violence and crippling self-doubt. Truly a tragic case of not being able to see the mountains for the angst.

                Anonymous

                >crippling self-doubt
"Doubt" implies a lapse in his belief; Arthur's flat-out blind to his own merit.
It doesn't matter to him how many armed men he's capable of beating barehanded or how many evil schemes he can figure out on the fly, he still has a lot of trouble seeing himself as anything other than a college dropout who has failed to enter the boxing ring. This runs throughout the majority of his characterisation: from his disdain for "wienery" people to utter refusal to even consider that him and Lila can actually work.

    Greetings y'all
so i had this little Greentext i wrote and tomorrow i will continue the serial greentexts

    >Joe explains Santa to Liza

    >In the Filberts' residence, a festive atmosphere takes over
    >Liza (confused):"So, let me get this straight. You're telling me there's this big, jolly guy who breaks into houses to leave gifts?"
    >Joe (grinning): "Well, not exactly breaks in. He uses chimneys. And yeah, that's the idea."
    >Liza (raising an eyebrow):** "Chimneys? Seriously? What if someone doesn't have a chimney?"
    >Joe (nodding): "Good point. I guess Santa has some high-tech chimney bypass or something."
    >Liza (sarcastic): "Right, a chimney bypass. Very believable."
    >Joe (enthusiastic): "And you leave out cookies and milk for him. It's a tradition!"
    >Liza (smirking): "So, this guy gets free snacks too? Nice gig."
    >Joe (laughing):"You got it. And then there's Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer, who leads the sleigh."
    >Liza (squinting): "Reindeer flying a sleigh? You're not pulling my leg, are you?"
    >Joe (grinning):"Nope, it's all part of the magic. Oh, and he knows if you've been naughty or nice."
    >Liza (raising an eyebrow): "He spies on people? That's a bit creepy."
    >Joe (defensive):"It's not spying; it's... festive surveillance!"
    >Liza (laughs):"Festive surveillance? You people and your holiday traditions are wild."
    > Joe (playful):"Come on, it's fun! Besides, who wouldn't want a magical gift-giver flying around on Christmas Eve?"
    >Liza (smirking):"Alright, maybe I'll leave out some snacks for this chimney-surfing, reindeer-flying, gift-giver."
    >Joe (grinning):"That's the spirit! You might just get a surprise visit."
    >And so, in the Marmot residence, the concept of Santa Claus becomes a delightful and silly topic of conversation, adding a touch of holiday cheer.

At what point does a cast get too bloated, particularly in a setting without a set central character?

I'd say focus on the action and mystery aspects of the character and his rogues. I think you should maybe take some queues from Sandman Mystery Theatre and some older Batman comics and really tell a crime thriller kinda plot.

    >Dynamo League: Shadows and Secrets VIII

    >In the quiet hours of the night, Oliver (Captain Under-socks) grapples with his own thoughts
    >Oliver (whispering to himself): "What have I done? This mess with the Nexus, with Saint Neal... it's tearing everything apart."
    >Struggling to find peace, Oliver decides to channel his anxiety into his sock sculptures. He shapes and molds the soft material, attempting to craft a face. Unintentionally, the features take on a familiar scowl, resembling none other than Saint Neal.
    >Oliver (frustrated): Great, even my sock sculptures are turning against me.
    >The next day arrives, and Oliver heads to the closed meeting with former superpowered offenders. The atmosphere is different; a palpable tension hangs in the air. The others exchange glances, and Oliver senses judgment silently passed on him. Determined to address the elephant in the room, he breaks the silence.
    >Captain Under-socks (serious):"What's on your minds, guys? Speak up."
    >Small Offender #1 (skeptical): "So, Captain Under-socks, how do we know you won't turn on us too?"
    >Captain Under-socks (defensive): What? I haven't turned on anyone!
    >Small Offender #2 (accusing): "You're a hero, aren't you? Heroes betrayed us before. What makes you different?"

      Dynamo Anon

      >Captain Under-socks (angry): I'm not like that! I'm trying to stop the conflict!"
      >The meeting takes a sharp turn into a heated argument. Opinions clash, accusations fly, and the debate intensifies as Oliver defends himself against the suspicion cast upon him. Tempers flare until Oliver, frustrated, storms out, leaving the tension unresolved.
      >Desperate for clarity, Oliver heads to the Dynamo League HQ. There, he finds Marmot-man and the other members awaiting him, alongside the government agent Agatha Lead.
      >Agatha Lead (stern): "You were the last one to visit Saint Neal, Oliver. If you know anything, now's the time to speak up."
      >Captain Under-socks(defensive): "I don't know anything! I've got nothing to do with whatever's going on with Saint Neal."
      >Agent AL (serious):"Somehow, Saint Neal managed to break out of Class B Prison. You're connected, and we need answers."
Oliver (in shock): How did Neal get out? I didn't...
      > Agent AL (pressing): "If you know anything, now is the time to speak."
      >Captain Under-socks (defiant): "I don't know anything about it!"
      >The atmosphere re-tightens as suspicion hangs heavy in the air, leaving Oliver caught in the crossfire of escalating tensions. The chapter closes with uncertainty looming over the small city.

              >Mrs. Mavis (enthusiastic): "Welcome to the Academy, Willow! Let's start with a tour."
              >Mrs. Mavis guides Willow through the hallowed halls of the Academy, narrating its rich history and detailing the hero-themed subjects Willow will be studying.
              >Mrs. Mavis (explaining):"Here, you'll learn everything from hero ethics to advanced combat strategies. The academy is not just about powers; it's about becoming a well-rounded hero."
              >She leads Willow to the auditorium and points to an empty seat.
              >Mrs. Mavis (smiling):"This is where you'll get to hear from Brave Watcher later today. It's a tradition for all new students. Enjoy!"
              >As Willow nervously settles into her seat, a mix of excitement and anxiety bubbling within her, she glances around at the other young heroes. Attempting to strike up a conversation, she finds it challenging.
              >Willow (muttering to herself):"Come on, Willow, you can do this..."
              >After a few failed attempts, she decides to browse her phone. Time passes, and as Brave Watcher's speech draws near, a tall girl with long brown hair and distinctive horns sits down next to Willow.

                >Gwendolyn (blushing):"Thanks. Yours are cool too. So, new here, huh?"
                >As the two shy and socially anxious girls start to bond over their shared new experiences, Willow realizes that maybe making friends at the Academy won't be as daunting as she thought.
                > Willow (curious): "So, Gwendolyn, what brings you to the Academy? Your story sounds interesting."
                >Gwendolyn (smiling): "Well, my dad is Rocky Delaware, the businessman. But I didn't want to live in his shadow. I've got this Yak physiology thing going on, which makes me stand out, but it's also a big part of who I am. I decided I wanted to be known for something I achieve, not just my family name."
                >Willow (impressed): "That's awesome! So, you're here to become a hero and make a name for yourself?"
                >Gwendolyn (nodding): "Exactly! I want people to know me for what I can do, not just who my dad is. I've always admired heroes for their courage and the way they make a real impact. What about you, Willow? What's your story?"

                >Gwendolyn (nodding): "Totally get that. It's important to forge your own identity. So, what's your power? If you don't mind me asking."
                >Willow (smirking): "I've got this glowing green aura thing going on. It's pretty cool i guess. And you?"

                >As the two continue chatting, the auditorium fills with anticipation for Brave Watcher's speech. well you are not completely wrong but it's more of them planting the seeds of the nexus ideology in young heroes people making them feel superior to the Regular people and making them lose their empathy and Sympathy towards normal people
and it's not the students who are doing this also there's a very dangerous person in the academy that Willow encounters

No, just that strip games usually aim for likes or reblog numbers and Ladybug isn't very popular on other sites, so probably would not reach any milestones set. The 'looks young but isn't' thing probably does impact her popularity though.

I made a bunch of BB concepts using ai (Bing's Dall-e 3). I wish I could draw as well as a computer. And damn I wish I had this resource when we were designing her. I guess it not too late to make changes for the 100th time, but everybody is probably frustrated with me by now.

These threads are generally for shared Cinemaphile characters and concepts, generally referred to as a "toybox" for anyone to use. We do field personal projects and OCs from time to time, but there's a dedicated OC thread on /aco/ if that's more your speed. Though naturally you''ll have to be okay with the possibility someone makes porn of it.
If it's furry, there's an OC thread on /trash/, I think.

    >Dynamo League: A New Begining II

    >Brave Watcher came to and asked the students to be quiet as he started his Heroic speech
    >Brave Watcher (commanding): "Welcome, young heroes, to the Academy of Prodigy Protectors! You are the future, the hope of the next generation. The responsibility you carry is immense, but so is the potential within each of you."
    >Willow (listening intently): "This is it, the beginning of my journey."
    >Brave Watcher (passionate): "Heroism is not just about powers and abilities; it's about the heart. It's about standing up for what's right, even when it's difficult. It's about making sacrifices for the greater good. You will face challenges, confront your fears, and discover the true meaning of heroism."
    >As Brave Watcher's speech continues, he encourages the young heroes to embrace their unique gifts and use them responsibly. The auditorium is filled with a mix of excitement and determination.
    >Brave Watcher (concluding): "Now, if any of you have questions or concerns, feel free to ask. We value transparency and honesty here at the Academy."
    >a young anthro Dalmatian dog raised his hand, Ronnie was his name and he came prepared to this speech.
    >Ronnie (raising hand): "I've got a question."
    >Brave Watcher (nodding): "Go ahead."
    >Ronnie (direct): "What about the dark history of this place? We've read and heard stories about heroes who met tragic ends here. Like Diabolo-man, Not to be confused with the other Devil-themed hero Diavolo-man who's doing a good job by the way....anyways Diabolo-man went into a blind rage after overdosing on drugs he started using while in the academy.some people say that he killed like Five people in this rampage but i don't have a source for this..."

      >Brave Watcher (uncomfortable): "Well, the Academy has evolved over the years. Mistakes were made in the past, and we've learned from them. We're committed to fostering a safe and nurturing environment for all our students."
      >Ronnie (firm): "But what about one of the founders "Masked shadow ", a former member of a hate group? How do we know those influences aren't still lingering?"
      > Brave Watcher (hesitant): "Son, those are valid concerns, and I appreciate your dedication to seeking the truth. The Academy has indeed faced challenges, and we acknowledge our past missteps. Masked Shadow's association with a hate group is part of our history, and it's crucial to address it openly."
      >Ronnie (pressing further): "How can we be sure that the Academy has truly distanced itself from such ideologies? Are there still individuals here who might share those views?"
      >Brave Watcher (defensive): "We've implemented strict policies to ensure that our faculty and staff are committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment. The Academy stands against any form of discrimination. However, I understand that trust needs to be earned, and we're dedicated to proving that the Academy has evolved."
      >Ronnie (unyielding): "What about the mental health support for students? Diabolo-man's tragic end speaks volumes about the challenges heroes face. Are there adequate resources for those struggling with mental health here?"

        >Brave Watcher (pausing): "We have counselors and support systems in place to assist students dealing with mental health issues. It's a priority for us to ensure the well-being of every hero in training."
        >Ronnie (persisting): "I appreciate your responses, but actions speak louder than words. How can we trust that the Academy is genuinely committed to change?"
        >Brave Watcher (ending the speech): "I understand your skepticism, Ronnie, and I encourage healthy skepticism. We'll continue to work towards transparency and addressing concerns. Now, let's focus on the future. Welcome to the Academy of Prodigy Protectors."
        >As the speech concludes, there's a palpable tension in the air. Willow, caught in the midst of these challenging questions, wonders about the path she's chosen. The Academy, once seen as a beacon of hope, now carries the weight of its troubled history. The adventure has just begun, and the young heroes are faced with uncertainties that could shape their destinies.

Ronnie is my attempt to make a parody of "the Obvious undercover cop" trope, But he's just a person who came to shake and change the Current wave of heroism and make Willow reconsider her views on this particular thing
and that Dalmatian will be a pain in the ass for the teachers kek
he's basically doing the "i became part of the system to destroy the system" bit
