this isnt a thing irl btw. There have been tonnes of videos where people have half their face ripped off or had their whole body squashed by a truck but are still conscious and lucid, experiencing every second of that agonizing pain before death
That's entirely different. Sawing your own leg off is not a quick accident, and it's self inflicted which is much harder to deal with due to the body's natural drive for self preservation.

Yeah, check out any writings on battlefield amputation prior to proper anesthetics, it’s all about figuring out how to cut it off quick enough to not just kill the patient. Not impossible, but very unlikely anyone could survive doing it to themselves.
Do you think you could use the toilet cover to break the chain? It's a pretty heavy piece of ceramic, but the chains look kind of thick. I think that's probably the best bet
