Daniel Day Lewis shouldn't be on that list. If you need months in jail, or in a wheel chair, or need to people to speak to you as if you were the person you're portraying... just to get into character... you're a shit actor.
He is a shit actor either way. I have never watched a DDL movie and seen the character he was portraying. At any moment, I saw DDL showing off his hammy acting.
I like deniro but he has so many shitty roles. And all the good ones are basically the same one. Leo Dicaprio to me is one of the greatests. Phillip S. Hoffman should be mentioned more in these lists. Michael Imperioli's role as Chrissy is the best acting ever filmed.
DiCaprio fricking sucks and can't act. Deniro has been in like thirty excellent movies. Godfather 2, taxi driver, once upon a time in New York, meet the parents, Brazil, angel heart, could go on and on and on. I don't know that he's the best, but by sheer volume he'd deserve #1. I already said my suggestion earlier, Mickey Rourke deserves #1 but DiCaprio? He's a model past his prime, not an actor. Even Pitt who I feel similarly about does a better job than DiCaprio. You must be a woman to hold an opinion like that.
Deniro is a shit actor. Doesn't even belong on a top 20 list. Not believable at all. Being in decent movies doesn't mean you're a good actor.
Off the top of my head, better actors that aren't shown on that list:
Brad Pitt
Leonardo Dicaprio
Ewan McGregor
Josh Brolin
Mel Gibson
Daniel Craig
>christian bale rated low because he's the youngest
all of the above actors spent 30 years of their young lives making absolute dogshit until they had their 'breakout' and started getting treated with respect
bale has made nothing but bangers since he started
Al Pacino should be nowhere near anyone's top 10 list. He's not terrible, but I have genuinely never liked any of his roles except for Godfather 2 and Serpico. Also, why is there no actor from the Golden Age of Hollywood on here? Mitchum, Stewart, Grant? Hell, even the layman choice of Bogart makes more sense than most of these names.
seems like this is being ranked by normies aka no one who watches mitchum, stewart, grant, etc. movies - i don't even know if any of the names listed have a credit from before 1970. that being said i can guarantee brando in the top 3 and i shudder to think james dean might also make an appearance for some reason. hoping for dustin hoffman though.
Jared Harris
Tobias Menzies
Cirian Hinds
Lionel Barrymore
William Powell
James Cagney
Robert Duvall
James Stewart
Thomas Mitchell
tom cruise
kevin costner
bruce willis
#1 is James Stewart and not close. He's amazing and, from all accounts, a good person.
freeman's alright but really doesn't belong next to those names
Eric Roberts in Stalked by My Doctor
Eric Roberts in Sharktopus
Eric Roberts in The Dark Knight
you forgot Eric Roberts in Raptor (Video 2001)

Nicholson should be in the top three, at least.

ACTINGGGGGG
Christian Bale is awful. Losing and gaining weight is not acting.
>Tom Hanks
>Leo
>?
Leo is truly terrible, he is only allowed to be in films because he still has surplus goodwill left over from how handsome he used to be 30 years ago
Rourke mogs them all. Caan is a top 10 actor too

100% certainty Marlon Brando winds up in one of the top 3 slots
Al Pacino should be nowhere near anyone's top 10 list. He's not terrible, but I have genuinely never liked any of his roles except for Godfather 2 and Serpico. Nicholas Cage
Edward Norton
Willem Defoe
>not a single woman
>only one single israelite
How did they get away with it?
>not a single woman
They are called actresses.
1. Tom Hanks cause he's America's dad
2. Marlon Brando cause he's classic actor man
3. Leonardo DiCaprio cause he's in all those Scorsese movies
>Deniro and Pecino that high
Lol. What a garbage list. Oldman should probably be in top 3. Bale is better than Deniro and Pecino by a mile
Robbie Coltrane
Christopher Walken
Robert Vaughn
Ralph Fiennes
Carl Weathers
David Warner
It’s funny seeing people argue about acting ability because every single person has different critical parameters concerning what good acting is.
Brando should be #1
Bob Peck
Roger Livesey
Gary Cooper
