You could argue that Ben is technically a cross species himself, Even if all of the Anodite stuff is recessive. Making him unable to transform into a Anodite via Omnitrix , the same way he can't turn into a human, via Omnitrix.
Honestly I think a better excuse for the anodite dna not being present could be that they have an understanding with Azmuth. Aren’t they supposed to be powerful peace keepers? They could enforce it on him, or it’s simply a mutual respect
Second excuse is that it can’t unlock the original dna potential of the wielder. Since Ben already has anodite genes, he can’t unlock the transformation. Not the quick way at least
all lame excuses. The Omnitrix can shoot dna rays to alter ones DNA, so he could complete the anodite gen in order to use it. There is also Ultimate Ben, if the Omnitrix can't then the Ultimatrix could.

Danny is inconsistent because he could ignore Invincible's physicality by possessing him and throwing his ass to the ghost zone but if he cant do that he is fricked.
Danny and aang are hopelessly outclassed in this fight.
