Yes. Pratt is legit, obvious movie star material plus he has a good agent and is offered/accepts the right roles. That said, it's worth noticing that Pratt is also bold when choosing his roles: Terminal List for instance was a huge step that happened to pay off immensely well.
Pratt is just fortunate in that he has good natural comic timing while having the moviestar good looks that also let him do dramatic roles, not to mention stuff like GOTG where both attributes help.

This guy was a fricking acting marvel in the This Is England movie and show. Then he showed comedic chops in Misfits. Then he went serious again in Pride. Then on the Hollywood side he played an okay villain in an Escape From NY rip-off in space that got sued for being too much of a rip-off and so it got fricked over, then he was in The Last Witch Hunter, then he ended up being the only interesting thing in that shitty Seth Rogen adaptation of Preacher, where he was still just comedic relief. Then he went back to Britain and did Brassic. It's like he had a separate agent for Hollywood and that guy just completely shit the bed instead of giving him some serious acting roles like Barry Keoghan's gotten.
Jewel Staite. She had a few TV roles but nothing after that. I always thought she was great in everything she was in.
