Were Bob's Burgers and Rick and Morty the last popular animated family sitcoms? Doesn't seem like this genre is in high demand anymore, especially in adult animation.

Bob's burgers was never popular. It was pure luck that it got a better timeslot than the Cleveland show. Three seasons isn't half bad. By season 4, things start to get stale and people move on to another shows.
>Bob's burgers was never popular.
It never reached Simpsons or Family Guy-levels of popularity, but it still is well-known within the U.S., only with a casual following rather than an avid one.
The Belchers aren't iconic enough to get Butterfinger or Subway commercials, but they have at least gotten a movie, two spiritual successors airing alongside it, and a special New Year's bumper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiO_CXplRbE
That's gotta count for something.
I'd say they're on about the same level of popularity as Robot Chicken, not as much as Aqua Teen though
I'm gonna issue that sexy lanky male Pepper Ann.
Pepper Ann was a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better character.
But not as sexy.
FOX is forcing Housebroken to be their biggest adult animated hit since The Great North is own by Disney
Rick and Morty is not a family sitcom. Bob's Burgers might very well have been the last. FOX is going nowhere fast.
>Rick and Morty is not a family sitcom.
It literally is tho.
>FOX is going nowhere fast.
Aren't they developing a pilot with Vewn? Their TV animation division seems to be more experimental than ever now.
Jesus those tiddies
This Duncanville thing looks so damn bad, like it's almost a parody of shitty fox animated sitcoms.
Duncanville's biggest mistake was looking too generic. After all these years, cartoon showrunners with a strictly writing or standup comedy background rather than any professional art experience still think audiences want more of the same. It's a shame.
I'm surprised Bob's Burgers survived
We all are. I'm more surprised the movie still made it out alive. No one watched it of course, but it's still a marvel that it made it to theaters despite the show peaking in popularity 5+ years ago.
solid movie.
mid movie
bad movie.
I'm glad this didn't play in my country
