>We're going to get caught.

>We're going to get caught. Then hijack a plane mid air, with a crew from another plane. Then we're going to take a body from one plane to the other, and switch the blood - while still mid air mind you - and then we're going to escape the plane using wires and shit

That's quite a mouthful sir, couldn't we just ambush them like, on the ground or something?

Not really, only if Hathaway is your waifu and you're really into corny dialogue and foreshadowing. Worst part of the whole movie is when batman gets out of the pit. The rope was attached to an anchor outside the pit, he could have just climbed up the whole time. It's beyond stupid and can't believe it was even part of the movie.

Yes, they should have had it be just that his back was so fricked nobody should have ever even walked again, but nolan had to have it be whimsical and add the part about jumping the gap without the rope being the only way to make it out. To elaborate because I'm bored:
      >CIA, pavel, and hooded guys board the plane
      >CIA: "Call it in" - implying call in the 3 prisoners barring previous instructions
      >CIA: "My flight plan with the agency lists me and my men, doctor pavel, but only one of you. First one who talks gets to stay on my aircraft."
      >CIA drags hooded man #1 to the open door, asks him about bane to no answer, and then fires his gun next to him, puts him in another part of the plane and goes back to hooded guys #2 and #3
      >CIA: "He didn't fly so good!"
Okay, so we've 100% established that he was bluffing about killing them or throwing them out of the plane - and if you think about it that makes sense, if the CIA captures you for intel and are on the way back to some base where you could torture them forever what point is there in killing them even if they aren't talking in the short term? But that's okay. Maybe Bane doesn't know this?
      Oh wait.
      >Bane: "Perhaps he was wondering why you would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane?"
Bane is right here, and making it obvious that he knows CIA isn't killing them for not talking he's just being theatrical, firing the gun because he thinks it might scare the hooded guys who probably wouldn't hear somebody being thrown out of a plane in the first place.
      >The plane shenanigan happens.
      >Bane would clearly be able to confirm that both the 2 guys are still on the plane with him in case he had some doubt
      >Bane then tells a random goon to stay anyway, because "they expect one of us in the wreckage"
Even though we've established that they definitely expect 3 of them, and that makes the sacrifice totally pointless because Bane was looking for an excuse to get rid of that specific guy for some reason.

what exactly was the plan anyways, make it look like Dr. Pablo died in a plane hijacking?
did Bane just assume nobody would notice that the plane somehow kept flying for several minutes without wings or a tail section?
did Bane just assume nobody would even attempt to identify the bodies using anything besides their blood?
did Bane just assume nobody would question how the single wreckage brother apparently fired hundreds of rounds both inside and outside the plane
I guess you could maybe assume investigators would take a while to notice, but how long did Bane expect the ruse to last?

if we are taking this movie that seriously then there are a few other things that would have given it away too.

In literally the first few flights of flight school you're taught several different transponder codes for various situations. By default or for VFR only operations you'd have to squak (set your transponder code) to 1200 - this allows ATC to recognize that you're in the area but they don't actively keep track of you since you're on VFR or visual flight rules.

Other codes that are specific to emergencies can be punched in as well including 7600 for radio malfunctions, 7500 for a hijacking, or 7700 for a more generalized distress code.

If this is a CIA plane and its flying without a transponder the ELT would have almost immediately tripped the second the plane had its wings ripped off and this automatically broadcasts a signal on a frequency that is constantly monitored regardless of which country you're in (121.5 MHz).

On top of that, I can't imagine the CIA is this incompetent, then again, they do pretty sloppy work across the board.

My favourite thing is that the changing the blood doesn't even kind of make sense.
Like there is no factual basis for that to have been born from. No one uses blood to identify people or corpses. Decades of police procedurals have told everyone that corpses are identified by their dental records if the face is too messed up and fingerprints aren't available/recoverable. If dental records can't be obtained due to the state of the corpse, they do a dna test on flesh. They don't look for globs of blood (as if you could change 100% of someone's blood in 20 seconds)
It seems ridiculous that either 1. No one mentioned this despite the numerous people that would have read the script in advance of this being filmed or 2. Nolan was made aware of this and just chose to ignore it because he has zero artistic integrity and it seemed like a real thing in his dumbass brain

Im no doctor but doesn't the blood go to your organs too when you die and your heart stops pumping? isnt that why you get blue hands and feet?

        Anonymous

I have no idea. Organs do tend to have a lot of blood it's true. But they don't test blood for dna because blood is really bad at holding it.
They'd test the actual tissue matter which is a lot easier to test, and is an actual solid that can easily be verified.

The teeth would be pulverized from a crash from that altitude.

        Probably not pulverised.
The ground is grassland/fields and the skull would be protecting them. But you're right that the jaw would likely be too messed up for the records to match anything.

I've heard people call it a plot hole that if Bane cared enough about the plane crash being investigated to transfuse Pavel's blood to a decoy then then the bigger mistake was tearing the plane apart because the debris would be spread out over a much larger area than a normal plane crash. The thing is the debris COULD be explained via momentum. The distance a plane could travel horizontally, as if its wings broke in flight, versus vertically (being dropped from the harness). Wind and atmospheric pressure aside, a plummeting plane would likely descend faster than a coasting plane which would reach max velocity sooner therefore would travel farther horizontally. So in order to maintain the illusion of catastrophic structural failure (perhaps) they literally did the math to figure out how long they could drag an upended plane until it no longer resembled an accident. Nolan is VERY time-oriented and I would bet that that scene falls EXACTLY in the window of margin of error for such a disaster.
