I've also heard they don't like the title of Turning Red, which is Watashi Wa Tokidoki Ressa Panda which is Sometimes I'm a Red Panda.

I'm not a nip, but Nibunnoichi no Mahou ("Half Magic") is a much better title than Onward. They get it right every now and then.

I also heard they don't like this title because they think it sounds immature.

        >Sometimes I'm a Red Panda
I don't know why they'd get mad at this, this is how half their manga are named now.

          >manga
It's a webnovel thing. The manga that have names like that are just adaptations of existing novels with such titles.

Correction, this is actually "Watashi Tokidoki Ressa Panda", there is no "wa"

      >"What's wrong with this is that even though it's set in an American city, the characters appearing in the movie are in Japanese, meaning that even the signboards have been dubbed into Japanese."

      >"What are the specifications of Disney Plus (or is the Japanese version Disney Minus?) But ``Soulful World'' is a serious masterpiece, so everyone should watch it."

      >"When it comes to Pixar movies, I understand that they want children to be able to understand them, but I would like to at least be able to choose to watch the original, especially when it comes to software and subscriptions.
I remember being shocked when the opening crawl of a Star Wars DVD was played in Japanese. (I was relieved to be able to choose English notation later)"

      >"I'm not good at English, and I watch it first with the dubbed version and then with subtitles, so I don't think it's 100% unnecessary, but there are parts where I'm like, "Hmm! Font!!"

so dumb. Why do they do this. Just adds to the budget. Does anyone want this?

I like translated signs personally. If they're in the original language of the film, they were meant to be read. I think it's fair if they don't bother with something that minor though.

I think signs should be in the subtitles... that's how goes when I watched the Miyazaki movie the boy and the heron

they hate the signs because the fonts are super generic and translation is often clunky like turning "my hero" in wreck it ralph into ”私のヒーロー" in the most basic MS Word font possible.

        >I remember being shocked when the opening crawl of a Star Wars DVD was played in Japanese.
Norwegian here, this pisses me the frick off too. What's even the point, just use normal subtitles and give people the option of reading the original English text if they want.

The Star Wars crawl text is translated into my language in Disney Plus even if I switch everything into english, it happens even in Ahsoka IIRC. I hate this.

that's some horseshit. On the other hand I can watch things in like 30 different languages depending on the release so whose to say.

I've also noticed the dubs into foreign languages aren't the same as the subtitles.

Bells can be sweet. I've eaten raw before. But why would they do this for japan? Is broccoli illegal or offensive there?

No, it's because broccoli is not a stock yucky vegetable in Japan. But bell peppers are considered an acquired taste.

I agree that bell peppers are sweet and mild though. Just seems odd to feed them to a two year old raw.

      >Bells can be sweet
      Depends on the bell pepper.
Yellow and orange bell peppers are known to be sweet.
Red peppers are a mild flavor.
Green, on the other hand, are generally bitter when eaten on their own.

yeah it's specifically green ones that are considered yuck in Japan

I remember removing bell peppers from my pizza as a child, the metallic taste was gross and the outer skin made it hard to eat.

Bell peppers are the stereotypical "vegetable kids don't like" in Japan, while broccoli is a fairly common side dish everyone likes. It's just autistically "translating" the scene into a local stereotype.

they also changed a line in Cars 2 from "nuclear" to "electromagnetic" because of the Tohoku earthquake and the Fukoshima Daiichi disaster.
